Chapter 397: Tsunade & Ino vs. the A-B Combo
Tsunade's second-in-command was Ino, responsible for helping her fight. Ino's second-in-command was Shikamaru, responsible for covering her blind spots. Shikamaru's second-in-command was Choji, responsible for carrying bags and tanking damage.
Asuma's assault team was in charge of breaking through enemy lines—to put it bluntly, their job was to stomp on weaker opponents in a stalemate. Shizune was in charge of logistics and the medical team, and even Tonton was helping transport supplies.
The eastern front was full of acquaintances who all had connections with each other, ensuring their coordination would be seamless.
Tsunade had been able to become the Fifth Hokage in the original timeline; she had both political and military skills.

Blue Lightning Release chakra enveloped the Fourth Raikage. With a roar, his figure shot forward like a bolt of lightning, his feet pushing off the ground as he charged violently towards Ino.
Take him down while he's weak. Things like bullying the small with the great didn't matter at a time like this; this was war.
Knowing that Ino's Wood Release was a major counter to the Tailed Beasts, he certainly wouldn't be foolish enough to follow Tsunade's plan. Before his words had even faded, his heavy fist was already hurtling toward Ino's face.
Ino's "Speed" was now at 10; her neural reaction speed had reached the pinnacle for a ninja.
Even without activating her three-tomoe Sharingan, relying on her own perception, she could vaguely sense the sudden flow of chakra within the Fourth Raikage's body. She knew she was the target. The Fourth Raikage's heavy fist was stopped by the Wood Golem.

"Is this the Wood Golem Jutsu?" This technique hadn't appeared in the ninja world for several decades. The Fourth Raikage couldn't help but leap back, looking up to examine it for a moment.
"A, you still dare to look away? Are you underestimating me!" Accompanying the voice was Tsunade's monster-strength punch. The force of the wind rushed towards him. Half a second before the ground was smashed into a five-meter-diameter crater by the immense impact, he jumped out of Tsunade's attack range.
Ino coordinated with her teacher with perfect tacit understanding.
The level 5 Wood Release made the Wood Golem bear a slight resemblance to her.
The Wood Golem swiped its hand, and the battered Seven-Star Sword appeared at its waist. The Golem assumed an Iaijutsu stance and, quick as lightning, slashed out at a forty-five-degree angle, its target the Fourth Raikage who had leaped high into the air.
Faced with her forty-meter-long greatsword, the Fourth Raikage, suspended in mid-air, had no time to dodge. The lightning-fast blade seemed to shatter the very sky. In his desperation, he could only roar and raise his arms, attempting to defend with his vambraces.
At the critical moment, Killer B—with a sword in each hand, his mouth, elbows, and knees—and eight octopus-like Tailed Beast tails sprouting from his back, rolled forward, leaped into the air, and forcefully parried the blow.
Sparks flew. One had immense power, the other exquisite swordsmanship. Ino's slash used the full power of the Wood Golem, while Killer B had elevated his own sword skills to their peak. In the instant of contact, he had struck forty-nine times, each blow landing on the exact same spot.
The sound merged into a single line; if one didn't listen carefully, it was impossible to discern that it was forty-nine separate strikes.
"Little Ino, don't ignore me!" Yugito Nii let out a sharp cry and entered her full Tailed Beast transformation. Covered in eerie blue cat-demon patterns, the giant two-tailed cat pounced fiercely onto the Wood Golem's back, its claws raking left and right in a vicious tear.
Ino controlled the Wood Golem to grab the giant cat by the neck and slam it forcefully into the ground.
Before she could raise the Seven-Star Sword to pierce the Two-Tails' heart, the Eight-Tails charged like a wild bull, ramming into the Wood Golem's abdomen and knocking her back four or five steps.
Tsunade, the Fourth Raikage, Ino, Killer B, and Yugito—the five of them had started fighting after exchanging just a few words. After a couple of exchanges, they each retreated.
Tsunade stood on the Wood Golem's shoulder, her heart filled with pride at her disciple's ability. See that? Even though I can't use this move myself... she was taught by me!
The Fourth Raikage stood atop the Eight-Tails' head.
The Two-Tails crouched nearby, its body low to the ground, poised to strike.
"Little Ino, what sword is that you're using?" Yugito asked.
The Two-Tails within her said the sword gave her a very dangerous feeling, yet it also felt somewhat familiar, as if she had seen it somewhere before.
Ino wasn't afraid of the Cloud ninja discovering it was the Seven-Star Sword. You say it is, so it is? If you call out to it, will it answer?
However, she didn't want to cause any extra trouble.
She announced loudly, "This sword is called Kumo-giri!" (Cloud-Cutter!)
The distant Cloud ninja were furious. We are Cloud ninja, and you name a sword 'Cloud-Cutter'?
Ino didn't care what they thought. If Kakashi hadn't "registered" the copyright early on, she would have wanted to call it "Raikiri."
The Fourth Raikage didn't want her to demoralize his side. He looked the Wood Golem up and down with a bit of disdain.
