Elisa stormed down the hallway, fists clenched, breathing unevenly. Unshed tears pressed against her eyeballs, making them burn and her vision blur, but she held them back. Just a few more steps… She just needed to get to the privacy of her apartment; then she could let it all out and cry.
God knows with the way her day has been so far, she deserved a good crying session… And it wasn't even noon yet.
She didn't see the person in front of her until she bumped into a hard, solid chest.
She stumbled, heart skipping, but before she could fall backwards, strong hands caught her shoulders, steadying her.
"Woah, woah, lady," a gentle, familiar voice said. "Careful."

She kept her head bent and eyes to the floor, trying to hide her face. "Sorry…" she mumbled as she tried to go around him. "…excuse me."
She moved to pass, but Jason's hand stayed gently on her shoulder, stopping her.
