Two days later, Elisa was curled under the sheets when the new keypad Cael had installed to replace the old key locks after Rowan's incident beeped and the door opened.

Mira rushed in, looking frantic.

Elisa squinted at her in the dark room. Noting her pale face and nervousness. She got up quickly, thinking something was wrong, rushed to her, and gently pushed her to sit in the couch. "What is the matter? You look like you've seen a ghost."

Mira looked up at her. Opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out.

"Is everyone ok? Did something happen?" Elisa queried her, worried.

"God, you're going to hate me for this... I... I shouldn't have pushed you when you wanted to withdraw..." Mira stammered out.

"Pushed me how?? Talk to me."

Mira closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I decided to go talk to my mom, and... It's true." She opened her teary eyes. "Eli, I'm so sorry... even I can't believe it... I'm so sorry."
