"Fuck, that was too damn close!" Gray said as he got out of bed and looked at what time it was. It was 1:03 AM. Then he grabbed both Hexes and Sona, and he rushed out of his place to the apartment across the hall with some keys and unlocked the door fast. Then he went fast to the main room of the apartment and opened the door quickly, then shut it. In the room, both Sophie and Veronica were awake and a little shocked by how close the explosion was to here.
"Are you two ok?" Gray asked as he put both Sona and Hexes onto the bed.
"Yes, dear, we are fine. We are just a little shocked with how close it is to here. Plus, Scarecrow does not explode things like that because the most he does is explode cans of his gas," Sophie said to everyone in the room.
Yet Gray was not paying her any attention because he was looking at a wall but more at what was behind it all to where the explosion happened, as if he could sense something. "Five dead and seven near death," he muttered low enough to where only he could hear himself say that. In two seconds, his whole face went through multiple emotions as if he was thinking at breakneck speeds. He rubbed his eyes and took a deep breath as he said, "Fuck it, we ball." Then he looked at the three women in the room and said, "I am really sorry, but I'm about to do something really retarded." Then he ran out to his place.
Once he got to his apartment across the hall, he went straight to his room and changed into some sweatpants that he could run around really good in, a tank top so he didn't have anything that stopped him from moving his upper body like he wanted to. Then he put on a beanie on his head to cover his hair, a neck gaiter to act like a mask, and some old shoes that he didn't care if they got broken.
After he did that, he rushed out of his place. When he got to the hall, he saw Veronica opening the door of their apartment, mostly to get him, but he chose not to acknowledge her because if he did, then he knew that she, Sophie, and Sona could talk him out of almost anything, so he ran to the rooftop at full speed. When he got to the rooftop, he had to calm himself down a little bit. Then he ran to the edge toward the area where the explosion happened. As he ran, it seemed like he was picking up a lot of speed, so when he got to the edge, he bent his knees a little bit. Then he jumped about 36 feet into the air while going in the direction toward where the explosion happened.
In the air, he breathed in fast. Then he said to himself fast, "Let's go with 40 percent, so I don't get hurt when I land." When he landed on the ground, he left little cracks on the ground, and he winced a little bit from the shock of the landing, yet he started to run half a second later at speeds that were inhuman.
When he reached the building where the explosion happened, he let out a deep breath. Then he asked himself, "What the hell is Bane doing here?" He could see Batman and Red Robin fighting Bane. Then Catwoman was fighting Scarecrow.
He shook his head. Then he started to look for people in the rubble, and he knew his first person was a male who looked about 25 years in age, and he was passed out, so Gray put his hands at their core, and his hands started to glow a golden color. On the male, his wounds started to close and heal very slowly, yet it was still healing. Once the male was healed, Gray grabbed him and put him on his shoulder. Then he ran to the police, and he left the male with them.
He ran back to the rubble to look for more people, and he came across what seemed like a mother holding her son like a cocoon. His arms tensed at what he saw, so he let out a deep breath. Then he picked up the mother and ran back to the police. As he ran to them, his arms glowed golden, and the pair of mother and son started to heal slowly. Then he dropped them off with the police and went back to the rubble.
About 12 minutes later, and he was sitting down on the street healing the last person that he pulled out of the rubble, and he was breathing hard. Then he said, not caring who heard him, "So I can only use REN for 15 minutes at 40% until my aura reserves ran out, so I got to train that so I can go for longer time, but luckily for me, my aura reserves regenerate fast." Behind him, there were a total of 15 people getting medical attention by medics, and he only healed 7 of those people because they would have died without him healing them when he did.
After he healed the last person, he lay down on the floor to relax and rest a little bit because of everything he just did in a few minutes. He turned his head to see Bane and Scarecrow getting escorted by Batman and Red Robin. Catwoman was not there because she might have left since she was a thief, so she didn't really want to talk to the police.
Gray stood up and started to walk away, but then, "Hey, you," so he paused and looked behind to see Batman and Red Robin walking toward him, so Gray started to walk faster to escape them. "Slow down now, buddy," and he went faster.
"No, leave me alone," Gray said to them as he speed-walked away.
"Hey, get back here now!" Red Robin said to Gray as he and Batman started to speed-walk after him.
And Gray started to run away from them, and he started to pick up speed fast. Then he bent his knees and jumped up to a building. On the building, he ran at inhuman speeds from building to building. Then when he got to his apartment rooftop, he calmed down and started to breathe heavily again. "Damn, I got really lucky that I just had enough aura to get home," he said as he walked into the entrance of the rooftop to his place.
When he walked to his apartment, he saw Veronica, Sophie, and Sona in his living room watching the GCN, and the clip of him showed up. Then they looked at him.
"I have a good explanation for this," Gray said.
