Chapter 36 - Wandering a whole new world with the demon child #2

"So where are we going again?" Gray asked the black lady now known as Ororo Munroe or Storm.

"Somewhere that you two will be safe at," Storm answered Gray as she looked at the rearview mirror to look at both Gray and Damian.

"Got it," Gray said as he reached into his jacket and took out a small notepad and a pen. Then he wrote in it, and once he was done writing in it, he folded it two times, then gave it to Damian, who was sitting next to him.

Damian opened the note, and it said inside, 'There is a chance that there will be mind readers where we are going, so be aware of that.' Damian then looked at Gray and nodded his head.

"I want to ask something—how did you know exactly where me and Damian were at?" Gray asked Storm.

"We hacked into the cameras around you two to know where you two were at," Storm answered Gray.

"Oh my, that sounds super illegal."

"Because it is, you dolt," Damian said to Gray.

"...Is there a lake, pond, or something like that where we are going to?"

"You will be stabbed if you even try to do what you are thinking in that small brain of yours."

"All I am hearing right now is how good of an idea it is to do what I am planning."

Storm just chuckled at Gray and Damian as she kept driving.

About an hour and a half later, Storm had finally gotten the three of them to the mansion.

Gray whistled at the mansion as he and Damian got out of the car, and he said, "An old money house design. It's a big mansion, but I have seen bigger and nicer mansions."

"I have too. Father even owns better-looking mansions than this one," Damian said as he eyed the mansion very carefully.

"...You think that I could talk my way into getting BW to buy me some dinosaur bones?"

"Where did that thought even come from?" Damian asked Gray as he side-eyed Gray hard.

"Well, this mansion reminds me of Lockwood estate from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom."

Damian went to open his mouth to speak, yet he stopped. Then he looked back at the mansion for a few moments, then he said, "...You are right. It does remind me of Lockwood estate."

Storm just stood behind them with a confused yet amused look on her face. Then she asked the boys, "Well, are you two ready to meet my team?"

Gray side-eyed Damian, who nodded to him. Then Gray said, "Yeah, we are ready. Just hopefully none of them annoy Damian because he's like a little goblin with a knife when he's annoyed and will start stabbing people."

Damian kicked Gray's leg for that comment about him that Gray said.

Storm just chuckled at Gray and Damian's antics as she led the two boys into the mansion. Storm noted that Gray and Damian walked close to each other with Gray taking the lead while being in front of Damian in a protective manner.

"All the things in here look new for an old money-looking house," Gray noted out loud.

"Well, it's because we have many... accidents here," Storm said to Gray.

"That makes sense considering many kids are here, so things are bound to break sometimes, and how all the kids are mutants like you said, then things are going to be broken."

Damian just stood silent, walking with Gray while taking in a lot of details of the mansion.

Soon enough, they got to an entrance to what both Gray and Damian assumed was a meeting room.

Storm took a deep breath and opened the door and held it open for Gray and Damian to enter.

When the two entered the room, Gray and Damian saw a bunch of people in it around a table with a bald man in the main seat and a blonde woman right behind him.

"You must be the professor that Munroe was talking about, correct?" Damian asked the bald man in a blunt tone as Gray just casually sat down in one of the free chairs.

The professor chuckled at Damian, then he said, "You are correct, young Damian. I am Professor Charles Francis Xavier."

"And who are the rest of these unique-looking folks?" Gray asked the Professor as he took out a small container, and when he opened it, it had a bunch of leaves in it. Then he took two of them and started to chew on them.

The short, rough, and grumpy-looking man next to Gray looked at the container with a raised eyebrow. Gray, who saw that, decided to reach the container to the man to offer him some, and the man looked at it, then he decided to take three of them and put them in his mouth.

After a few seconds, the man looked at Gray and nodded his head in satisfaction with a grumpy look that was slowly starting to relax.

"Well, young Gray, these 'unique folks' like how you put it are my friends that I trust fully with my life," the Professor said to Gray. Then he said to his friends, "How about you all introduce yourselves?"

"Well, I will go first," the blonde lady behind the Professor said. Then she said, "My name is Emma Frost. It's a pleasure to meet you two."

"My name is Scott Summers. It's nice to meet you two kiddos," said the man with sunglasses on indoors.

"Jean Grey," said the red-haired woman who was basically staring straight into Gray's soul with a mix of emotions in her eyes.

"Logan," the rough man next to Gray said.

"Just Logan?" Gray asked.

"Yes."

"Cool."

"Why exactly did you look for me and Gray?" Damian asked the Professor.

"Well, you see, young Damian, this world is a cruel one and has many bad people," the Professor explained to Damian, who had an unamused look on his face, and Gray, who was bored.

"We are well aware of how cruel and horrible people can be, yet that still doesn't answer my question at all."

"I was getting there, young Damian. That portal that you both fell out of has released a decently huge amount of energy that I am sure made many kinds of people's energy detection devices go off, so many people will be looking for the source of it."

"Once again, we are well aware of that information."

The Professor just chuckled at Damian, then he said, "Well, young Damian, let me cut to the chase then. The reason why we looked for you two is because this mansion is one of the safest places in this world to be in."

Gray snorted loudly at what the Professor said about this mansion being one of the safest places in this world.

Damian decided to ignore Gray and his stupidity for now, and he said, "I find that rather hard to believe due to what me and Gray have read on how a good amount of the world views all mutantkind."

"...We can assure you that most of the reasons for their view on my people are very unreasonable," the Professor said to Damian.

"That may be true, yet me and Gray have not been here long enough to make our own proper judgment call," Damian said to the Professor.

"Do you know how it feels to be judged, beaten, and belittled on a daily basis by nearly the whole world?" Scott asked Damian. Then he said, "Because we do, for nearly the fact that we have powers that we didn't ask for at all. My people are mistreated or killed almost every day, so that will make some of my people act out violently in response to how we are treated every day."

Damian just looked at Scott as Scott kept going, "They have made robots called Sentinels that are purely made to hunt down my people to kill them with no mercy at all, or worse of all, they would capture them and then experiment on them horribly for their powers, yet the media will never tell you that at all, so I would advise you not to trust the media at all."

Damian smirked for only a second, then he said as he finally sat down, "Fine, me and Gray are willing to stay here."

The Professor smiled and said, "That is a wonderful choice, but may I ask one question?"

"Go ahead."

"Are one of you a mutant or something similar to that?"

"I am," Gray said as he raised his hand.

"May we know what it is?"

Gray just inhaled, then he exhaled, and a little bit of fire came out along when he exhaled.

"Ah, so you can breathe out fire?"

"Yep."

"What else can you do?" Jean asked Gray.

"Things."

"What kind of things?"

"Things."

"Are you going to answer my question with a proper answer?"

"Nah, not really."

"Ororo, please take these two young men to their new room."

"Yes, Professor," Storm said as she gestured for Gray and Damian to follow her.

Once Storm, Gray, and Damian left the room, the Professor sighed, and Emma just chuckled.

"The older brat has a magical crossbreed of weed and mint that is able to get me high as fuck right now, and it was only a leaf of it too," Logan said loudly.

"How are you sure it's magical?" Scott asked.

"I have been around magic long enough in my lifetime to be able to sense it. Also, the older brat's got the same kind of relaxedness that someone with strong regeneration has, and his scent smells like a damn fucking bonfire in autumn."

"Is there anything else you notice about him or young Damian, Logan?" the Professor asked Logan.

"...The younger brat is a trained killer—that much is clear. And also, his scent is kind of similar to Gray's, so they might be relatives of some kind. My guess is that they are like distant cousins."

"...Gray has a presence like the light side of the Phoenix Force that is more peaceful, calm, and more pure," Jean said out loud.

"What?" everyone said at once at what she said.

"Jean, we need you to explain right now on what you mean by that," Scott said as he was now sitting down properly to listen.

"His presence feels like a more calm, peaceful, and purer version of the light side of the Phoenix Force. Also, I felt very deep inside of my mind that it was recovering at a very slow rate the moment that he walked into the mansion," Jean explained to everyone in the room. Then she kept going, "Then there is his aura—it felt like flames that are controlled to only feel warm and not hot at all."

The whole room went silent at what Jean had explained. Scott muttered something under his breath. Logan reached into his jacket and pulled out a bottle of whiskey, then he started to drink it.

"...Then there is how the Phoenix Force feels about him," Jean said to them.

"Fucking hell..." Scott said with a sigh. Then he said, "Go on."

"She is urging me to be a mother to him. She wants me to nurture him into something greater than her."

"Greater than her?" the Professor asked.

"She kept insisting that Gray has potential to be greater than her by a lot."

"And I thought this was just going to be the typical multiverse mixup, but no, it is not."

"And the Phoenix Force could not get into his head at all."

"...Yeah, I'm going to go get blackout drunk in my room," Scott said as he got up and left the room.

[AN: Hello goblins, it your favorite Hispanic Daddy here with a new chapter so y'all better be happy or daddy with be angry.

I was thinking if I should keep this whole Arc just in third person view but I thinking about making where you can hear Gray and Damian thoughts a little bit so you can know the reasons behind their choices, but y'all tell me if I should do that.

Now let explain on how Essences work in my whole omniverse cause all my stories belong it the same omniverse, anyways as I was saying is that Essence are kind of like concepts like the Essence of Healer make Gray the concept of Healer in general meaning that he the truthiest Healer to ever exist. Now Essences can never be stolen or copy in my omniverse.

Fun fact that Rouge powers don't work on Gray in the way it suppose to work like it can not take away his life force nor can it take away his Essence or use his Essence at all but it can absorb some of his skills, powers and muscle memories, but that is if he allows it to happen but Gray is one bored dude that let his curiosity to lead some of his choice making skills so he will allow it to happen to him most likely.]
