Chapter 208: The Magnetic Field Rotation of the Divine Light Virus!
Magneto, Erik, had been on the run for nearly a year now—but he was still just a kid.
Filled with hatred, he was both honing his powers and thinking about how to kill Sebastian Shaw.
And then, out of nowhere, Chang Wei suddenly appeared in front of him.
"Young man, would you like to become my subordinate?"
Those words from Chang Wei, overheard by the Red Devil and others who had just caught up, left them in tears. Why were they always treated like lackeys, while this snot-nosed brat got to be called a subordinate?
"Who are you?"
Little Erik was startled. Chang Wei felt incredibly strange to him—especially the people crawling on the ground near him, which made the whole scene even more bizarre.
"Don't worry. We're the same kind," Chang Wei said with a smile, and at the same time, he extracted Erik's X-gene.
Electromagnetic force—acquired!
Inviting little Magneto to be his subordinate had just been a passing whim. Whether the kid agreed or not didn't matter, because right now, Chang Wei's focus was entirely on electromagnetic force.
According to basic physics, magnetism is essentially the result of electrons spinning on their own axes and orbiting atomic nuclei. Iron, for instance, is good at forming orderly arrangements of spinning electrons, which generates a magnetic field.
Other materials, on the other hand, are disordered—the magnetic fields of their atoms cancel each other out, so no external magnetic field is observed.
And with little Erik staring at him in total confusion, Chang Wei vanished without a trace.
The utterly bewildered Erik had no idea what had just happened.
Chang Wei, meanwhile, had begun testing electromagnetic force.
He shifted his perception of the surrounding environment to view it in terms of electromagnetic energy. He could now sense the natural magnetic aura around living organisms.
He could even manipulate matter at the subatomic level to achieve specific effects.
As is well known, all matter can be magnetized—it's just that most substances lack ferromagnetism (in simple terms, they can be magnetized, but once the external magnetic field is removed, they don't retain any magnetic properties).
Due to particle spin, there's an intrinsic magnetic moment, meaning it doesn't matter if you're dealing with ions, quantum states, gases, or even quarks—everything can be manipulated with a magnetic field.
According to relativity, electromagnetic fields have mass and exhibit relativistic effects (just like gravitational fields).
Since all interactions between atomic nuclei and electrons—like van der Waals forces, chemical bonds, and so on—are fundamentally electromagnetic in nature, every chemical reaction and mechanical phenomenon (like friction or collision) is influenced by electromagnetic variations.
The kind of energy needed to induce relativistic effects is astronomical—but luckily, astronomical energy is the one thing Chang Wei has in abundance.
Electromagnetic force is one of the fundamental forces of the universe. Everything is affected by it—especially on the microscopic scale.
If you could produce a magnetic field small enough in volume and gain precise control over protons and electrons, then you'd basically be manipulating all of existence. Even neutrons have magnetic orbits—it's just that Chang Wei's current observational precision probably isn't there yet.
Right now, he could dismantle atoms directly. In the world of Saint Seiya, that's the equivalent of mastering the power to pulverize atoms!
Of course, all this is based on human theoretical science, which shouldn't be taken as absolute truth. Humanity hasn't truly grasped a single universal truth yet.
At the very least, Chang Wei has already discovered plenty of inconsistencies. He wasn't sure whether the parameters of this universe differed from those of his original world, or whether the discrepancies were due to the nature of his electromagnetic mutant ability.
But who cares? Chang Wei certainly didn't plan on going down the path of traditional science.
"I remember… the prerequisite for Magnetic Field Rotation is a psychic current push…"
Chang Wei coveted Magnetic Field Rotation immensely. Never mind that every Magnetic Martial God in the series was a complete lunatic—their power ceilings were simply too high.
Even if he couldn't replicate it perfectly, getting close would already be a huge win.
In the manga, Magnetic Field Rotation is an innate ability that can be cultivated—it's not something just anyone can have.
It works by generating a psychic current push through conscious effort, using the principles of electromagnetism to activate one's magnetic field and eventually connecting to and mastering the magnetic field of the entire universe.
By consciously rubbing one's cells at high speed, electrical energy is produced. This is called the psychic current push.
Then, with even faster cell friction, a powerful magnetic field is generated. This grants immense power and allows one to affect the entire cosmos. This is Magnetic Field Rotation.
Once someone possesses this ability and continues cultivating it—they can strengthen their body, restructure cells, harden matter, read thoughts, transmute materials, control natural phenomena, and at the highest level, even manipulate life, causality, destiny, space, and time itself.
Its destructive potential increases as one grows in power—early stages allow for shattering mountains, destroying cities, annihilating nations; later stages can sink continents, split oceans, wipe out worlds, explode stars and entire galaxies. Ultimately, the user could even destroy or reset the universe itself.
However, Magnetic Field Rotation is affected by surrounding magnetic environments. Some fields can suppress its potential or accelerate training.
But now that Chang Wei possesses the mutant power of electromagnetic force—even Magneto could create a magnetic field twenty times stronger than Earth's gravity—he could go far beyond that, reaching magnetic field strengths tens of thousands of times greater than the Sun's gravity.
The upper limit of Magnetic Field Rotation is an unspeakable, nearly limitless power—far beyond even the Dragon Ball series' standards. It includes spatial and temporal manipulation, and even resurrection on a cosmic scale—resetting the entire world and bringing everyone back to life. That alone makes it virtually omnipotent.
It can also develop other powers (or more accurately, other uses of magnetic force). The White Universe of Evil White and the Dark Firmament of Dark Sky are expressions of white-hole and black-hole abilities. Opening portals and creating clones are all within reach.
With just the strength of twenty-odd units, one could start developing psychic powers. At the ultimate tier, users of magnetic force can access unified force-level power (the combination of the four fundamental forces). At that point, they all possess a primordial spirit—essentially a scientific version of spiritual cultivation.
To have Magneto's mutant power and not pursue the Magnetic Field Rotation path would be an unforgivable waste.
The scientific version of God is impressive—but Chang Wei preferred the Martial God version of the Creator!
"Come, Divine Light Virus—show me your limit. Max out my electromagnetic force evolution!!"
Chang Wei was now making his attempt. This was a challenge of the highest order. If he failed—well, not much he could do about it. He could only hope to one day cross over to the world of Sea Tiger and experience the infection of Magnetic Field Rotation firsthand.
But deep down, he still hoped to succeed. Because if he did, he would gain the power to surpass everything.
Chang Wei's own biological magnetic field began growing exponentially. The cost: the system's stored gene points were rapidly depleting.
This time, it wasn't the system driving the process—but the Divine Light Virus had replaced the system's function. The system's supreme might only worked through the virus, so the Divine Light Virus was evolving according to Chang Wei's will and intent.
