"No!" Rojen's smile vanished as he pulled his hand back, shaking his head.
"It's a prediction!"
"Prediction?!" Crocodile frowned. He had never heard a Devil Fruit ability described in such an abstract way and was completely baffled.
"What exactly kind of power is that?" Rayleigh asked, intrigued.
"As the name implies," Rojen replied with a triumphant grin, "whatever I predict will come true!"
Both Rayleigh and Crocodile were momentarily stunned into silence.
Anyone who pondered it for a second understood the terrifying, almost godlike scope of the power. If whatever you predicted became reality, that meant he could impose his will on the world!
It was an utterly outrageous concept.
"That's… terrifying," Crocodile muttered, utterly dumbstruck. He genuinely considered the thought of swapping places with his captain.
"What an amazing ability!" Rayleigh shook his head in pure wonder.
"Don't get too carried away," Rojen said, offering a wry smile. "The fruit's power is indeed insane, but it's also extremely difficult to use effectively."
"As you've seen, right now I can only realize small things, make a sofa break, make someone trip, give someone a stomachache. To really wield this power depends entirely on the user's mental strength."
"And there are many limitations and specific rules, so it isn't quite as exaggerated as you might imagine."
Rayleigh nodded thoughtfully. "Even so, once you mature and your mental strength becomes enormous, the effects this fruit can produce will be horrifying."
Rojen readily admitted the truth: he had only just eaten the Devil Fruit and was completely unfamiliar with its limits. Once he mastered it and his mental capacity increased, the potential was indeed terrifying.
But the fact that the power was tied to his mental strength was also a frustration, it was like having a completely separate blue gauge appear out of nowhere. Once that 'mana' was depleted, he couldn't use the power; in severe cases, he might even pass out from the strain.
Rojen spent the rest of the day thoroughly studying his newly acquired ability.
In the end, he discovered the fruit, which he named the Prophecy-Prophecy Fruit, actually had two distinct, godlike functions.
"The first is what I showed you. Given its current limited strength, let's call it Small Prophecy."
"It makes my words become law, a form of causality. I state the effect first, and the cause is forced to follow. It is terrifying in its simplicity."
"When I get stronger, I might even be able to realize the Great Prophecy!"
The Great Prophecy would be an utterly formidable technique. In Western mythology, a deity declaring events into being, "God said, 'Let there be light'... God said, 'Let there be wind'...", would be the equivalent of this power. It was the closest thing to cosmic creation.
"The second function is a passive ability that can be used anytime without consuming my mental energy."
Rojen was very pleased with this passive ability. Compared to the draining Great Prophecy, this second power was immediately useful.
"Prediction!"
The second ability is true foresight. The fruit allows him to precisely foresee future events. Of course, this power is currently limited. Right now, he can only predict events 0.2 seconds into the future from his present moment, and it's limited to himself and his immediate surroundings.
"I don't know if there are other abilities yet. But development is the key," Rojen mused. "In the future, I have hope of taking this further."
Rojen realized the potential of the Prophecy-Prophecy Fruit was limitless.
"It touches on causality, time, and foresight… I can develop along all those directions. One day, this fruit will truly bloom and reveal its light!"
Every Devil Fruit starts weak, but with enough effort, it can become terrifying. This proved that the truly powerful thing was the user, not the fruit itself.
If this fruit were given to a weakling, they might spend their entire life only ever developing it to the point of making someone trip.
But Rojen believed he could bring this fruit's true power to fruition.
When that day came, even alone, he would be a genuine force of nature.
The night passed quickly. Rojen slept early and soundly, waking up before dawn.
Today was the day he had arranged to make his move with Trens.
Outside Shakky's bar, Rojen murmured to himself, "Today, let this island descend into chaos. It's our chance to act!"
Crocodile had already gone to meet up with Jason to link with Trens' forces. They were merely waiting for the signal; once Rojen gave it, the coordinated attack would begin.
"Rayleigh, I'm counting on you," Rojen said, his expression unusually serious as he addressed the legendary pirate beside him.
"Sigh… I feel like I've grown old, yet you young fools keep insisting I haven't. What a bothersome life," Rayleigh said, shaking his head with a tired but amused smile. A fencing sword hung at his waist as he slowly faded into the distance.
"You're still old but vigorous! I know you're still charming those young ladies!" Rojen burst out laughing.
Then, he too turned and walked away.
A short time later, a young figure quietly appeared before the Marine base on the Sabaody Archipelago.
He wore a monkey mask and a black outfit, standing silently at the entrance, observing the Marine patrol for a while.
"It's about time to begin."
He murmured softly, then, without a sound, he lit a fuse.
"Xiū xiū xiū!"
In the Sabaody Archipelago's Groves 1 through 20, dazzling streaks of light shot into the sky. A moment later,
BOOM!,
fireworks exploded in a massive display.
"What's that?" Marines on patrol looked up, momentarily dazed by the sudden pyrotechnics.
But the next second, their expressions changed drastically.
"Kill!!"
"Take Sabaody Archipelago! Slaughter those damn Marines!"
"Nothing can stop a pirate's freedom! Brothers, charge!!"
Squads of pirates, already organized and divided into attacking units, suddenly appeared from all directions. Brandishing cutlasses and pistols, their faces were twisted with feral ferocity and radiating killing intent as they rushed the unsuspecting Marine garrisons.
The peaceful morning was shattered in an instant. Pirate battle cries erupted across the Archipelago's 1–20 districts, plunging the entire Marine presence into immediate, catastrophic chaos.
"Not good! Admiral Zephyr!" A soldier burst into the Marine garrison headquarters, shouting in panic.
"What happened?" Zephyr, who had just finished dressing, his injuries mostly healed, asked, his voice deep and steady.
"Pirates! Pirates have overrun districts 1 through 20! Our troops are being pushed back, they're everywhere!" The soldier's voice trembled with urgency.
"Pirates again…" Zephyr's expression darkened into a scowl. He strode out of his quarters with heavy, determined steps.
"Rally the troops. This time, there would be complete suppression. Leave no one alive!"
Outside the Marine base, Rojen stood with a faint smile, watching the massive flood of Marines rushing out to meet the overwhelming threat.
"System, spend 600 million for a random summon."
"Confirmed."
A spinning roulette wheel appeared before Rojen's eyes. In the next moment, a man in a long, ancient robe with graying temples stepped forth.
His face was stern, his aura sharp and oppressive, like an unsheathed blade ready to strike. Sword Energy radiated from him, cold enough to chill the entire land.
Before Rojen could even blink, the man had already merged with him, becoming one with his host.
An earth-shattering surge of power erupted from Rojen's body, a force so potent it seemed capable of slicing through mountains and rivers alike.
