In a dark room with candles flickering to light small patches of golden light, windows blocked with thick black curtains with a noble emblem. Several men and women sat around a long table with an elderly male with sunken eyes and dull blue eyes at the head seat.
"So the hero has made contact with the beast?" The elderly man's hoarse voice filled the room, like his old, withered hands dragging across everyone's ears.
A simple question.
"Yes. It seems the two clashed in the occupied city of Luka." A handsome young man with blonde hair spoke first, his eyes the same blue as the old man's.
"I see... what else?"
Although the people knew the old man probably understood what happened more than they did, he still tested and asked them questions about information he had already received.
"The hero has made little progress after being defeated by a goblin; after that, he lost to the monster ruling over Luka and suffered a harsh rebuke."
