Chapter 248 - Chapter 248 : Unknown Enemy? !

After listening to the other party's words, Finn suddenly fell into deep thought. What was going on?

Was there a new enemy?

Logically speaking, it shouldn't be. For the people of Asgard, these were days of recently regained peace.

It was precisely because of this that the whole of Asgard hadn't suffered any significant damage.

But even so, the actual facts far exceeded their initial expectations.

"Do you know where those enemies came from?"

The witch seemed unable to hold back her temper and immediately questioned the two of them.

The others looked at each other, seemingly sharing a moment of bewilderment in their eyes, then shook their heads one after another and replied in unison, "We don't know, but the only difference is that those enemies are massive, like giants."

Hearing this, Finn's expression shifted slightly.

Very massive?

Like giants?

Judging from those two pieces of information, if his guess was correct, it was highly likely the same giants he had encountered before.

But those beings existed between illusion and reality. In the truest sense, if one wanted to defeat them, they would have to enter that special dimension.

Otherwise, any attack wouldn't have much effect at all.

It was for this reason that his mind immediately went to that possibility.

However, what the others were describing seemed to differ from his own experience.

Seeing Finn silently contemplating beside them, and suspecting he might have an idea, Thor immediately asked, "Finn, do you know something?"

After saying this, the others turned their attention toward him as well, as though eager to gain some valuable insight.

Finn nodded and chose not to conceal anything. He shared with them the details of what he had encountered.

After listening to his explanation, Thor's expression shifted slightly. "So, the enemies we encountered must be the same as yours. Same situation. Most importantly, they exist within illusion. When we fought them, it was completely impossible to land a hit. It was infuriating."

As he said this, his voice dipped in frustration, and he took a sharp breath.

"It doesn't matter. What matters is that you survived. Once you've recovered, I'll go with you to destroy them," the witch declared.

At this, she showed clear resentment, because the demon races had already become an ongoing thorn in her side.

It was precisely due to that history that her anger only grew when she heard more of it.

After all, no one had been able to properly eliminate them.

Because of everything they'd caused, she now despised these enemies to the bone, without an ounce of pity or forgiveness.

"Thank you. If it hadn't been for your help this time, Thor and I probably wouldn't have made it," Valkyrie said sincerely, her words heavy with gratitude and completely genuine.

"That's right. We were in deep trouble this time," Thor added quickly, a wry smile crossing his face.

For him, this had been a rare and unsettling experience. Although his strength had long since reached incredible levels, in front of these mysterious enemies, he felt startlingly powerless.

Even he hadn't been their equal.

"Let's talk about the rest after you all get some rest," Finn said calmly.

Though the mysterious enemy wouldn't reveal themselves for several more months, the present threats still needed immediate resolution.

Demons. Unknown organizations. Illusory giants.

All of them represented major concerns that couldn't be ignored. If these enemies gained a foothold, the consequences would spiral into far worse scenarios.

It was for this very reason that Finn knew every issue had to be dealt with thoroughly.

Over the next few days, Finn offered an extra room for them to rest. Thor and Valkyrie took time to recover physically and mentally.

That peaceful window lasted for half a month.

During that time, everyone felt a rare sense of calm, as if they had cast aside all their burdens. There was a peaceful stillness, free of tension or negative thoughts.

"In that case, let's set off as soon as possible. Asgard has been attacked again," Thor said, not allowing himself to relax.

That last catastrophe had hit Asgard hard.

It was because of that impact that Thor felt an urgency to return. He needed to handle the aftermath before their enemies could execute any more of their plans.

If those schemes came to fruition, the results would be unimaginable.

"Thor is right. Let's go quickly," Valkyrie said, setting aside her usual demeanor.

This matter was far too serious. Without a concrete solution, the stakes would rise to catastrophic levels.

"I agree with both of you," Finn said. He didn't waste time with further words. He immediately raised his hands, and a dimensional portal formed before them. Without hesitation, they crossed it together and arrived in Asgard.

But the scene that greeted them on the other side left everyone stunned.

Everything was in ruins. The scale of destruction far surpassed what anyone had anticipated. Fire spread ceaselessly through what remained, swallowing everything in its path.

Trees had been reduced to ash. Nothing remained intact. The destruction was vast and overwhelming, and the entire area looked like the aftermath of a cataclysm.

"My God... what the hell happened here?!"

The witch's eyes widened. She couldn't believe the sight before her. If she hadn't been to Asgard before, she might not have believed what she now saw with her own eyes.

The damage spread far and wide.

"As I told you before," Thor said gravely, "those illusory giants invaded Asgard. We couldn't stop them with our strength alone. We completely failed. We weren't even close to being their match."

As he spoke, there was pain and guilt in his voice. He hadn't wanted any of this to happen.

But when faced with those illusory giants, it had been impossible to retaliate.

Even Thor had felt powerless.

Now, the consequences were evident. The very ground beneath them was scorched, twisted. Every structure was either flattened or partially devoured by flames.

The sight of such destruction hardened Finn's resolve. Whatever these giants were, whatever dimension they came from, they had gone too far.

And they would not go unpunished.

There was work to do, and Asgard could not fall further. Not again.
