"Then do you know where it is?"
The Dark Witch, who hadn't spoken until now, finally broke her silence. Her eyes were solemn, betraying no slack or uncertainty.
If the opposing force dared to carry out such a reckless maneuver, it must have had a clear purpose. And because of that purpose, Asgard had suffered such a devastating blow.
Undoubtedly.
That was her assumption, though riddled with uncertainty. And yet, her instincts told her it could very well be true.
"It's not clear yet," Thor said gravely. "But the last time we went there, a tear appeared in the void. We were curious and chose to enter... but by then, it was too late to regret."
His tone was dead serious. No hint of jest. It was as though he were recounting the weight of a battle lost long ago.
"Is that so? In that case, let's not waste time. We can open it again the same way."
As he said this, Finn raised his hand. A golden shimmer pulsed across his palm, and the Sword of the Vishanti appeared in an instant. A dangerous aura began to radiate from him—like a sword deity that had remained dormant for eons.
Boom!!
Without hesitation, he swung violently. A ferocious arc of sword energy slashed toward a precise location in the void.
The unleashed energy pierced the air, splitting the sky like a blade through silk. The fabric of reality trembled and tore apart. Within seconds, the gash widened, revealing a deeper, even more powerful dimension—a mirror realm unlike any other.
"Hm?" Thor's eyes narrowed. He pointed to the tear. "That's it. I recognize that energy. It's the same as last time. I'm sure of it."
"Then let's go."
Finn nodded calmly. The two witches followed close behind him. Neither showed a trace of hesitation—no fear, no doubt.
Thor and Valkyrie, however, exchanged wary glances. They had encountered these illusory giants before and knew just how terrifying their power could be. That memory lingered like a wound.
"What's the matter with you two?" Finn turned back, brow furrowed.
"Afraid of those monsters?" the Dark Witch asked bluntly.
Faced with the questions, Thor exhaled deeply, then leapt forward without another word.
"That's more like you," Finn said, smiling faintly.
The other's courage made sense. Thor had always been the type to walk into fire without blinking.
A gust of energy swept through the air as the party vanished into the tear, entering the rift.
Once inside, the temperature dropped dramatically. The air was sharper, colder, almost unwelcoming. It felt like standing in an eternal ice cavern.
Even Finn, who had seen countless strange dimensions, noticed the difference.
"It's freezing in here," one of the witches muttered, visibly shivering.
"We—" Finn started to speak, but was interrupted by an enormous tremor from beneath the ground.
Rumble.
A violent quake shook the land, and then—one by one—giants emerged from the mists like ghosts that had been waiting all along.
"Looks like we'll finally get a decent meal. And some of these humans don't look half bad," a two-headed giant growled. His voice was deep and cold, and his eyes were filled with greedy hunger.
"These humans are idiots. Walking right into our nest. They must have a death wish," said another giant, sneering.
"Humans love throwing their lives away. It just makes it easier for us. Don't they smell delicious?"
The other giants echoed their bloodlust, their thunderous voices turning the air into a battlefield before a single blow was struck.
The sight made Finn's expression darken. Thor's jaw clenched.
"Knew we couldn't avoid this," Thor muttered.
"No choice but to fight. Even if it gets ugly," Valkyrie said, gripping her spear tightly.
There was no time to worry about consequences. The moment demanded action.
"Hahaha! You cowards refuse to surrender? Fine! We'll kill you and feast on your bones!" the two-headed giant roared, then charged straight at them.
Shhhhhhhhhh!!!
Arrows whistled through the sky, raining down in a fierce barrage.
But the giants didn't flinch. They barreled through the arrow storm with sheer brute force, shattering the projectiles on impact. One giant roared as he crushed the lead arrow with his bare hands.
"Bastards!!" Thor cursed. The blatant disrespect struck a nerve.
"Those arrows won't stop them," the Dark Witch warned, eyes serious. "If they push through, we'll all die here."
Finn nodded. None of them had Tony Stark's advanced armor or defensive technology. If they got surrounded, they were dead.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Another volley of arrows rained down, only to be effortlessly swatted aside. The sky shimmered with the debris of shattered magical projectiles.
"This is bad," Finn said. "Too many of them. And they're immune to most magic."
There was no use prolonging the battle.
"You two go ahead. I'll stay back with the Queen," Finn ordered firmly.
"No way!" Valkyrie immediately protested.
"We came together. We leave together. You staying alone is suicide," Thor added.
"Idiots," Finn muttered, placing a hand on both their shoulders. "I've got a way out. Trust me."
Thor stared at him for a moment, then sighed. Seeing Finn's unwavering expression, he nodded reluctantly. The group turned and retreated deeper into the dimension, leaving Finn behind.
Finn scanned his surroundings. His gaze settled on the two-headed giant.
"Let's go," he said quietly, speaking to himself.
"Humans, you can't escape! We've already locked onto your positions! There's no way out. Surrender now!" the twin-headed brute bellowed.
"You're asking for death," Finn growled.
With that, he launched a punch at the charging colossus.
"You dare?!" the giant screamed, meeting Finn's fist with his own.
BOOM!
Their fists collided. A shockwave tore through the dimension, blanketing the area in thick smoke.
"Did he just challenge a giant?!" Thor gasped from the distance.
They had seen what these creatures could endure. Even Thor's full-strength hammer strikes hadn't broken through their defenses.
Finn's punch didn't even scratch the creature. Instead, he felt the painful recoil through his arm.
"So this is their defense," Finn muttered, wincing. His fist throbbed, his bones screaming. Something inside him shifted—a strange, foreign energy writhing within.
"Surrender while you can!" the giant laughed, baring his massive teeth.
Suddenly, the giant opened his mouth wide and released a massive blast of flame.
The inferno rushed at Finn like a meteor.
