Chapter 34 - "You want to leave for a mission, right?"

In the commander's tent, Shikakuro looked at the report regarding the encounter with Iwa Ninjas. In front of him sat Tsunade, who had been called by him, and when Shikakuro was done reading the report, he looked at Tsunade.

"You want to leave for a mission, right?"

It's been two days since Tsunade and Akane came to camp, and he has been taking note of their actions. He was expecting her to finish her work in three or four days, but in just two days, almost all the problems regarding the medical camp had been solved.

'That boy is a genius. It wouldn't be wrong to consider him as the next Tsunade. Still, he is also as excellent in fighting as he is in Medical Ninjutsu.'

'Not only this, he had adapted to the camp way earlier than I expected, and after completing a few missions, he could be considered a full-fledged Jonin.'

While Shikakuro thought of these things, Tsunade, who had made up her mind, nodded at his words.

"Yeah, and I am sure you understand why I am here."

"Hmm," Shikakuro nodded at her words. After thinking for a moment, he passed the report to Tsunade. Even though Tsunade already knew about the encounter, she read the report again and noticed that there was something else in the report she didn't know about.

"Land of rain, too?"

She murmured as she read the report and Shikakuro nodded at her words.

"From the information I have received, Iwa ninjas were supposed to meet with ninjas from the Land of Rain, but for some reason, they didn't. After looking around, I think this is the reason."

"Before, our spy team planned on spying on them and finding out what they were going to but now, I think their meeting has been postponed."

"I want you to look around at these places and find something if you can. If nothing is found, kill all Iwa or Rain Ninjas you meet."

Tsunade looked at Shikakuro as she heard his words. After thinking for a moment, she felt that his words made sense, and she understood the reason why Shikakuro wanted her to kill Iwa and Rain Ninjas.

"I will do what I can. How long will this mission be?"

When Shikakuro heard the words, he gave Tsunade another scroll. Reading the words on the scroll, Tsunade rolled her eyes and again asked, "How long will this mission be?"

In the scroll, the mission duration was written as one week, but Tsunade didn't think it would be enough to look at all the places while enjoying and teaching Akane. She didn't think Shikakuro didn't knew this fact, and in response, Shikakuro passed her another paper.

"Burn it," He said a moment later, and Tsunade narrowed her eyes as she heard the words. Getting the paper, she started to read the words on it, and when she was done reading them, a chuckle escaped her lips.

"So that's how it is." She murmured, and crushing the paper in her hand, she threw the ball back at him.

"I will do what I can,"

Saying those words, Tsunade left the tent, and Shikakuro looked at the crushed paper in his hand. Shaking his head, he threw the paper in the dustbin and murmured, "I hope she does it, though the chances are less."

Leaving the tent, Tsunade sighed and looked at the scroll in her hand. She walked back to her tent, and there she saw Akane sitting with electric sparks around him. Turning to the Shadow clone, Tsunade raised her brows and saw him shaking his head.

A few minutes later, the sparks around Akane disappeared, and he opened his eyes. Looking at Tsunade sitting in front of him and staring at him with a frown on her face, Akane chuckled and asked, "How did it go?"

"Got the mission and a troublesome task."

"Hmm, what happened?" Akane asked with a curious face and dispersed the Shadow Clone he had created. He had been practising his lightning release transformation, and an idea had come to his mind.

'Railgun, I want to try that.'

"Well, we got the mission. It's the one we were expecting, the Iwa one."

Akane nodded as he heard the words. They had already talked about the mission Tsunade would be accepting before, and Tsunade continued, "Besides this, I also got a secret mission."

"What?"

"It's to meet with our spies in the land of rain, but at the same time, send a Shadow Clone here to make sure that we are seen here while we are on the mission."

"Hmm, what's the troublesome thing in this?" Akane asked as he heard the other mission, and Tsunade rubbed her head at the words.

"The camp is deep in the land of rain," Tsunade replied as she thought of the location marked on the map. Hearing her words, Akane started to think, and a moment later, he said, "Details of spies?"

"No, leave that. Didn't I say that we would be using our skills, and this is training for you?"

"Huh? But didn't you—" "Shh, that's different, okay?"

Akane rolled his eyes as he heard her shameless words, and looking at her expression, he knew she wouldn't take no as an answer.

"Alright,"

In the end, Akane agreed to her words, and Tsunade nodded with a triumphant smile on her face.

"So, when are we leaving?"

"Tomorrow morning. For now, tell me what you are doing. I have seen you using Lightning release, but it felt like you were trying to do something else." Tsunade said as she looked at Akane's eyes deeply. She knew he had been trying to do something different these days, as he had felt a blockage to his strength and chakra. She knew that it was just an age problem, and as he grew, his chakra would get bigger. Also, the fact that he knew this, she understood he wanted to get stronger as much as he could, and if possible, she wanted to support him in it and also get stronger together.

After all, she couldn't forget the night when Akane asked Kaguya to show her full strength. Remembering the horrifying presence and chakra with such calm and serene expression on Kaguya's face, Tsunade still get chills. Also, knowing the fact that someone as strong as her was still sealed in the moon, Tsunade wondered how powerful the other person would be and if people like them existed somewhere.

Looking at Tsunade, whose eyes pupils shrank for a moment and then returned to normal, Akane wondered what she was thinking. Still, he didn't answer and decided to tell her the concept of a railgun in the dream space.

"Sleep, I will tell you there." He said before closing his eyes, and Tsunade nodded at him. Just as she was about to doze off after creating a shadow clone, Tsunade noticed someone approaching their tent.

Sensing the familiar chakra from the person, Tsunade nudged Akane, who opened his eyes and nodded at her.

"You can come in, Orochimaru."

Outside the tent, before Orochimaru could say anything, he heard Tsunade's words from inside the tent, and Orochimaru raised his brows.

'Was I leaking chakra? I don't think so.'

Thinking for a moment, he decided to test it later and for now, he was just here to meet his comrade after returning from a mission. Entering the tent, Orochimaru was about to say something, but his expression changed when he saw someone other than Tsunade in the tent.

'I didn't sense his presence,'

This was the first thought that came to Orochimaru's mind when he saw the unknown boy in Tsunade's tent, and not the fact that someone else was in Tsunade's tent. After all, he knew that if someone was in her tent, it must be because he had been permitted by her.

Orochimaru narrowed his snake-like eyes and, in an amused expression, he said, "Pink hair, young and together alone in the tent. So this is your preference, Tsunade."

Tsunade, who was about to introduce Akane, was dumbfounded by Orochimaru's remark, and even Akane, who had a different impression of Uncle Snake, the biggest pdf file of Narutoverse, was a bit surprised by the amused and playful remark by him.

'So this is him before he was darkened, the one Tsunade trusted enough to let her brother be his student.'
