Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Defeating Yamcha

Late at night, Yamcha, unwilling to accept defeat, secretly approached John's dome house, intending to ambush them again and steal the capsules. However, he overheard a secret that piqued his interest.

He was hiding under the window, which overlooked the living room. John and his group had just finished lunch and were watching TV on the sofa, while Bulma was taking a bath in the bathroom.

Oolong seized the opportunity to ask, "What do you want the Dragon Balls for?"

John replied, "The Dragon Balls are powerful artifacts. There are seven in total, and when gathered, they can summon the Dragon God, who can grant any wish. It's said that the current king of Earth became king by making a wish to the Dragon God."

Oolong's heart raced upon hearing this. He asked, "What wish do you want to make with the Dragon Balls, Goku?"

Goku shook his head and said, "I don't have any particular wish. I just want to go on adventures and fight strong martial artists."

Hearing Goku's words, Oolong felt relieved. He also wanted to ask the Dragon God for the same wish, so he needed to find out the others' wishes and figure out a way to get the chance to make the wish himself.

Oolong turned his attention back to John and asked, "John, what about you? What wish do you want to make?"

John didn't understand Oolong's intentions, but he didn't mind. He was more concerned with how to take the Dragon Balls from Pilaf.

"My wish is simple," John said. "I want the Dragon God to enhance my physical qualities to be most suitable for martial arts training."

Oolong immediately gave John a thumbs up, saying, "That's a great wish." But secretly, he was disdainful, thinking, "What kind of wishes are these? So boring. If it were me, I'd wish for a pile of girls' underwear."

At that moment, Goku asked, "Oolong, what wish do you want to make?"

Oolong couldn't reveal his greedy wish in front of everyone, so he smiled and said, "I don't have any particular wish."

Outside, Yamcha overheard the conversation about the Dragon God's wish, and his eyes lit up. Pu'er, standing next to him, whispered, "Master Yamcha, the Dragon God's wish. We can just ask the Dragon God for a lot of wealth, and we won't have to rob people in the desert anymore."

Yes, Pu'er's greatest wish was for Yamcha to stop being a desert bandit. His school had taught him that robbery was wrong.

However, Yamcha said, "No, I want to wish to no longer be afraid of girls. Then I won't have to stay in this desolate desert. We can go to the city and enjoy life, and I can find a cute girl to marry."

At that moment, Yamcha remembered the girl he had seen earlier, Bulma. He thought to himself, "If that girl is the one I saw earlier, it would be even better."

Pu'er fully supported Yamcha's wish. In his opinion, whatever the wish was, as long as Yamcha stopped being a desert bandit, it was good enough.

After some thought, Yamcha said to Pu'er, "Pu'er, let's retreat for now. We'll come back later to steal the Dragon Balls. You transform into one of them and don't blow our cover."

"Yes, Master Yamcha!" Pu'er happily agreed.

The two retreated and stayed in the car until midnight before returning to John's capsule house.

However, at that moment, Mai and Shu also arrived in their robot, intending to install explosives and steal the Dragon Balls.

The two groups met unexpectedly, and from their postures, they knew each other's intentions.

Yamcha took the initiative and punched Mai's robot.

Mai and Shu were not to be outdone, and they controlled their robot to attack Yamcha.

The fight began outside John's capsule house.

The intense battle soon woke John and his group. The lights, which had been turned off, were turned on again.

Mai and Yamcha noticed this and, after a few probing attacks, retreated.

John opened the door and looked outside but saw no sign of the earlier commotion. It was as if nothing had happened.

Bulma yawned and asked John, "John, what's going on outside?"

John replied, "Nothing much. Probably some animals fighting outside our house. They retreated when they saw our lights."

"Okay, since that's the case, I'll go back to bed. Lack of sleep affects my looks," Bulma said, returning to her room.

John remained vigilant throughout the night, and fortunately, those coveting the Dragon Balls didn't attack again.

The next day, John drove the car, leading the group towards Flaming Mountain.

As John's group was about to leave Yamcha's territory, he couldn't bear to let them go. Standing on a hill, he fired an RPG towards them.

John had been on high alert since leaving the city, and he spotted the RPG from a distance.

John shouted, "Be careful, everyone!" He stepped on the accelerator and executed a drifting turn, changing their position.

The RPG exploded near the car, and although it didn't hit the car directly, the powerful shockwave flipped the car over.

Bulma and Oolong passed out, but John, seeing they weren't seriously injured, temporarily left them alone and crawled out of the car with Goku.

Although Yamcha would become his ally in the future, it didn't stop John from teaching him a lesson now.

Knowing that his strength might not be as great as Yamcha's, John said to Goku, "Goku, this bandit is yours. Teach him a good lesson."

For Goku, fighting was his favorite thing. He happily said, "Leave it to me, John."

Goku quickly rushed towards Yamcha, who initially didn't take him seriously, thinking Goku was just a child he could easily defeat.

But underestimating his opponent would cost him. Goku dodged Yamcha's attack with a swift move and punched him in the abdomen.

Yamcha was in agony, his eyes bulging, and his mouth wide open, but he couldn't make a sound.

Goku followed up with a flying kick to Yamcha's face, sending him flying and knocking out one of his teeth.
