Chapter 07: Opportunities For Civilian Trainers

"Teacher Edgar, their information has been logged into the Trainer Association's database. Our task is complete, so we'll head to other classes now."

After the staff of the Trainer Association packed up the equipment, they handed them over to Machoke.

"Okay, thanks for your worked hard."

Edgar nodded.

There were six classes in the entire sophomore year, and they would continue to log in information for the students in the remaining five classes.

"Julian, I don't know if we will be in the same class," Will said.

"Why do you want to be in the same class as me? Isn't it good to be with her."

Not far from them sat Nora, who would also be entering the Trainer course, but she wanted to be a Breeder.

"She's going to be a breeder, so she definitely won't be in the same class as us," Will was a little sad.

Looking at the sad appearance of the other party, Julian said, "I have a way to make it possible for you to be in the same class as her."

"What way?"

"Why don't you be a breeder too."

"Believe it or not, I'll strangle you now."

Will snorted, just now he had really thought that Julian had a solution, but he was just fooling him.

There were sixteen girls in the class, but compared to Nora's beauty, they were a bit worse.

That was why a hopeless man like Will liked Nora.

But wouldn't it be better to put your emotions into training Pokémon?

"What's with that look?"

Will couldn't help but stretch out his hand and wanted to pinch Julian's neck. The contempt in his eyes just now made him very annoyed.

"Be quiet."

Just then, the head teacher Edgar spoke, and Will had to stop.

The classroom soon became quiet, and Edgar continued: "After the summer vacation, those who are assigned to the Trainer class and the Breeder class must have a starter Pokémon. The Typing and Potential doesn't matter to the school."

"Yesterday I asked you to go home and ask your parents. Will you prepare a starter Pokémon yourself or buy it from the school? This is the list of Pokémon eggs currently in the school's breeding house."

"You all can take a look first. If you want to buy a egg from the school, you can get it now."

The school also had its own breeding house, and some school teachers would also leave their own Pokémon there, and occasionally sell their own Pokémon eggs in the school's breeding house, as a contribution to the school.

An image appeared on the screen through a projector, with a list of Pokémon eggs on it.

The Pokémon's name, potential, approximate incubation time, the level of its parents, and the number of eggs available, etc. were also written on the side, which looked very detailed.

There were 20 types of Pokémon eggs in total, which was a lot more than in previous years.

Though they were the most common Pokémon eggs, such as Pidgey, Spearow, Oddish, Goldeen, etc. Even Catterpie and Weedle.

The potentials were all Yellow, and the price was naturally different for different eggs.

However, the price of the eggs in the school breeding house was about 20% cheaper than that of the same eggs outside. Although the variety was limited, it gave students from poor families the hope of becoming trainers.

Of these eggs, Oddish were the most. Because Grass-type Pokémon were notoriously easy to raise and saved resources, as they could usually be supported by sunlight and a small amount of food.

Though its final evolution, Vileplume or Bellossom needed to be evolved with a Leaf Stone or Sun Stone, both of which cost more than 5 million.

However, after Oddish evolved into Gloom, with the unique odor of the Gloom line, they could often stink many Pokémon of the same level to faint.

Of course, this stench didn't differentiate between allies. If the Trainer didn't put on a gas mask in advance, the first person to faint from the stench would be the Trainer himself.

And Gloom could also learn Poison Powder, Stun Spore, Sleep Powder, Mega Drain and other moves, which were very popular with some dirty routine trainers.

After Oddish, Catterpie and Weedle had the second most eggs available.

Bug-type Pokémon were famous for their fast evolution. A newly hatched Catterpie could often evolve into Butterfree in just a month. And the food requirement was also very simple, they only needed leaves.

Therefore, Bug-type Pokémon could often be raised in the shortest time, though their lifespan was also much shorter than other Pokémon.

Grass and Bug-type Pokémon were the best options for novice Trainers from ordinary families.

Although there were a lot of Pokémon eggs in the school's breeding house, the number of each type of Pokémon egg was limited. Based on the principle of first come, first served, someone soon came to the head teacher and chose an egg.

A total of ten people from Julian's class signed up for the Trainer class, and five of them entered the Breeder class.

"For students who had signed up for an egg, the school will send your Pokémon egg to your home according to the address. Of course, it will be cash on delivery."

The last sentence caused some students to laugh.

"As soon as your Pokémon hatches, register it with the Trainer Association in Lake City. Remember that if your starter Pokémon's level exceeds level 5, the Trainer Association will not register it."

"Especially students who have selected Bug-types."

"In previous years, there had always been a few students, who, because they were so happy that their Pokémon had just hatched and forgot to register with the association. Resulting in Pokémon's level exceeding five."

Edgar's expression slowly turned serious as he talked.

For ordinary families, a starter Pokémon might have cost most of their life savings. And if they didn't register it in time due to negligence, then they would have no other financial resources to buy a second Pokémon for their children.

As for the reason why the Trainer Association of Drakoria stipulated that the starter Pokémon level could not exceed level five was mainly to limit the exploitation of poor trainers by the children of aristocratic families.

If there was no such regulation, the children of aristocratic families could have a Pokémon at the age of ten, or even seven or eight years old. And when they turned seventeen, the level of that Pokémon could even reach forty or fifty. It might even reach the pseudo-Elite tier.

And the underdogs, who were not eligible to have Pokémon in the early days, as seventeen years old was the beginning stage for them.

Class contradictions existed in all countries.

With the emergence of Pokémon, class contradictions became more and more obvious.

Therefore, the World Trainer Association stipulated that all countries in the world must obey their regulations before they could receive a starter Pokémon at the age of seventeen.

In addition, the Drakorian Trainer Association also stipulated that after registering a starter Pokémon, the second registered Pokémon's level could not exceed ten levels above the starter Pokémon.

Though when the level of the starter Pokémon exceeded level 50, this regulation was automatically abolished.

This was also to prevent people of some aristocratic families from taking advantage of loopholes, preventing them from registering higher-level Pokémon that they started training a few years ago after registering the starter Pokémon.

If such a thing was discovered by the Trainer Association, the punishment was quite severe.

So even if people of the aristocratic families had Pokémon in advance, they had to train their starter Pokémon to above level 50 first.
