"Grandpa, kill them all, I'll be fine."
On the battlefield, hearing his grandson's voice over the phone, John burst into laughter. "Good! My dear grandson, Grandpa will do exactly as you say—I'll kill them all!"
"Aggron, Skarmory, Heatran—keep going!" John said with a chilling expression.
At this, Andrew was completely stunned. Watching the three Champion-level Pokémon resume their assault, he roared in panic, "Do you really not care about your grandson's life?!"
"My grandson said he'll be fine," John replied flatly.
The words nearly made Andrew choke in disbelief. 'How can you take such an obvious bluff seriously? Your grandson is just trying to comfort you!'
But the next second, the phone transmitted Julian's conversation with Stephen and the others.
A Gengar had been hiding in Julian's shadow the whole time—and it hadn't even been detected. 'Stephen, you absolute idiot!' Andrew cursed inwardly.
Still, he wasn't too worried. After all, it was just a Gengar. With Stephen and all the soldiers in the military base, how could they not handle it?
But the conversation that followed nearly made Andrew explode in fury.
Julian's other Pokémon were all there too—their Poké Balls had been switched!
'Morons! Utter morons!'
"Hahaha! Andrew, you underestimated my grandson too much! Sending him to your damn country was your biggest mistake!"
The entire call was broadcasted over the loudspeaker. Now knowing that his grandson had all his Pokémon with him—and that Andrew, the only Champion in Wyvernia, was stuck here facing him—John's last worry vanished.
Unless Wyvernia had some hidden Champion-level trainer, his grandson faced virtually no life-threatening danger. Once Julian entered a Wyvernian city, the country would have no choice but to surrender.
Large-scale heavy weapons couldn't be used, and Pokémon battles couldn't be fought in urban areas. With Julian's strength, what could they possibly do to stop him?
"Victor, what are you standing around for?! Keep killing!" John roared.
With no more concerns holding him back, John's killing intent erupted completely.
They dared to lay a hand on his grandson—today, none of them would leave alive.
Pop! Pop! Pop!…
Dozens of Poké Balls flew open at his waist—each one holding a late-stage or peak Elite Pokémon, with three late-stage Pseudo-Champions and two peak Pseudo-Champions among them.
"Leave none alive!"
With a single wave of his hand, more than a dozen Pokémon—most of them Steel-Types—formed an unstoppable metallic tide. Led by the five Pseudo-Champions, they charged toward the Wyvernian army.
"It's over… it's over…"
A Wyvernian general watched helplessly as his soldiers and Pokémon were mowed down like wheat before the scythes of Drakoria's forces and John's Pokémon—utterly powerless to resist.
His face was deathly pale.
Though Andrew looked a little better on the surface, but deep down, he was already planning his escape route.
With John having no more worries holding him back, Andrew knew he was absolutely no match.
Meanwhile, General Sam immediately reported the situation to his superiors and asked whether, after dealing with the Wyvernian army, they should directly advance into Wyvernian territory.
The high-ranking officials of Drakoria quickly relayed the message to Duke and Jake. In response to General Sam's inquiry, the leadership simply replied with three words: "Await further orders."
After sending this reply, the Drakorian leadership urgently called an emergency meeting.
---
In international waters, Duke was in a standoff with Celestria's Karl, with the most powerful naval fleets of their respective countries behind them.
Of course, neither side took action.
After all, both knew the purpose of their presence—there was no real intention to fight.
For the sake of a "godson", how could Celestria truly go to war with Drakoria?
Moreover, a conflict between two superpowers would have far-reaching consequences, potentially allowing other nations to take advantage and rise at their expense.
Upon receiving the news that Julian was safe, Duke smiled faintly and said to his subordinates, "Get ready—we'll be heading back soon."
One of his subordinate was puzzled and asked, "Has Volkaria's reinforcements already clashed with Celestria? So Karl needs to go back?"
Volkaria's biggest dream had always been to crush Celestria. So when they saw their ally, Drakoria, seemingly preparing for conflict, they had immediately dispatched a large fleet under the guise of military exercises to Celestria's maritime borders.
If they truly engaged the Celestrian Navy, given the Volkarians ferocity, the Celestrian forces might not come out unscathed—hence why Karl, their strongest champion, might be withdrawing.
"No," Duke shook his head. "Julian is already safe. Celestria has no reason to stay here."
His subordinate finally understood, and nodded:
"So Pierce and the other three successfully rescued Julian? They did well."
Duke shook his head again. "It wasn't Pierce and his team. Guess again."
Subordinate: 'If you weren't my Champion, I'd have punched you for talking like this. Guess what? I can't guess a damn thing.'
Forget it. I'll find out later anyway.
Duke: 'Why isn't he asking anymore? And what's with that look? Did he have a fight with his wife?'
Celestrian Fleet—
Champion Karl had already gotten word that Wyvernia had failed to keep Julian under control—all his Pokémon were still with him, and he'd already started tearing through their military base.
"A bunch of useless idiots!"
Karl cursed in fury.
Originally, after kidnapping Julian, Wyvernia—knowing they couldn't handle Drakoria or John—had immediately called their godfather for support.
When Celestria first learned about this, they were shocked that their godson had actually pulled off such a massive stunt. Plus, their own five top trainers who'd entered that Top-tier secret realm had all died—and though there was no concrete evidence, it was highly likely that Julian was the one who killed them.
On top of that, Wyvernia kidnapping Julian was actually a huge boon for Celestria.
After all, if Julian was allowed to grow unchecked, the threat he posed to them was simply too great. They'd already been racking their brains for ways to eliminate him—only for their godson to hand them such a big "gift" out of nowhere.
When it was all over, they'd even planned to make sure their godson paid tribute by handing over a few of Julian's Pokémon.
That's why they had to back them up.
To show their support, they even sent their strongest Champion, Karl, to stand guard for Wyvernia.
And now, they were being told that Julian had turned the tables—playing them all for fools.
Furious, Karl smashed the wine glass in his hand on the floor and snorted coldly, "We're leaving."
His deputy froze for a second, then asked, "What about Wyvernia?"
"Perhaps there might not be a Wyvernia after this," Karl muttered quietly.
In the past, Wyvernia had often acted provocatively toward Drakoria, but they never crossed any serious lines. Plus, with Celestria backing them, Drakoria had mostly ignored their antics.
But now, Wyvernia had kidnapped Drakoria's future Champion—their most monstrously talented trainer, who also happened to be the grandson of an existing Champion.
Had they succeeded, with Celestria standing behind them, Drakoria would have had no choice but to swallow the humiliation.
But now they'd failed—and completely enraged Drakoria.
Worse, they'd been the ones to provoke the incident in the first place. There was no justifying this on the international stage.
And so… they would have to pay the price.
