After consuming the Rare Candy, Moltres broke through from the peak of the Pseudo-Champion level to the Champion tier, officially becoming Julian's second Champion-level Pokémon.
When Moltres advanced to the Champion tier, Julian simultaneously completed the second stage of the Main Quest and received 100,000 points.
The remaining Rare Candy was given to Aggron, whose level increased from 86 to 87, officially reaching the late Pseudo-Champion stage.
It was a pity that Rare Candies were too scarce. If there were a few more, Aggron could have reached the peak of Pseudo-Champion level.
---
More than half a month had passed since the Groudon incident, but the event still remained a major topic of discussion. Julian, in particular, had solidified his status as a legend overnight.
He was now recognized as the strongest Trainer in the world—with no one else even coming close.
Up to now, no Trainer had ever recorded a direct victory over a First-class Legendary—but Julian had.
Even though the Pokémon that defeated Groudon wasn't Julian's own but Kyogre, the fact remained that Kyogre was on good terms with him.
Didn't you see? Before leaving, Kyogre even gave Julian one of its own scales—proof of their close bond.
No one was stupid—everyone could tell that the scale was probably a means to summon Kyogre. If Julian was ever bullied or faced an opponent he couldn't handle, he could simply call Kyogre to his aid.
Furthermore, many high-ranking officials from various nations speculated that commanding a First-class Legendary didn't shorten Julian's lifespan—or, at the very least, the cost was negligible.
All the public discussion centered around three names: Julian, Groudon, and Kyogre.
As for Julian, he had been lounging at home for over half a month, living comfortably under the care of Love and Slowking. Life was pleasant and cozy—though they did keep a rather strict watch over him.
At this moment, Julian was sprawled on the sofa, scrolling through TikTok, watching videos of young women showing off their long legs. Some of these legs seemed even longer than his own—they almost felt unreal. But he still gave them a like.
Just then his phone rang—it was an unfamiliar number with a local area code.
"Did Celebi buy something again?"
Julian muttered to himself and then answered the call, thinking it was probably a delivery for an online purchase made by Celebi.
"Hello, this is—"
But the voice on the other end wasn't that of a delivery person—it was Haley.
Julian checked the number—it wasn't her usual one.
"What's wrong?"
He could tell from her tone that something seemed off.
"Let me talk."
Another voice came through the phone. The person must have taken the phone from Haley, and soon the voice continued, "Are you Haley's older brother?"
"Yes."
Julian nodded, wondering if the girl had gotten into trouble.
"I'm Haley's homeroom teacher, Teacher Mary."
"Oh, hello, Teacher Mary," Julian replied quickly.
"Haley just got into a fight with another student and injured them. The other student's parents are already on their way. If you're available, could you come over as well?"
"Of course, Teacher."
"Um, Teacher, may I ask which school and which class this is?"
He could almost hear Teacher Mary taking a deep breath over the phone.
"Lake City No. 1 High School, Class 2, Grade 10."
"Okay, I'll be right there." Julian nodded immediately.
---
Meanwhile, in the teacher's office, Mary hung up the phone and looked at Haley with mild irritation.
"Your brother doesn't even know which school you go to? Are you sure he's really your brother? Don't try to bring in some stranger to pretend—I've seen that trick plenty of times."
Haley shook her head and explained, "My brother is a Trainer. He's usually very busy."
"Oh, a Trainer?"
Teacher Mary's eyes lit up with interest. "What rank is he? Has he reached the Elite-level?"
"Um... pretty much," Haley nodded, thinking to herself, 'How can I tell you he's a Champion? Even if I did, you wouldn't believe me.'
Seeing Haley hesitate, Teacher Mary assumed her brother probably hadn't reached the Elite-level.
"You need to focus on your studies. You know Julian, right?" she asked.
Haley nodded.
"I taught his Pokémon Characteristics class in Grade 10," Teacher Mary said, her face filled with pride.
Like all teachers, she took great pride in having taught someone who could contribute to society and the nation. Even though she had only taught Julian for a year, it was enough for her to be proud of for a lifetime.
"Teacher, you're amazing," Haley said sincerely.
"But you know," Teacher Mary added with a chuckle, "your brother's voice does sound a bit like Julian's. If your brother had even one ten-thousandth of Julian's talent, it wouldn't be hard for him to become an Elite in the future."
Bang!
In the middle of their conversation, the office door was suddenly flung open.
A couple stormed in, followed by a boy about the same age as Haley. He had tissue stuffed up his nose, streaked with blood.
"Was it her who hit you?" the woman suddenly demanded, pointing sharply at Haley with a fierce expression.
The boy glanced at Haley, a flicker of fear in his eyes, but emboldened by his parents' presence, he mustered his courage and nodded. "Yeah, she's the one who punched me and made my nose bleed."
"How dare you, you little brat! Instead of focusing on your studies, you hit my son? Look what you did to him!" The woman stormed over aggressively.
Haley, ever the rebellious child, wasn't intimidated in the slightest. Instead, she retorted mockingly, "Your son is just useless. Can't even win a fight against a girl. And he's out here trying to hit on girls? Please. No girl would ever like a short, fat, ugly guy who doesn't even know his own limits."
Her words were brutally cutting, leaving the boy stunned and shrouded in an aura of utter misery.
"What nonsense are you spouting!" the woman shouted furiously. "It's your honor that my son took an interest in you! Just look at you—you clearly come from some no-name family with no class at all."
"Mam, please calm down!" Teacher Mary stood up, shielding Haley behind her. She had dealt with these kind of parents before—the kind who were notoriously difficult and unreasonable.
Relying on their modest wealth, they often looked down on other parents of ordinary students and frequently flaunted their money in the parent group chat.
This kind of parent was the least favorite of every teacher.
