Chapter 86 - The Veritas Vault

The scene opened inside a vast laboratory, a place that looked like it didn't belong to this world—no, not even this universe. The walls were carved in sleek chrome patterns, pulsating gently with embedded lines of light that shifted in color like veins of living data. Overhead, a vast dome shimmered with a translucent glow, projecting layers of orbiting graphs, molecular structures, and incomprehensible codes.

At the center of this alien facility stood a colossal circular capsule chamber—a structure so pristine and massive it looked like the heart of some cosmic machine. It hovered slightly off the floor, its surface humming with a low thrumming sound and encased in luminous panels that spiraled like rings of Saturn.

Across the lab, hundreds of scientists worked in silence, each stationed at strange, non-physical "screens" made of suspended light—shifting, 3D holograms that responded to motion and voice. The air smelled faintly sterile, with an underlying hum of raw electricity and chemical polish.

Near the capsule chamber, two men in ivory outfits—similar to those worn by Lorriel and Aina, though designed with tailored pants instead of skirts—sat beside each other. One of them leaned back on his sleek swivel chair, arms behind his head.

"Hey Jake," he said casually. "Be honest. Isn't Miss Aina the most beautiful girl you've ever seen?"

Jake, adjusting the translucent lenses on his eyes, didn't even look up.

"She is. But she's waaaay, waaaaay, waaaaayyyyy out of our league."

The first guy sighed dramatically, slouching deeper.

"Yeah, I know..."

Jake added with a nostalgic smirk, "Back on Earth, there was a saying—'The beauty of the moon is to be admired from afar.'"

His friend squinted.

"What kind of dumb line is that? And Earth had a moon?"

Jake shrugged. "Apparently. It's from some ancient archive. Thousands of years old."

The first guy waved it off.

"You're changing the subject again. I'm just saying—Miss Aina, man. That smile could reboot the sun."

Jake snorted.

"You say this every day."

He leaned closer.

"What about Miss Lorriel though? She's... kind of majestic. And she's an elf, you know. That's rare."

The first guy straightened, folding his arms with a grim nod.

"She may look majestic, but trust me—she's the type who'll have you scrubbing the floor with a toothbrush after marriage. Looks like royalty, attitude like a boot camp sergeant."

Jake blinked.

"And?"

But just as he turned his head, Jake's glasses flew off his nose. He froze.

"Mi-mi-miss... Lorriel..." he stammered, pale.

"Yeah, I'm talking about Miss Lorriel, why?" the other guy asked, only to feel the chill in the air tighten around his spine.

He turned—and immediately turned to stone.

Lorriel stood right behind them, arms crossed, the faintest smile tugging at her lips, eyes narrowed like twin daggers forged of ice and logic.

"Is there something else you'd like to say, Surone?"

Surone dropped out of his seat and onto his knees in one smooth motion.

"Miss Lorriel, please forgive me!"

Jake followed in synchronized terror.

"We accept death—but please make it painless!"

Lorriel sighed, clearly used to their nonsense. With a flick of her wrist, she turned.

"Come in."

At her command, the massive lab door parted with a hiss. Rhyes and Neo led the group inside, the sharp tap of their boots echoing against the polished floor. The Catalysts followed behind—Asher chatting lightly with Kiyomasa, while Aina was happily showing Jennie a peculiar flower.

As they stepped inside, the awe was instantaneous.

Minos whistled.

"I'm not even surprised anymore... and yet, still am."

Kiyomasa raised an eyebrow. "I'm surprised at how many times I've been surprised."

Miwa gasped. "Just admit it—we're the uncool ones here. This place is, like... pure sci-fi heaven."

Asher chuckled. "Takes time to become cool, kids. Be patient."

Rhyes approached Lorriel directly. "Should we begin?"

Lorriel nodded. "I'll get the system calibrated. You handle introductions and briefing."

She moved toward the capsule—the Veritas Vault—and began inputting commands into the glowing ring terminals. Meanwhile, Rhyes turned to survey the room. At the sight of the two Supreme Commanders—Rhyes and Neo—every technician in the lab rose silently, heads bowed in perfect synchronicity.

Surone approached swiftly."Supreme Commander Rhyes, is everything alright?"

"Good you're here," Rhyes replied. "I want everyone not related to the vault's operation out of this room immediately."

"You mean... we're using that?" Surone's eyes flicked toward the Veritas Vault. "On who?"

Rhyes turned slightly.

"You've heard the rumors—about the seven zero-star threats I brought in?"

Surone nodded.

"Yes, sir."

Rhyes glanced back. "They're behind me. And it's classified, but they're on our side."

Jake couldn't help but mutter in awe,

"On our side... and we get to see their levels ourselves? That's insane..."

Surone looked back—and froze, eyes wide as he saw Neo and Asher.

"Is that... Sir Neo and Sir Asher?"

Rhyes nodded."Assigned to them personally."

Surone saluted.

"Give me five minutes, sir—I'll make the adjustments."

Neo walked up beside him, voice cold as always.

"Take your time. Don't mess it up."

"Y-yes, Sir Neo!" Surone saluted again and ran off, Jake scrambling after him.

Neo eyed the Vault. "Never thought we'd actually get to use it."

Rhyes nodded. "A brilliant machine. Shame it's been collecting dust… until today."

Lorriel returned, wiping her gloves on a sterilized cloth.

"Toreth did a full check. Everything's running clean, but I still inspected it myself. It's ready."

Ai, ever curious, raised her hand slightly. "Sorry to interrupt... but what is that machine actually for?"

Lorriel gave a nod.

"That's the Veritas Vault. It scans a remnant's true potential, current level, and power type."

Jahanox stepped forward. "What exactly is 'potential' and 'power level'?"

Rhyes motioned to Aina.

"She explains it better."

Aina looked up from her chat with Jennie and stepped forward, fingers nervously tapping together.

"Umm… okay there are two types of Remnants. So... every remnant has a potential—a limit. For example, someone with '1-star potential' can't go above that. No matter how hard they train."

She continued with a sweet tone. "But when someone awakens, they don't start at their peak. A remnant might have 1-star potential but awaken as a 4-star fighter. They'll grow over time to reach that potential."

Jahanox blinked.

"Wait—they also have to train?"

Lorriel interjected. "Of course. No one starts at the top."

Ai tilted her head."You mentioned two types of remnants earlier, right?"

"Yes," Lorriel said. "First are purebloods. They inherit their powers, awaken naturally around ages 12 to 18."

"And the second?"

"Normal people. Desperate for power—for revenge, for survival. They become remnants artificially. But most lose control. They lose their humanity. They become monsters."

"That… explains a lot," Miwa mumbled, rubbing her temple.

"All this info hurts my head."

Asher laughed again."Well, at least now it makes a little more sense, yeah?"

"Somewhat," Jahanox admitted with a grin.

Rhyes nodded."You'll understand better soon. For now, let's complete your analysis and issue your identity cards."

He turned to Surone and Jake, both standing at attention.

"Are we ready?" he asked.

"Yes, sir!" Surone saluted.

Neo narrowed his eyes. "Didn't I say this is confidential? Why are there 19 people in this room aside from us?"

"Sir Neo, all of them are required to run the Vault. It's delicate." Jake answered nervously.

Asher stepped in with a grin.

"Neo, Neo, Neo… Don't stress out, man. You'll age faster."

Rhyes raised a hand."They're all trusted personnel. We're fine."

Then, turning to face the room, his voice boomed across the vast laboratory:

"Now, let's begin the assessment of power."

Just as Rhyes spoke saying, "Let's begin the assessment of power," every personnel in the room got into motion, their movements sharp, practiced, and disciplined. The glowing lights of the Veritas Vault flickered with renewed intensity, casting a silvery-blue hue across the walls. Rhyes walked toward the vault with a calm, steady pace, and the rest followed behind him, their steps echoing faintly on the cold metal floor.

The vault itself was slightly underground, visible through a circular opening lined with metallic steps leading down. Inside, the room was minimal but advanced—lined with hundreds of soft floating lights and several crystalline nodes embedded into the walls.

Lorriel turned to Surone and said, "Begin, Surone."

Surone immediately nodded and stepped in front of the Catalysts. He gave a respectful bow. "My name is Surone Veritas. The vault you see behind you is a machine built by my great-grandfather. It can assess a remnant's full abilities—power type, current strength, even potential. Unfortunately, we've never been able to use it... until today." He bowed again, this time deeper. "So I truly thank you for allowing me to finally activate my family's legacy."

Rhyes spoke next, walking toward the group. "Since this machine can evaluate a remnant's potential, there have been multiple raid attempts to steal it. But because Remnants can't use their powers here, all those attempts failed."

Surone nodded and added, "You don't need to do much. Just walk into the vault one by one and try to imagine using your powers."

Ai tilted her head. "Only imagine?"

Surone smiled. "Yes. But not in the way you'd normally think."

Jahanox stepped forward, curious. "Please elaborate."

Surone turned slightly, glancing at Rhyes for approval. Rhyes gave him a single nod.

Surone looked back at the group. "As you already know, Remnants can't use their powers here. But that's not entirely true. The truth is... the method for using them is different."

Rhyes stepped up beside him. "This place was designed with that deception in mind—to keep Remnants at bay. It's worked in our favor for decades."

Jahanox frowned slightly. "I don't get it. What do you mean by 'method changes'? I've tried before." He lifted his hand and, as expected, nothing happened. "See? No matter what I do, nothing works."

Neo walked closer with a dry, unimpressed tone. "You dumbass brats."

Ai blinked at him. "Excuse me?"

Neo ignored her confusion. "A remnant's power source flows from the forehead—that's how power circulates throughout the body. That connection is what lets you use your abilities."

He pointed at his own forehead. "But that flow? It's being blocked here. And yeah, that stops your powers. Unless..."

Kiyomasa tilted his head, face blank with confusion. "What?"

Minos followed, rubbing the back of his head. "What did you just say?"

Jennie leaned slightly toward Zazm. "Were we supposed to understand all that?"

Miwa, standing on Zazm's other side, whispered, "Are we even speaking the same language right now?"

Zazm didn't respond. His expression remained cold and unreadable, eyes fixed ahead in silence.

Then Asher burst into laughter. "Neo, you explained so much. Please stop."

Lorriel stepped forward and placed a hand on her forehead with a sigh. "Just forget all of that. You'll understand it once you try."

Surone straightened his back and gestured to the vault. "For now, just step into the chamber, one at a time, and follow the instructions."

Rhyes looked at the group. "So—who's going first?"

Everyone glanced around.

Jahanox raised his hand. "I'll go."

Neo interjected, pointing at Zazm. "Shouldn't your leader go first?"

Ai began walking toward the vault, waving her hand. "It doesn't matter who goes first. We'll all be scanned anyway. I'll start—"

Zazm finally spoke, voice low and cold. "Ai. Stop. I'll go first."

As Zazm walked into the chamber, the air shifted—subtle, yet palpable. Zephyra hovered beside him, arms folded, her translucent form swaying slightly.

"I'm tired," she muttered, floating backward lazily. "I wanna lay down in a bed and sleep."

Zazm continued walking, silent.

"It'll all be over soon enough," he finally said, his voice distant.

Zephyra sighed. "I hope so..."

He stepped into the center of the vault, just as instructed. The noise outside dulled to a faint murmur, almost like a memory. Behind the thick glass, the figures of his friends and the officers became shadows. Then a voice entered his head—not the usual, charming tone of a lady, but that of a man.

"This is Surone," the voice said, polite and steady. "Before we begin, please tell me your name. We'll be creating your identity card as well, so once the process ends, you can rest."

Surone quickly caught up saying, "Uhh sorry for startling you."

Zazm stayed still, replying with a quiet, "It's fine."

Next to him Zephyra burst into laughter. "You really thought my voice suddenly turned into that of a burly man, didn't you?"

Zazm looked at her, flat-eyed. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?"

"I'm not—" she giggled, covering her mouth, "Okay, I am."

Zazm ignored her and focused ahead.

"Name and age, please," Surone asked gently.

"Zazm. Twenty."

"Thank you. The machine will handle height automatically. Nationality?"

Zazm was silent for a second. "...Earth."

"Noted. We'll now begin the power assessment."

Outside, tension thickened. Rhyes, Lorriel, and Aina stood behind Surone, observing his interface. Neo and Asher stood side by side, arms crossed. The rest of the Catalysts gathered closer around the vault, eyes on their friend.

Jahanox glanced at Jennie. "Worried about Zazm?"

Jennie shook her head. "Not worried for him. Zazm can handle anything. I'm just… scared."

Jahanox placed his palm on the glass, sighing. "I get it."

Jennie looked at him. "You're always so calm… I envy that."

His reflection stared back at him—quiet, tired.

"I'm not," he said. "When we met Mark… my legs were shaking. I just hid it. Even now, I'm scared of what's coming."

Jennie blinked. He looked vulnerable, more human than ever.

She stepped closer. "Then we'll face it together, like always."

She raised her hand. "Wanna bet on something?"

"A bet?" Jahanox arched an eyebrow.

"Yeah. I bet Zazm's potential is omega class. But his current strength is just a 1-star."

Jahanox smirked faintly. "Then let's bet on everyone's result. Winner gets to choose the punishment."

Jennie grinned. "Prepare to lose."

Elsewhere, Miwa leaned against a rail with Ai, Kiyomasa, and Minos.

Miwa groaned. "How much of this did you guys understand?"

Minos shrugged. "Half. Maybe."

Ai nodded. "A bit more than that."

Kiyomasa laughed nervously. "...None?"

"You're not alone," Miwa sighed.

Ai stared at the vault. "Still, to think we ended up on the right side of this gamble…"

Minos smirked. "Or we'd be in prison."

Ai added, "Or worse—our heads in a museum."

Kiyomasa shivered. "Can we not?"

Miwa nodded. "Zazm said we'd be safe."

Ai looked uncertain. "Maybe. Or maybe we're just living on borrowed time."

Suddenly, the vault lit up.

A glowing sphere emerged from the floor. Zazm placed his hands on it. It pulsed with pure energy, and then—

"Potential level… surpassing one million," Jake announced, eyes wide. "Five million… six—wait—"

The room froze.

Jake's voice cracked. "Fi-Five hundred twenty million."

Gasps rang out. Rhyes and Lorriel stood frozen, eyes wide.

Asher let out a low whistle, an excited smirk forming. "That's just ins…"

Neo didn't move. His expression turned sharp—calculating, wary, ready for war.

Jake continued, voice shaking. "Beginning current power analysis…"

A pause.

"Current power level… four point five million."

Silence.

Total, terrifying silence.

Surone stood paralyzed. Jake nudged him. "Surone—we're starting ability analysis!"

Lorriel grabbed Surone's collar. "Now!"

Surone jolted and started doing something on the screen he looked at Jake and said. "Beginning…"

The sphere glowed once more—then darkened. The chamber dimmed. Stillness.

The Catalysts rushed toward the front.

"What happened?" Jahanox asked, eyes darting between the frozen officers.

Rhyes was still smiling. The others didn't speak.

Asher stepped forward. "Let me break the silence. Your friend in there—Zazm—has a potential power level of five hundred-twenty million. Current power? Three-point-five million."

Ai blinked. "Excuse me?"

Neo walked closer, arms crossed. "Anything above one million is considered zero star. So he's already a zero star threat."

He went quiet.

Rhyes finally continued. "Once someone crosses ten million in potential, they're classified as omega class… Zazm didn't just cross it. He crushed it."

Everyone went silent.

Jennie asked, voice small. "So his potential is omega?"

Rhyes nodded slowly. "Yes. And he's beyond any omega-class we've ever seen."

Zazm stepped out of the chamber, his expression as flat as ever, dead eyes scanning the room. Everyone around him was frozen in varying degrees of shock.

He looked around and asked casually, "Who died?"

Asher walked forward with an excited grin. "That was really cool, man!" He clapped Zazm's shoulder. "Seriously, I'm glad you're on our side."

Rhyes followed close behind. "We'll fill you in on the power readings later—for now, just know this. You're currently the strongest known entity in this entire universe."

Zazm nodded once. "Got it." His tone was calm, detached, like the words barely mattered.

Miwa walked up and poked him in the chest, looking up to meet his gaze. "You should be at least a little shocked. We were all dying from it."

Minos joined her, arms folded. "You absolutely nailed it… but zero class already? No one saw that coming."

Ai crossed her arms. "Guess that training in the Void paid off."

Zazm pointed toward Jahanox and Jennie. "What are they doing?"

Kiyomasa walked up, smiling. "They bet on something. I don't know what, but hey—you did great, Zazm."

Lorriel finally collected herself. "I'm getting too old for this… Who's going next?"

Aina walked up beside her, flashing a sheepish grin. "Don't say that, miss. You haven't even gotten married yet."

"If I keep getting shocked like this, I might die before that," Lorriel muttered.

Neo, however, remained silent.

Rhyes glanced at him. "Why so quiet?"

Neo replied coldly. "Do you really need to ask that? After what we just saw?"

Rhyes nodded. "You're right. That was beyond anything we could've imagined."

"If he ever loses control…" Neo began.

"…then he could destroy it all," Rhyes finished. "But his current strength is zero star. As long as you stay close, you can observe him."

Neo crossed his arms, giving Zazm a side glance. "That's all I can do."

At that moment, the vault door opened again.

Miwa stepped inside.

Rhyes looked back. "Let's calm down and see what her results are."

Neo muttered, "I just hope the others don't have insane potential like him…"

Rhyes, Lorriel, and Aina gathered around Surone, who was focused again. Zazm stood silently, watching from afar.

Zephyra floated beside him, groaning. "These parts are boring."

Zazm replied, "We'll have to live through them either way."

A moment later, Miwa stepped out of the vault.

Surone read the results aloud. "Potential: 25 million. Current strength: 2 star threat. Power: telekinesis and telepathy."

Miwa looked at Zazm and shouted, "I couldn't even come close to you, bro!"

Zazm walked over. "You're still strong."

Before she could reply, Kiyomasa eagerly jumped into the vault. "I'm next!"

Miwa looked down and muttered, "Your power readings were pretty accurate."

Jahanox added, "Yeah, Rhyes mentioned there might be flaws since we awakened early. But you told us our powers correctly."

Zazm said calmly, "I wasn't expecting any errors."

Minos smirked. "Quite confident, aren't we?"

Zazm didn't respond. He kept his eyes on Kiyomasa, who stood inside the vault.

Jahanox folded his arms. "Let's see what our little Kiyo scores."

Jennie nodded. "He should do great. He can control all elements."

A short while later, Kiyomasa stepped out.

Jahanox stretched. "Guess I'm next."

"No," Zazm said. "You go last."

Minos turned. "Why?"

Jahanox raised a brow. "Yeah?"

Zazm replied, "You can use all powers in existence. It may crash the machine because of how absurd your number of abilities is."

Jennie nodded. "That makes sense."

Kiyomasa walked up, rubbing his neck.

Miwa asked, "So? What's the result, Kiyo?"

"Potential: 40 million. Current level: 2 star threat."

Everyone looked slightly surprised.

Jahanox grinned. "You should thank me for that, Kiyo."

Jennie added, "Makes sense. He trained with you the longest."

Kiyomasa nodded. "Looks like it paid off."

Jahanox looked at Miwa. "You too. You're that strong because I trained you."

Miwa shrugged. "Yeah, yeah."

Minos stretched. "Alright, I can't be the only one left behind."

He jumped into the vault.

Neo exhaled. "One monster after another…"

Asher, now serious, said, "But their current strength is still weak. They'll need a lot of training."

Neo nodded. "And that works in our favor. If one of them goes rogue, we can still stop them."

Rhyes stepped in. "They're not dumb. If they were to turn on us, they'd wait until they reached full potential."

Asher looked grim. "So in the end… there's nothing we can do."

Rhyes shook his head. "Neo, you can still handle it, right?"

Neo clicked his tongue. "Don't try me. I can read a person's intentions through their eyes."

Just then, Lorriel called out. "Rhyes! Come here. This one's got a really unique power."

Rhyes, Asher, and Neo walked closer.

Rhyes asked, "Potential and current power?"

Aina answered, "Potential: 37 million. Current: 3 star threat."

Asher let out a breath. "Not bad. Not strong yet, but still high potential."

Lorriel gestured. "It's his power you should really look at."

Neo raised an eyebrow. "And what is that?"

Surone answered, "Quantum matter manipulation."

Aina tilted her head. "What's that?"

Surone explained, "He can manipulate matter at the quantum level."

Aina blinked. "Is that good?"

Neo crossed his arms. "It's beyond good. He can create, erase, heal, distort—basically rewrite physics."

Aina's eyes widened. "Whoa…"

Surone added, "He also has one more power."

Lorriel asked, "What is it?"

Surone grinned awkwardly. "He can talk to animals… birds… and insects."

Asher, who'd been serious until now, suddenly laughed. "Cinderella, is that you?"

Neo clicked his tongue. "So we've got a buffed Cinderella on our team now."

Surone chuckled. "A little strong not too princessy Cinderella, yes."

Minos stepped out of the vault. Surone turned to him. "You've got great power, but I need to warn you."

Minos raised a brow. "What is it?"

"You can't master this power. No matter how hard you try."

Before Surone could finish, Minos said calmly, "Because the power is too complex and the human mind can't comprehend it fully."

Surone blinked, surprised. "You knew?"

Minos nodded. "I'm already aware. Don't worry—I'll make the most of what I can use."

Surone smiled warmly.

Then Asher stepped forward, smirking. "Hey man, talking to animals? That's sick."

He burst out laughing.

Asher kept laughing. "I'm sorry, I swear—just don't kill me when you get strong."

A vein popped in Minos's forehead. "No, no. Don't worry."

Minos smiled darkly. "You'll be the first I kill."

Jennie spoke saying, "Looks like I'll be going next."

Jahanox gave a thumbs up. "Good luck."

Zephyra floated in the air and sighed. "Why are they treating it like a field trip…?"

"You tell me." Zazm replied flatly.

Just like the rest, Jennie walked into the vault chamber and placed her hands on the glowing orb at the center.

When she stepped out, Surone read aloud, "Your potential is 12 million. Current strength: 3-star threat. Powers: illusion and invisibility."

Jennie nervously scratched her cheek. "I wasn't expecting much..."

Lorriel stared at her. "You're still omega class. What the hell were you expecting exactly?"

Asher glanced at her and smirked. "At least you're not Cinderella."

Minos clenched his fists. "This asshole…"

Rhyes stepped forward. "Let's wrap this up quickly. I believe none of us have eaten."

Aina blinked.

"Wait, what time is it anyway?"

Asher checked the time.

"It's almost 42:54."

Aina gasped. "We've been at this for over 20 hours already?!"

Jennie blinked in confusion. "Did I hear that right? Forty-two past fifty-four?"

Asher narrowed his eyes before nodding. "Oh. Yeah—on Euphoria, a day is exactly 52 hours long."

Jahanox tilted his head. "I expected that… but are we talking about 52 Earth hours?"

Neo answered simply. "Yeah."

While they were talking, Ai's scan finished. She walked out of the chamber calmly, but the room suddenly filled with anticipation. Everyone turned to hear the results.

Surone stepped forward. "Miss Ai Hoshino… your potential is… 100 million."

The room went dead silent.

Jahanox broke it. "What the hell?"

Asher added, "That's insane."

Ai lifted her hands. "Wait, wait, something's not right—my ability is extremely basic. How could I be stronger than Kiyomasa or Minos for that matter?"

Lorriel asked, "Are you sure your ability is ordinary? Because from what we're seeing…"

Surone, slightly nervous, added, "Your ability is Total Adaptation."

Ai blinked in absolute confusion. "What??"

Jahanox echoed, "What the hell?"

They all turned toward Zazm. For the first time, even he looked… mildly surprised.

Ai's thoughts started racing.

'Did Zazm read my ability wrong? That doesn't make sense—I've only used heightened senses…'

Kiyomasa asked, "But… Ai can still use heightened senses, right?"

Ai nodded slowly. "True."

Lorriel explained, "That's because you needed to—so you adapted."

Rhyes stepped in. "Your power is, without a doubt, the strongest in this room. Possibly in existence."

Ai's voice trembled. "How is that possible? Isn't 'total adaptation' just… adapting to any scenario?"

Neo spoke now. "Don't misunderstand. Total adaptation includes everything—disease resistance, atmosphere changes… Your body can grow new organs, new blood types, anything it needs."

Rhyes continued. "And not just physical—you can adapt to powers. Learn how to dodge them, or even neutralize them."

Jahanox looked at her, still in shock. "That's not all, Ai. You can enhance your brain. Develop new thought processes. Adapt your mind—you could become a literal genius."

Everyone fell silent.

Zazm finally spoke. "Perhaps… I was wrong about your power. But to think your ability is that insane…"

Jahanox muttered, "I know, right…"

Just as everyone tried to digest that, Zazm casually dropped another bomb. "Ai… you could hypothetically adapt to death."

Ai froze. "What?"

Jahanox just dropped to the ground and sat. "So now we have two immortals on our team…?"

Lorriel clutched her forehead. "This is just too much… How can a power like this exist?"

Rhyes exhaled. "It very much exists—and it's dangerously powerful."

Jahanox stood up. "Guess I'm the last one. Let's see what happens…"

He walked into the vault as everyone else fell dead silent again.

Surone took his place at the controls, but the moment the machine began reading Jahanox's data… Surone froze.

Abilities… hundreds… thousands… and counting.

The numbers weren't stopping. The screen kept loading, scanning… tens of thousands… hundreds of thousands… before the count crossed one million abilities.

Surone was unable to process what he was seeing.

Everyone ran toward the screen, even Ai, Zazm, and the other Catalysts.

They were still shocked from Ai's result—but this… this was something beyond reason.
