Volume 2 Chapter 80: Humanity's Nemesis
The newly evolved Ghidorah stood on the ground.
It had four massive, muscular legs and three golden necks. Its heads no longer resembled insects but instead took on a purely draconic appearance.
Its once membranous wings had undergone a complete transformation. They no longer resembled traditional wings but looked more like jet-propelled engines.
Now, instead of just two wings, it possessed four powerful wing structures. Each wing no longer contained a simple membrane but was lined with rows of jet-like thrusters, spewing forth scorching gases.
Its heads, which had emerged fully, bore a vastly different appearance from their former selves.
Unlike the previous form, Kaiser Ghidorah now had three fearsome dragon-like heads, resembling the largest and most powerful of their kind. However, upon closer inspection, the details were distinct.
Kaiser Ghidorah's heads had evolved from the insect-dragon hybrids of before to purely draconic shapes, likely to enhance their biting strength.
Its limbs had also thickened significantly—scaled up by at least 50% compared to the previous forms.
And with its additional limbs and wings...
No longer just Ghidorah's Wings—now, it was truly a Ghidorah, an entity that overwhelmed humanity with its sheer presence.
It felt less like a mere monster and more like a golden mountain, an unstoppable force of nature.
This terrifying creature likely weighed over 5,000, possibly even 100 million tons.
Its total length, including its towering necks, even surpassed Godzilla's current height, stretching over 1,000 meters. Its scale was so massive that it appeared more like a phenomenon than a living being.
The once-imposing million-ton Ghidorah's Wings seemed minuscule in comparison to this new form—a hybrid of gold and steel.
Yet, Kaiser Ghidorah did not immediately wreak havoc after its birth.
Instead, it merely stretched its necks and flapped its wings, much like a newborn deer taking its first steps, feeling out its new body in the world.
The sky was turning to dusk.
The Ghidorah's Wings had descended upon Beijing the previous afternoon, and now it was the second day's sunset.
The setting sun cast golden light across the land, reflecting Kaiser Ghidorah's form onto the nearby waters.
Meanwhile, other Ghidorah's Wings descended from the skies, landing on the ruins and forming a protective circle around Kaiser Ghidorah, almost as if they were guarding it.
The newborn Kaiser Ghidorah lowered its heads and gently sipped the seawater, while the other Ghidorah's Wings followed suit, lowering their heads to drink as well.
Were they refueling? Or perhaps cooling themselves down?
Humanity did not know. But that didn't stop them from taking the opportunity to launch another round of nuclear missiles.
Whoosh—
Dozens, even hundreds of nuclear missiles streaked across the sky towards Kaiser Ghidorah.
However, the mighty creature did not even bother to acknowledge them.
The other Ghidorah's Wings did raise their heads, seemingly preparing to intercept the missiles, but Kaiser Ghidorah let out a low growl.
Immediately, the others returned to drinking water, completely ignoring the incoming threat.
This left humanity puzzled.
Then, the answer became clear.
As the missiles closed in—just 15 kilometers away from Kaiser Ghidorah—all of them suddenly lost power.
One by one, they fell out of the sky, crashing uselessly onto the ground.
"What... just happened?"
And it wasn't just the missiles.
The satellites orbiting over Beijing also suddenly lost all signals.
"Commander... it's an EMP... a massive electromagnetic pulse."
Reports flooded in from outside Beijing, confirming that a powerful EMP blast had nearly disabled electronic systems in nearby shelters.
Silently and effortlessly, Kaiser Ghidorah had unleashed an EMP field, shutting down everything within a 500-kilometer radius.
No satellites, no missiles, no powered devices could survive. Every single piece of human technology in the area was now useless.
For a civilization that relied on electricity, this was the worst possible development.
Their enemy had found their greatest weakness.
From high orbit, satellites captured images of Kaiser Ghidorah calmly drinking seawater as if nothing had happened.
Silence fell across humanity.
"This... is the Kaiser Ghidorah mentioned by the Venusians?"
A scientist murmured in an underground bunker.
Kaiser Ghidorah was not a name humanity had given it—it was a translation from the prophecies left by the ancient Venusians.
According to Venusian records, during their war against the Ghidorah species, multiple types of Ghidorah entities existed.
Among them, Kaiser Ghidorah was the most formidable, second only to the original Ghidorah.
The Venusians had provided detailed descriptions of Kaiser Ghidorah's appearance—closely matching the current form seen on Earth, with minor differences.
For instance, in Venus's thick atmosphere, their version of Kaiser Ghidorah relied on wing flaps for flight.
But here, on Earth, it seemed to use jet propulsion instead—though it had yet to take flight.
Still, the implications were terrifying.
Kaiser Ghidorah...
The Venusians had documented the creature's existence, but they had never described it being born this way.
They had never mentioned that it could form from the fusion of multiple Ghidorah's Wings...
They had never mentioned this...
What could humanity do now?
Did they have any weapon aside from railguns capable of stopping this thing?
No—forget killing it—was there any way to defeat it at all?
An enemy with such an immense EMP capability, combined with a mass rivaling Godzilla...
Just its size alone was enough to match Earth's greatest titan.
Could they truly defeat such a being?
Humanity had met their nemesis.
