Chapter 115 - The Pain is Mine

(HELENA)

A knock on my door drags my attention from the wall I've been staring at all night.

"Helena? I brought you some breakfast."

Eris didn't need to tell me. Salty bacon and sweet pancakes have been drifting up the stairs for the last hour. But unlike most mornings in Eris's house, there was no singing along to the radio. Just Eris quietly moving around in the kitchen.

I fix my gaze on the pink drapes covering my window. "I'm not hungry," I say, my voice flat and a little hoarse. Probably from all the crying I did yesterday.

"You need to eat something. Cassia and Lucian are coming over, and Cassia said that—"

"I don't want to see anyone, so they don't need to keep coming back here," I interrupt, my voice still as passive and empty as before. I shouldn't be speaking about the alpha and Luna like I get to decide what they do or don't do, but I can't find it in me to care.

"But—"
