CHAPTER 72
The search for Commander Robert intensified. Soldiers moved from house to house. Families stood silently on their porches, giving way for thorough inspections. Each home across the kingdom was combed through, yet Robert was nowhere to be found.
The commanders extended the search to the borders, halting trains, buses, and small cars. Still, nothing.
Commander Steven, the very one who had urged Robert to vanish, was growing uneasy. Each new search made his hands sweat. He hadn't expected Robert's absence to cause this much tension.
After several hours, the commanders returned to the palace. Families across Alagascar waited anxiously for news.
"There was no trace of him," a broad-shouldered commander muttered.
Silent gasps spread. Faces twisted in concern.
"You searched everywhere?" Grace asked in her deep baritone.
They all nodded. "Yes, Your Highness, we did," one said. Another added, "No transportation moved until we were sure he wasn't aboard."
