After letting Brady stew for another minute under Charlotte's intense glare, Dr. Hyder finally invited us all to sit down. He then filled us in on what had happened to Sammy and everything he had discovered about Evelyn.


Kael, in turn, updated Dr. Hyder on the conversation we'd had on the airplane. Like Brady, Dr. Hyder was shocked to learn that Evelyn and Andrew were chosen mates, not second-chance mates. He was even more stunned to find out that Evelyn had been cheating on Brady for a year before the rejection.


Watching Dr. Hyder, I could tell the news had rattled him. He hates being surprised and despises it even more when an opponent makes an unanticipated move. It makes him feel out of control and if there's one thing Dr. Hyder can't stand, it's not being in control.
