Chapter 9 - Title: The Curse of Despair

After the entire army discovered the existence of Maria, Absoria's daughter, a certain tension settled among the generals. Garu, Styre, Camelia, and Celina wondered how the dynamic would evolve now that their master had a child. Maria, meanwhile, sat on Absoria's lap, lost in thought. She was curious to get to know her father better, to find out what he liked, and to spend time with him. However, another thought was gnawing at her, and she whispered softly, "I'm worried about my mother."

Absoria, who had heard these words, was intrigued. He asked her, "I've never asked you, who is your mother?" Maria replied, "Her name is Nitra, but I don't know much about your history together."

Upon hearing that name, Absoria froze. He remembered a distant night when they were both drunk, a night he had almost forgotten. "So, it's her," he murmured, perplexed. He looked up at the sky, his gaze empty. "How is it possible that I didn't know you existed?" he whispered before suddenly crying out Celina.

Celina, who was nearby, heard her master's call and appeared immediately. "What are your orders?" she asked.

"Take care of Maria for now," Absoria replied firmly.

Maria climbed down from her father's lap and followed Celina. Meanwhile, Absoria turned to his skill, Stellearte. "I need this child to become stronger. I'm thinking of modifying her spiritual body, on the astral body, to be like mine. Is that possible?"

Stellearte replied, "Owner, astral bodies are the bodies of deities. Certainly, she is your biological daughter, but that was when you were still a mere human. However, there is a way. By using the small amount of shadow god energy she possesses and mixing it with your energy, concentration could allow her to acquire an astral body. But it could be dangerous."

On Celina and Maria's side, the young girl followed the general with cold determination. Celina glanced at the young mistress and asked, "Young mistress, what would make you happy?"

Maria replied in a firm voice, "Killing that bitch Melia. But for now, we're stuck here, and she's being helped by an unknown entity. I sensed it during my fight with her."

Celina frowned. "It's surely a god of the heavens," she murmured, intrigued. "What do you mean, a god of the heavens?" asked Maria.

Celina explained, "One day, on the 76th floor, our master told us that in the heavens, there are many deities, powerful and otherwise." Then she added, "Young mistress, would you like to go visit the army?"

Maria nodded. "Okay."

Meanwhile, Nitra, in despair, carried the lifeless body of her daughter Maria. She brought her to Quitar's grave and began to cry in the rain. Her despair was so intense that it attracted the attention of an unknown entity. A goddess of despair appeared before her and offered her a pact.

"You who have lost everything, make a pact with me," said the goddess of despair.

Overwhelmed with grief, Nitra raised her hand in acceptance. Immediately, black and white wings appeared on her back. Before leaving, she entered her daughter's grave alongside her father. Her tears mingled with the damp earth, sealing her farewell.

With her new wings, Nitra flew away, determined to spread despair across the planet. The despair that had consumed her was now her weapon, and her goal was clear: to bring pain and suffering to all living beings.

Thus, the world was changing. On one side, Maria, daughter of the god of the Void, was beginning to find her place within her father's army, while on the other, Nitra, transformed into the goddess of despair, was preparing to sow pain wherever she went. The heavens and the earth would soon witness an unprecedented war, a war where despair, vengeance, and hatred would be the main weapons.
