Chapter 75 - Chapter 75: The Final Preparation

Witnessing such a brutal scene, the crowd gasped in horror.

No one had expected Lin Fan's methods of torment to be this cruel.

The two other landowners who had been involved trembled violently.

They were extremely grateful that they hadn't stepped up as the ringleader—even more so that they hadn't tried to provoke Lin Fan.

If they had mocked Lin Fan like the armored landowner had, they would be the ones lying on the ground right now.

Lin Fan sat calmly in his chair, completely unmoved by Lodson's actions.

His expression remained gentle, yet his cold, piercing gaze remained unchanged.

He lifted his head, smiling softly at the village chief.

But his eyes were ice-cold.

"Chief, do you think I handled this properly?" he asked lightly.

The village chief trembled, quickly lowering his head in submission.

"O-Of course… anyone who offends Lord Lin must pay the price."

Hearing this satisfactory answer, Lin Fan nodded approvingly.

On the ground, the armored landowner continued to wail and scream.

He was used to a life of comfort and privilege—when had he ever suffered such torture?

For him, dying would be a mercy compared to this agony.

"Kill me! Just kill me already!" he howled desperately, his body covered in blood and wounds.

His mind blurred, lost in the haze of pain. His words became delirious.

"Lin Fan! I'll kill you! Even as a ghost, I won't let you go! I'll make sure to kill you!"

The unbearable pain had driven him insane.

Some of the onlookers turned away, unable to bear the sight.

Lin Fan glanced at the armored landowner and remarked indifferently,

"So noisy."

The moment he spoke, Lodson picked up a fallen iron sword—

—and sliced off the landowner's tongue.

A guttural scream tore through the air.

His voice grew hoarse, his throat gargled blood—

He wanted to curse Lin Fan again—

—but he realized his tongue was gone.

The armored landowner broke into painful sobs, his body quivering.

But now, he had no strength left to resist.

At that moment, two slaves returned.

They had ransacked the landowner's estate, bringing back four slaves and a fortune in gold.

Lin Fan took the money and counted.

"80,000 gold coins."

A smirk tugged at his lips.

"Not bad. Quite the wealthy landowner."

The armored landowner, now mutilated, could no longer speak.

But his eyes burned with hatred as he thrashed violently, trying to attack Lin Fan.

Yet with Lodson present, such an attempt was futile.

Watching the landowner's pathetic struggle, Lin Fan let out a chuckle.

He tossed the bag of gold to Pande.

"It's yours."

Pande caught the bag, looking dazed.

He hadn't expected Lin Fan to give him the money.

Even if Lin Fan had taken all the gold for himself, Pande wouldn't have dared say a word.

Lin Fan's methods and temperament had already terrified him.

"I… I don't think I should take this…" Pande hesitated.

Holding the bloodstained money in his hands, he felt uneasy.

After all, if Lin Fan hadn't gone after the armored landowner, this money would have never come into his possession.

Lin Fan glanced at him.

"Take it. I'm taking this slave with me. Consider it a purchase."

Lin Fan wasn't a kind person—but he remembered favors.

Earlier, when the armored landowner sought out the village chief, only Pande had spoken up for him.

That was why he deserved this reward.

Hearing this, Pande felt relieved.

Lin Fan was taking the slave, which meant it was a fair trade.

"Thank you." he responded calmly.

Lin Fan looked away, turning his gaze to the armored landowner, who was still writhing in pain on the ground.

He had lost interest in dealing with him.

"Kill him." He commanded flatly.

The next second, Lodson lifted the iron sword and drove it straight into the landowner's heart.

The struggling body stiffened, then fell completely still.

The armored landowner was dead.

Many onlookers hadn't even processed what had happened.

They stared at Lin Fan, swallowing nervously.

They had seen ruthless men before, but never someone this ruthless.

Everyone stole a fearful glance at him.

They couldn't believe that a boy who smiled so often could kill so mercilessly.

From the moment he ordered Lodson to kill, his expression never changed.

It was as if he hadn't killed a man, but slaughtered livestock.

With business settled, Lin Fan didn't linger in the marketplace.

He left with ten slaves.

Five were ones he purchased himself, four were from the armored landowner's estate, and one was the slave the landowner had bid against him for.

A total of ten.

That was enough for now—he didn't need to buy more from Pande.

To Lin Fan, killing the armored landowner was a minor event.

But to the fishing village, it was huge news.

Word spread quickly, now, everyone in the village knew that Lin Fan was a man to be feared.

But to him?

It didn't matter.

When he returned, his Store No. 1 and Glass Bottle Shop had already opened for business.

Lin Fan assigned the ten new slaves to their rooms.

Since the house had only four rooms, he couldn't give each one their own.

He moved Chris and another female slave into the same room.

After settling them, Lin Fan opened a storage chest and took out dirt and oak stairs.

He expanded his single-layer Redstone farm into a double-layered one, then he planted all the seeds he had taken from the Nine-Story Monster Tower on the second level.

With so many new people in the household, a single farm wouldn't be enough.

So, using the remaining Redstone, Lin Fan built another double-layered farm next to it.

Now, with two double-layered Redstone farms, he had a total of 320 planting spaces.

It seemed like a lot, but for over ten people, it wasn't nearly enough.

Unfortunately, his Redstone supply was running low, so further expansion wasn't possible.

And besides—he needed to save money for his shop expansion.

His current land was only 40×40 blocks.

He still needed space for new storefronts.

But before any of that, he wanted to visit the Twilight Forest.

First, he wanted to find the Firefly Forest and bring back firefly lanterns for decoration.

Second, he wanted to compare the Twilight Forest to the one from the original Minecraft.

Back then, the Twilight Forest mod had no inhabitants, but according to Lilian, the current one was full of people.

He wanted to see the difference for himself.

Third, Lilian had been troubled about the Black Maid and the outsider resident.

Lin Fan wasn't the most observant, but even he could tell that Lilian had been anxious lately.

Rather than letting her worry all the time, why not take her to find the Black Maid in person?

After all, that was her sister.
