After the meeting, I made my way over to Blake's office.
"Sir, I have the snacks you asked for." He stood up promptly as I entered his office.
I glanced at the perfectly packaged tray of assorted snacks.
"Say, do you have any ideas on how to cheer someone up?"
"Someone?" asked Blake with surprise. He looked at me curiously from across his desk with an expression that said, 'What did you do now?'.
I looked at him, "A woman. I want to cheer her up."
His expression froze. I could clearly see the shock in his eyes, but said nothing to explain.
After a brief pause, he finally answered, "Well, ladies are usually very happy to receive gifts. Things like purses, shoes, jewelry, or flowers."
Hmm, gifts? That could work, but I've already given her dresses and jewelry.
I pictured the beautiful diamond necklace around her neck and smiled.
She doesn't even know how important that necklace is to me.
