Chapter 405 - Chapter 404: Trading Death God's Power, the Birth of the Death Slayer

After hearing Rhodes' words, the Death God Ynnead's illusory form betrayed no emotion, but the psychic energy radiating from his entire being only grew stronger!

Clearly, Rhodes had angered this Death God.

"You are not yet a true god! You are not qualified to bargain with me! You are merely one of the more powerful beings in the material universe!" Death God Ynnead said.

An invisible wave of psychic pressure bore down on Rhodes. Tartarus, standing to the side, was about to act, but Rhodes waved him off—Rhodes' own mental strength was more than enough to withstand the Death God's psychic oppression!

Frankly, without a body, the Death God was no match for Rhodes in the material universe!

"But as a human, I do have the right to challenge you. I'm more perfect than you. You're just a god in the Warp, while I am strong in both the Warp and the material universe. If I wanted, I could banish you from reality altogether," Rhodes said.

"So, you humans intend to tear up the pact between our peoples? Just like the Emperor once did?" Death God Ynnead replied.

As a god of order in the Warp, Ynnead possessed immense power, but he had yet to be truly born. His influence in the material universe was negligible—less than even a Primarch.

Faced with someone at Rhodes' level, Ynnead had no real way to resist. Rhodes was fully capable of banishing him from reality.

"Don't put words in my mouth. The pact between humanity and the Eldar was made by the Laughing God, the Goddess of Life, and the Emperor. You're just a byproduct!

You haven't even been born yet! When you truly become the legendary Death God who can end the Chaos Gods, then I'll show you the respect you crave!" Rhodes said.

"The Goddess of Life has obtained a physical body to walk the material universe. The Aeldari God of War will soon have one too after his resurrection.

Even the Laughing God Cegorach—if he wants, you'd give him a suitable vessel as well. He can already possess any Harlequin in the material universe.

But I, the Aeldari Death God, have nothing! This deal isn't fair to me.

Anything the other Aeldari gods can give you, I can give as well—and I am stronger than all of them," Ynnead said, his tone softening as he shed the innate arrogance of an Aeldari god.

He had no choice—reality was stronger than ideals, and he needed to walk in the material universe as soon as possible.

The Goddess of Life and the Laughing God's revivals didn't pose any threat to him; in fact, they'd even help his birth since they were all on the same side.

Besides, neither of them liked meddling—Cegorach hid in the Black Library, and the Goddess of Life was even stranger, having fallen for a human and become pregnant with a god-child, leaving other matters alone.

But the Aeldari God of War, Khaine, was different. Once revived, with his Ynnari and the faith Ynnead had just built among the Aeldari, Khaine would quickly take over, given his forceful nature.

Ynnead's power stemmed from Aeldari deaths, but their faith could strengthen him as well!

So contesting faith was critical—unlike the Goddess of Life and the Laughing God, who were beloved by the Aeldari, the Goddess of Life, as the Aeldari's mother, held most of their faith.

Worse still, once Khaine revived, he'd have a body to walk the material universe—a huge advantage!

That's why Ynnead wanted his grand seer to offer up their body for him to possess, so he could temporarily walk the material world, not just rely on an avatar of death.

"I see what you need! The Laughing God gave me access to the Webway and helped me rescue a Primarch.

The Goddess of Life even offered herself to me, bearing my god-child—only then did I help her. So why should I help you?" Rhodes asked.

Reviving the Aeldari God of War was to have him take the hits—adding the Death God to the mix wasn't a bad idea. Ynnead could replace the emissary and formally lead the Ynnari.

Given Ynnead's personality, he'd definitely clash with the God of War, preventing Aeldari unity—a good thing for Rhodes.

Rhodes was willing to help, but had to get something substantial in return. The Death God's power was uniquely valuable.

"What do you want? If I can give it, it's yours," Ynnead replied.

As long as he could walk in the material universe, any price was worth it.

"I'll help you get a complete body worthy of you. But you must give me your true Death God power," Rhodes said.

Now that he had a Slaanesh Slayer and the Emperor's Avatar, Rhodes wanted to see what would happen if an Ace Killer absorbed Death God power!

Yvraine already had resurrection powers for the dead—not perfect, but with system enhancement, who knew?

"Most of my power is with my emissary. Even if I can walk in reality, my divine power won't be strong—I'm not fully born yet," Ynnead said.

"Then give me your strongest Death God power now," Rhodes replied.

"Very well! I accept your terms!" After a moment's thought, Ynnead agreed.

He'd been summoned to the material universe for over two years, during which every death in the galaxy had made him stronger. A little divine power was worth it for a perfect birth.

"Good! I'll use some Aeldari flesh to make you a special shell, one perfectly suited to you," Rhodes said with a grin.

With all he controlled, making a super-beast body for the Death God was a breeze.

"Yvraine! Summon the Death God Avatar—it'll be key material for the Death God's body," Rhodes ordered.

The Death God Avatar, a strange manifestation of Death God power, was like the God of War's avatar, perfect as a fusion material. Once Ynnead had a real body, the avatar was obsolete anyway.

"Understood!" Yvraine nodded, chanted a spell, and summoned her ace weapon—the Death God Avatar, a three-meter armored figure radiating death.

She nodded at Tartarus, who opened a golden portal to send the avatar to Yapool's domain.

Then, by Rhodes' order, Yapool immediately got to work: extracting Aeldari flesh and the avatar, mixing in extradimensional and Warp energy to synthesize a new body.

An hour later, they'd created a body from Aeldari flesh, the Death God Avatar, extradimensional and Warp energy—able to grow huge, but normally Aeldari-sized.

It possessed immense physical power, fully at the level of a super-lifeform, and great Warp adaptability. Because of the avatar, it perfectly matched the Death God's soul.

Seeing this perfect body, Ynnead was stunned with joy—it fit him far better than the emissary's ever had!

Ynnead immediately attempted to possess it.

"Wait—you've not finished our deal. Where's the Death God power?" Rhodes stopped him.

"I won't renege. But you need something to store my Death God power—an ordinary vessel won't do," said Ynnead.

"Don't worry, I have just the thing." Rhodes smiled, spent 100,000 system coins, and exchanged for an Ace Killer.

A forty-meter giant in simple golden armor, with a red body, appeared before the Death God.

"Aim for the green gem on its chest and inject your Death God power," Rhodes instructed.

Ynnead nodded and shot a grayish divine energy, injecting it into the Ace Killer.

The Ace killer's body changed drastically—the red turned a terrifying gray-white, like the color of death.

Its armor turned black-gray, its eyes changed color, and it radiated death—the Death Slayer was born.

Rhodes checked the Death Slayer's stats—the enhancement options were like the Emperor's Avatar and Slaanesh Slayer, but the Death God power had an ultimate enhancement:

For ten million system coins, it could perform a perfect resurrection—once.
