Chapter 240: James Potter Is Mine!

As soon as the homunculus opened her eyes, they went directly to look at James, and her mouth began to move.

Of course, no sound came out because she was still inside the glass tank.

She seemed to realize this very quickly and tapped the surface of the glass with her fingers, and the next instant, the entire tank was reduced to dust.

The liquid spread all over the floor of his laboratory, but the girl's body never touched the ground, as it remained floating in the air.

"Hello," James greeted her.

"Master?" She landed in front of him, not seemingly bothered by her state of undress, as she was wearing nothing at all.

James was pleased to see that she was already able to utilize her abilities.

During her gestating stage, he had been feeding her a large amount of knowledge so they could skip most of the learning process.

Even though Ultima was technically a newborn, her body and mind were fully developed, and much like Nyxaris, Tertivor, and Primum, she was fully capable of using all her skills already.

Her expression changed slightly. "No… not Master."

'James' smiled. "Very good. You will see him later. But now, I have one last thing to give you." He reached into the first drawer of his desk and pulled out a small metallic box.

He then took out a small stone from the box. This one had a dark red color and was constantly emanating an eerie aura.

Nyxaris recognized the stone immediately. After all, she had seen her Master using it before.

"Open your mouth," James instructed the homunculus, and this one obeyed.

"Master, what are you…" Nyxaris gasped when she saw her Master feeding the stone to the newly born homunculus. "What did you do?!. That was the Philosopher's Stone!" she exclaimed.

"Calm down, Nyx," James said as he watched the homunculus swallow the stone. "This was the main reason I even created the stone in the first place. I was glad to avoid wasting it on myself during the fight with the witch."

The changes were not immediately visible, but he was one hundred percent confident in his decision.

"But Master… that was an invaluable magical artifact. You went through so much to create it…" Nyxaris lamented.

"How do you feel?" James asked the homunculus, as this one seemed to be busy examining herself.

"I feel… different. I'm so full of energy," she responded.

James nodded. The Philosopher's Stone was, in essence, a massive accumulation of human vitality, all concentrated into a small container. This was a powerful source of energy that could be wielded in many ways.

But in the case of the homunculus, it would have a very particular effect, since the last ashes of a black phoenix were used during her creation.

James approached the window. Voldemort's army had already gone past the wall and entered the courtyard of the castle. "I'd better go say something."

His eyes went to the fairy. "Nyxaris… our guests have already passed the boundary. Do you know what you have to do next?"

"No one leaves," she answered.

James nodded. "No one leaves." He then grabbed a silver bracelet from the table and tossed it to the girl, who immediately grabbed it. "It's yours now. Tertivor can be your weapon and your shield. Take care of it."

"Yes, Master," Ultima spoke in a monotone manner.

"I will leave the rest in your hands. And don't forget the robes." He then jumped out of the window and landed in the courtyard as the army approached.

"There he is!" one of the Death Eaters shouted the moment he spotted James landing.

For his part, James merely walked toward them at a calm pace. "Welcome to my humble home!" he said with open arms.

Voldemort moved ahead of the group, keeping his eyes locked onto James as he approached. "James Potter! I came here to claim your life!"

"And you brought an army as well. Even giants?" James chuckled. "You must be really scared of me."

"Lord Voldemort is afraid of nothing!" The Dark Lord's voice carried so much power that it made the ground tremble under its pressure.

"So you say… and yet, I can see that you resorted to stealing the ritual from that old witch." James glanced at Voldemort's body. The changes were too evident to ignore. "Won't help."

"My Lord… let us kill this insolent boy," Lord Nott suggested.

"My wolves are hungry!" Fenrir exclaimed. "They will gladly eat him up!"

"Silence!" Voldemort shouted. His red eyes never left James's position. His instincts were yelling at him that something was wrong.

Everything so far had been too easy. This ancient wizard castle had no defenses, and now they came into the yard, and James Potter walked up to him all by himself...not even holding a wand.

But in his eyes, Voldemort saw no fear… not even a slight concern. Only absolute confidence could be found in them.

That made him hesitate.

"What's wrong, Mister Voldemort?" James teased him as he continued to approach.

He was now merely thirty feet or so from the Dark Lord.

"Did you come here to claim my life? Well… here it is...claim it."

"My Lord, something doesn't add up." Lord Carrow, much like Voldemort, had a bad feeling about this.

Voldemort glared at him with his intimidating red eyes before looking back at the rest of the army he had brought.

The giants and werewolves were growing increasingly impatient. They had been promised the chance to go wild and kill as much as they wanted, but now they had arrived at a seemingly empty castle, other than Potter himself.

"James Potter is mine," said Voldemort. He knew that if he couldn't even do this by himself, he would never be satisfied.

This was an obstacle that he needed to overcome with his own power, even if his army didn't like that.

James stopped and waited patiently while observing Voldemort with a hint of amusement. The Dark Lord had come here expecting some epic battle like the one he had with the witch at Hogsmeade.

But unfortunately for him, that was not going to happen, as this was no longer a war… it was merely an execution.
