Chapter 252: The Mysterious Lady

Lady Rose watched Ultima approaching, flying on top of Primum while holding Tertivor in its sword form in her right hand.

"Very impressive. You took care of that arrogant child in a moment."

Ultima ignored her words but became alert when she got close to this person. Her senses were warning her that the being in front of her was not a human but something much more ancient and dangerous.

She pointed at Lady Rose's hands. "Release Nyxaris."

"Mmm?... does it look like I'm holding her prisoner?" Lady Rose glanced down at the fairy and noted that it had begun to change.

Once Ultima was near enough, her connection began to infuse Nyxaris with her power, just as it had done before with Tertivor and Primum.

The exhausted fairy recovered instantly, and her small body started to emit the same golden aura, to the point of even changing the color of her hair.

"This is… oh, I see." Nyxaris, who was completely unable to move until now, stood up and flew away, hovering near Ultima.

"Are you okay?" Ultima asked, even though their mental connection already told her everything she needed to know. It still felt better to say some things out loud.

"I'm better now." Nyxaris responded while her body was still adapting to the changes.

"So you are all connected… and the source of this strange energy is… there." Lady Rose was now staring at Ultima, but mostly at her golden armor.

"Master sent you to assist us?" Ultima asked, having received some bits of information from Nyxaris.

"He hired me to keep an eye on you." Lady Rose was amused to see a hint of annoyance in Ultima's words, since Nyxaris had reacted similarly. "You can tell him that I still intend to charge him, even if I didn't have to do much. I don't leave my shop for free, see?"

Ultima had nothing to say in response, but didn't like the way that Lady Rose was staring at her. She could tell that this individual was analyzing her very own being on a very profound level.

"So you are Mister Potter's last creation. His magnum opus..." Lady Rose commented. "I was very curious to see with my own eyes what that person was going to create with such incredible materials. Didn't expect him to make a homunculus."

"Ultima is much more than that." Nyxaris landed on Ultima's shoulder.

"Indeed, I can see that." Lady Rose nodded. "Every single one of his creations was meant to complement each other."

She pointed at Primum. "A mighty mount." The chimera could serve as much more than just a mount, as its fighting capabilities were superior to any other magical beast.

She pointed at Aura. "A Divine Armor." Aura could not just protect Ultima but also enhance all her abilities and do the same to the others, thanks to their connection.

She pointed at Tertivor. "The most versatile weapon." Tertivor could change shapes and transform into any weapon that Ultima could think about… swords, sabers, spears, shields, bows, etc.

She pointed at Nyxaris. "The best magical support." The fairy had access to a massive archive of spells and could quickly assimilate new ones if necessary. With her incredibly high intelligence and perfect memory, there would be no better advisor and companion for Ultima to have around.

Lady Rose finally pointed at Ultima. "And the perfect warrior to wield all these tools." It became evident to her that James had intended for his creations to complement each other in some way, so they could work together in the future.

"The only thing I would like to know…" Lady Rose continued. "What is your purpose?" She had once asked James what he intended to create and received a vague answer.

"My purpose?" Ultima did know that. "To protect the magical world from those who threaten its balance…" Her eyes moved down to where she had left Voldemort's remains. "And eliminate them."

Lady Rose sighed, not looking very satisfied with that answer. "That is a vague purpose that could be easily twisted… it does fit him, though." She whispered under her breath.

"Oh well. It's time for me to leave," she finally said, after learning everything she could from them.

"The barrier." Nyxaris realized that the Seven Pillars Formation was still in effect, and it would continue to be until she removed it. "I will need a few minutes to take it down."

"That won't be necessary." Lady Rose snapped her fingers, and they could hear loud cracking noises coming from a nearby pillar.

"I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty."

"That's…" Ultima narrowed her eyes and stared at the white marble pillar. "Plants?" She looked confused.

The structure had become surrounded by plants with thick branches growing around its surface. The plants grew quickly, choking the pillar in the process and breaking it apart.

"I don't recognize the species but… that should not be possible." Nyxaris commented while scouring the massive archive of knowledge in her mind for an answer.

This formation should be near impossible to break from the inside, unless it was done by its creator.

In just a minute, the plants managed to make the pillar fall apart. The formation became severely weakened due to having lost its perfect balance.

Lady Rose took this opportunity. "Let's go, B." She instructed the crow to move.

The black bird flapped its wings with incredible force, propelling itself at a high speed and crossing the barrier's boundaries while Lady Rose stood on its back.

The two of them disappeared on the horizon in a matter of seconds.

"What kind of being is Lady Rose?" Ultima asked, showing true curiosity for the first time in her life.

"You know I don't have that answer," Nyxaris responded, feeling very frustrated. After all, knowing things was her primary function. "But I was wondering the same thing… should we ask Master when he returns?"

"Kyu!" Primum was also curious.

"Hmm?!" Ultima reacted when she felt a familiar magical signature nearby. Her eyes moved into the distance. "Master has returned."
