(3rd Point of View)
'2 We better hurry and come up with a plan, guys. Based on my count, there are 44 chains left, and each one breaks every 5 seconds. With simple calculation, we would have 220 seconds remaining. But while I was talking, two chains already broke off, leaving us with only 210 seconds left to discuss how to defeat this game. 2'
With that, the game began.
Human Calvin, looking at the ball of light in his hand, thought about turning it into a sword. As he imagined it, the light shivered and bent, taking the form of a sword.
Surprised, he gripped the sword and swung it around, testing its balance and weight. After a few swings, it seemed to satisfy him. With that, he looked at the others to see their changes.
'3 Hoo, this is quite an unnatural sight. 3'
Said the Guardian of the natural forest, Elf John, who was tall but had a slender frame, held a staff made of light, as tall as himself. Around it, vines and leaves intertwined, forming naturally as he gently caressed the staff with his delicate, white hands.
'4 Hahaha, this hammer—I like it! 4'
Dwarf Norkin, with a big swing, held the hammer with both bulging arms, causing a wave of air to pass by. Then he dropped it low, covering his whole body, making an impression of a sturdy pillar that could withstand ferocious tides.
'6 Hoo, how elegant. 6'
Human Damian haughtily said, admiring the wand made of light as he moved it like a conductor leading an opera leaving afterglow light that traces the wand.
'5 Hmm, this will do. 5'
Dwarf Belkorn said coldly, but with a hint of satisfaction, as he held a spool of wire wrapped around his hand and nodded, showing he was content with his crafted weapon.
'2 Hmm, where are the arrows? I wanted to ask, but it seems I can produce them if I just pull the bowstring... for some reason. 2'
Elf Calvin muttered as he pulled the bowstring, firmly watching as an arrow of light materialized, curious about how it worked.
'X ROOAAR! (Ferocious howl) X'
The beast let out a ferocious, terror-inducing roar. But unlike before, the people around it merely watched cautiously, seemingly unfazed.
At that, they gathered at the front, facing the beast, and began their discussion—until all the chains broke off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Protagonist POV)
Looking at the six of them, I began to wonder what they were doing. After crafting their weapons, they gathered and discussed something among themselves. I chose not to listen and simply waited to see what they would do.
They took up all the time they had. Eventually, all the chains restraining the beast shattered, and it lunged at them. At that moment, Dwarf Norkin, holding his warhammer, took a defensive stance. He met the charge head-on, using the massive head of his warhammer—nearly as large as himself—to intercept the beast.
The beast collided with the hammer, the clash producing a shockwave. Norkin bore the brunt of the impact. His stance faltered slightly, forcing him to take a step back, but he held firm—he had successfully blocked the beast's charge.
Then Elf John, who had been chanting an incantation since earlier, completed his spell. A marble-sized orb of yellow-green light appeared and shot toward the beast's feet. Upon contact, vines erupted from the ground, twisting around the beast's limbs and anchoring it in place. The beast thrashed, and the vines began to tear, but before it could free itself
Following John, Human Damian finished his own long-chanting spell. Thanks to the time bought by Norkin and John, he was able to complete the incantation. At the tip of Damian's wand, a glowing red magic circle formed, with a sphere of flame burning at its center. As the spell was cast, the circle shrank and vanished—launching the fireball straight at the beast.
The ball of fire struck the beast, igniting both its fur and the surrounding vines.
'X !!ROOAAARRR!! X'(Beast howling)
The beast let out a painful roar, writhing as the flames spread. But the fire also consumed the vines, weakening them until they snapped. Now free, the beast lunged again—this time, directly at the human who had set it aflame.
But as it lunged, the beast's movement halted suddenly. Its body jerked and then collapsed to the ground, stopped in mid-charge. Around its neck, a glowing wire had looped tightly—restraining it like a leash.
Following the glowing wire, we saw the two dwarves—Norkin, holding his hammer, and Belkorn, gripping the wire wrapped around Norkin Hammer. Together, they had anchored the beast, halting its attack and forcing it to the ground.
The beast, realizing this, shifted its focus. Now enraged, it lunged at the two dwarves instead—causing the glowing leash to loosen as it turned its wrath toward them.
But as if to deny the beast any chance to lunge at anyone else, Elf Calvin notched arrows onto his glowing bow. Holding four arrows in hand, he took a steady stance—then fired them in rapid succession. Each arrow flew straight toward the beast's limbs, all aimed at its ankles. The impact caused the beast to stagger, losing balance as the arrows struck true.
From the side, sprinting swiftly past Calvin, came Human Mike. He charged toward the beast with a sword of light in hand—though unlike the others, his blade shimmered with a distinct blue glow, a faint aura hovering around it.
'X !!ROOAAARRR!! X'(Beast howling)
Sensing danger, the beast roared again and raised one of its massive limbs to strike. With its longer reach, it tried to slam down on the approaching human. But because of the injuries to its limbs—thanks to Calvin's arrows—the beast flinched. Pain jolted through its leg, halting the strike mid-air and leaving an opening.
Mike didn't waste the opportunity.
He dashed past the stopped limb and, without slowing his momentum, tightened his grip on the sword. As he closed in, he raised the blade and, in one fluid motion, slashed across the beast's throat.
The beast let out one final, weakened roar—then its strength gave out. Its limbs buckled. Its body fell to the ground, motionless.
