The train at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters slowly came to a stop, and soon, a large group of young students in Hogwarts uniforms rushed out of the carriages.
It was graduation season once again, and also the start of the holidays.
After saying goodbye to a few friends, Alec ran toward a young man wearing a full-coverage eye mask. He wasn't the only one—many of the students eagerly ran to the masked figure.
This young man was Cyclops, Scott Summers. Through his eye mask, he smiled at the energetic students around him.
The energy in the air was contagious, and the warmth from those around them was something Scott never would have believed possible in the past. Among them, Alec left a particularly strong impression on him.
A few years ago, Scott had found Alec trembling behind a garbage dump on a street, hiding in fear. The boy had been silent, sensitive, and overwhelmed with anxiety.
But since entering the Mutant Academy, Alec had blossomed. No longer timid, he was now full of energy, enthusiasm, and generosity—everything a child should be.
"Alec, how was your performance this semester?" Scott asked, gently ruffling the boy's hair.
"It's going well. Although the top 20 spots are still dominated by 'that group of people,' our house won the House Cup!" Alec exclaimed with excitement.
Alec was a Gryffindor through and through, and he had been born in an era of great change. For many years, a small organization made up of top students from various houses had dominated the rankings. But with the departure of Evan and a few others, Ravenclaw's reign over the House Cup had ended. This was the second time Gryffindor had claimed the Cup, and the first time Alec had been part of the winning team.
"It feels amazing. I've been working hard at Hogwarts, and it feels good to have contributed to the House Cup."
"Congratulations, Alec! By the way, how's your magic rating?" Scott asked, nodding in approval.
When mutants first entered the wizarding world, their first lesson was the history of magic. Afterward, they studied the history of Hogwarts, and some surprising revelations had come to light. It turned out that a figure who had once taught Charles and Erik a lesson was incredibly famous in Hogwarts.
Noah Finniel, despite only spending three years at Hogwarts, had been admitted to Kamar-Taj University on special merit. His accomplishments were legendary—he had even been immortalized in textbooks. His impact on the magical world was profound, influencing not only magical rankings but also the development of the Kamar-Taj Magic Award.
Scott knew that Alec admired Noah more than anyone else. Noah, coming from an ordinary background, had achieved greatness in the magical and mutant worlds alike.
With the implementation of the wizard rating system, which evaluated not only a wizard's magical prowess but also their knowledge and willpower, many of the systems introduced had been adopted by Kamar-Taj. The feedback from the wizarding world had led to improvements in the rating system, and it was now widely accepted and respected.
"Ninth-level magic apprentice," Alec said, scratching his head. His rating was solid, though not exceptional. Alec wasn't a true wizard, which made his rating a bit lower.
However, his mental power evaluation was outstanding. Alec loved the magical world, and his academic performance was excellent, though he didn't overly focus on grades. He knew he could improve with effort.
"If I get the chance, I'd love to join that mysterious organization," Alec added with determination.
"Very good," Scott said. "Alright, everyone's here. Let's head home."
With the financial backing from Charles, the mutants had purchased a villa in the suburbs of London. It was much smaller than the school in New York, but it had one major advantage: it was hidden from ordinary people. Ordinary people and satellites couldn't even detect the villa's presence, thanks to the magic that cloaked it.
After selling the New York mutant academy, Charles had used the proceeds to fund this new home. It marked the mutants' withdrawal from the ordinary world.
However, some issues remained. Minister Dumbledore had informed them that the Ministry of Magic in various countries was beginning to recognize and recruit mutants, which was complicating matters.
The bus moved quickly along the roads, with the little ones chatting excitedly. They were in no danger of getting caught speeding since the bus was rented from the Ministry of Magic, and magic kept them hidden from prying eyes.
Alec laughed as he listened to a boy with lizard-like features bragging about his school. At Hogwarts, students didn't need to hide their original appearances, as many hadn't fully mutated yet. Some still retained mutant traits, but it wasn't an issue. The little wizards actually thought it looked cool.
Hogwarts Academy had even attempted to use magic to address some of these issues. Professors Snape and Lupin had been researching ways to use magic and mental power to assist in the mutations. Their efforts were bearing fruit, as several students had completely reverted to human form while retaining their abilities.
Not long later, the bus arrived at the villa, and the children hopped out, eager to enter. But as they approached, they sensed something was off. The villa seemed unusually quiet.
"What's going on? It was always lively when we left last year," one of them murmured.
"Did Professor Charles forget when we were coming back?" another wondered aloud.
Scott noticed the quietness as well, and his instincts kicked in. Having been a child experimented on in the past, he became immediately alert.
As he considered leaving the villa quickly, Professor Charles' voice suddenly echoed in his mind, soothing his nerves. He relaxed and turned to the kids.
"Everything's fine. Professor Charles is just receiving a guest."
"A guest? Is it the Minister of Magic?" one of the children asked, relieved.
"No, it's someone else," Scott replied with a smile. "You're all familiar with this person."
"Who is it? Who's important enough for Professor Charles to receive them?" Alec asked, showing the bold spirit of a Gryffindor.
"Noah. Mr. Noah Finniel." Scott laughed softly, shaking his head. "He's here with Professor Charles right now."
The revelation shocked the children. This was the legendary figure from their textbooks—the hero of Hogwarts!
They immediately bolted toward Professor Charles' office, eager to meet the man who had become a legend. Scott followed behind, amused by their excitement.
In Professor Charles' office, Noah Finniel sat across from a bald man, thinking to himself, This guy truly is one of the strongest mutants. Without any magic training, he's reached Level Four!
His mental power was staggering, nearly off the charts.
Noah sighed internally. What an extraordinary person. Can someone like him truly transcend their body and reach a higher state of existence?
"What a monster," Noah muttered under his breath.
