"What's up, Fury?" Noah answered the call directly; it was from Fury.
"Damn it, Noah, please tell me, this world doesn't really have the Force, does it?" Fury's voice sounded anxious and somewhat uncomfortable. Hearing this, Noah immediately rolled his eyes and retorted, "How would I know? You should ask George Lucas, not me! And even if it does, the universe is vast and full of wonders; there's nothing surprising about it, alright?"
Noah basically guessed why that bastard Fury was calling him. It was probably because he saw Victor, wearing the armor, emulate Darth Vader and blow up three helicopters, which made Fury panic. Considering how aliens inexplicably appeared on Earth first, then mages, and now even legendary gods, it wouldn't be strange for something like Jedi Knights to appear. The problem is, Jedi Knights are the good guys! How could Fury not panic when a guy similar to Darth Vader suddenly popped up? Now Fury genuinely felt that mutants were as adorable as sheep, while these mages, aliens, and gods, led by Noah, were a pack of hungry wolves!
"Alright, I just want to clarify the situation," Fury said somewhat helplessly. "You know, even if I don't want to get involved in many things, there has to be a proper explanation, right?"
"Fine, it's Tony's creation," Noah thought for a moment and replied directly. "Whether you saw Jedi Knights or Sith Lords, it's all Tony's doing. By the way, they might be looking for you."
That was the truth, and Noah saw no harm in revealing it. With Noah's heads-up, Tony would certainly not let such a good resource go to waste. In that case, Tony would inevitably have a discussion with Fury, and then wouldn't Fury know everything?
"Tony's doing?" Fury sounded relieved. "Alright, if that's the case. But who dared to attack Tony?"
"I don't know that," Noah lied. "By the way, you're not calling me just for this, are you?"
"Of course not. To be precise, I called you because of the things you arranged. That so-called Sith Lord was just a bonus," Fury quickly replied. "Cross successfully infiltrated Abstergo Industries, and he also found some interesting things."
"Oh? Such as?" Noah's interest was piqued this time. He hadn't forgotten the things left behind by the Isu. If he wasn't worried about being beaten up by the individual hidden in Atlantis somewhere under the European sea, Noah would have genuinely wanted to go and find him or her. Noah wouldn't rush in without absolute certainty; stable development was the best option.
Speaking of which, Cross Gibbs and his son, Wesley Gibbs, were both natural assassins. They were now officially listed with S.H.I.E.L.D., becoming two of Fury's most trusted agents.
However, one was on a mission and the other in training, so Noah didn't see either of them in the Manhattan battle. Of course, Cross wasn't very satisfied with this outcome, but there was nothing he could do. His son seemed to have found motivation to prove his worth and was very enthusiastic about the work. Therefore, Cross couldn't say anything, only hoping S.H.I.E.L.D. wouldn't give his son too difficult a task.
As for another agent, Jason, whom Noah had forcibly recruited years ago, he had now infiltrated that assassin organization. According to his intelligence, the suit-wearing thug and dog lover, John Wick, had fallen in love and retired for a while.
As Noah recalled the movements of these individuals, Fury's voice spoke again: "According to Cross's investigation, Abstergo Industries is indeed not to be trifled with. Due to Cross's excellent performance in the 'new fluoride' incident, he now has access to some undisclosed content, and this content is somewhat terrifying."
"Uh-huh, I can guess," Noah nodded. How could Noah not know these contents? Abstergo, though a pharmaceutical company, and its predecessors, had secretly achieved most of humanity's developmental progress over a millennium. While undeniably contributing to human development, the primary directive given to Abstergo by the Templar Order was 'to destroy the Assassin Brotherhood, acquire Precursor technology, and establish a new world order.' It's not hard to imagine how vast this organization's network is; perhaps if their membership list were revealed, the entire ordinary world would face unimaginable turmoil.
Unfortunately, Noah had no interest in any of this. He didn't care about these things at all. "To put it plainly, this is just a game for one person. The world needs freedom, so there's the 'Assassin Brotherhood' representing chaos, and when the world needs order, there are these Templars. Their struggle, to put it simply, is just about maintaining stability." Noah, of course, understood these things. He even speculated that the individual hiding in Atlantis would probably personally intervene. Whoever gained the upper hand wouldn't be good for him. Noah remembered that the last time this individual appeared, he was in a suit and tie.
"Alright, let's not talk about those terrifying things."
Fury seemed to have some reservations about Cross's findings; he directly skipped that part. "Cross discovered that they seem to have developed some terrifying things and captured some people for experiments."
"Then what?" Noah inquired.
"Now, there's a guy who caused serious problems; even two high-ranking Abstergo executives were killed by him, and he has what you want in his hand. Cross has been secretly tracking him, and now he has confirmed where this group of people ran to."
"Oh? Can you confirm their location?"
"Yes, Cross has been trailing them, and it's basically confirmed now. However, according to Cross's report, the person he was tracking seemed to have become an unbelievably powerful individual overnight, and Cross himself almost got exposed."
"Is that so? Well, that's interesting." Hearing this, Noah immediately showed a slight smile. The person Cross was trailing was definitely Desmond's assassin team, and the person who became unbelievably powerful overnight was definitely Desmond! This Desmond, remember, had read the memories of Altar, Ezio, and the filial son and father Haytham and Connor, and he had basically inherited some of their abilities! This kind of cheat-like method was indeed enviable, but considering this guy almost suffered a mental breakdown and died, Noah didn't think he was that lucky.
Stroking his chin, Noah thought it would be better for him to go and see for himself. If Noah wasn't mistaken, Desmond did get the Apple of Eden and used its control abilities to kill two Abstergo executives, which is why Cross was tracking him.
"I understand. I'll go take a look." With that thought, Noah made a decision: to go directly to that Isu Grand Temple and witness the so-called god! Noah was so bold because he remembered that Juno was currently imprisoned, and this imprisonment had lasted for an unimaginably long time. Noah could assess the so-called god's strength once he arrived. If she wasn't strong or was currently weak, Noah could completely deal with her! But if she was very strong, Noah would immediately call for backup. Playing with one's life is idiotic; without the god-tier skill of reloading a save, one's life is paramount.
Crucially, because of the past antics of these Isu, 2012 truly was a world-ending event. Noah hadn't experienced a solar storm, and he had no intention of doing so! After all, Noah didn't think he would be like the Fantastic Four in the movies, unaffected by a cosmic storm and even gaining terrible powers.
"Actually, even if Desmond doesn't open that 'Eye,' perhaps King Odin and my teacher would do something, right?" Noah thought uncertainly, then casually opened a portal.
Loki looked at Noah strangely, not quite understanding what Noah was planning. But Noah soon gave him an answer that surprised even him. "Interested in meeting an imprisoned Isu, whose name seems to be Juno?"
"Juno? The god of your Earth's first civilization, the Isu?"
"Yes, you know her?"
"I've heard of her, an ambitious individual. Oh, I remember now, your Earth seems to be facing a solar storm, but the Isu were prepared for it long ago. My father once mentioned this, and it seems my father also made some preparations."
Loki tilted his head in thought, then once again displayed the unique Asgardian arrogance, that 'you ordinary mortals should be grateful for what we've done' demeanor, which almost made Noah unable to resist punching him. Taking a deep breath, Noah felt relieved and didn't act too hostile. He calmly said, "We're discussing whether you want to go with me to see, not for you to show off what your Asgardians have done.
And that was done by your father, not you!"
"Go." Loki keenly sensed Noah's unease and immediately answered honestly, "Of course I'll go see. I'm also very curious about what your Earth's first civilization was like, even if it's not as good as ours."
"Then stop talking nonsense, let's go," Noah said, looking at Loki flatly.
"Okay, honestly, your current development is really poor.
Think about how brilliant your first civilization was, but now Earth..." Loki nodded, then couldn't resist talking again, but he was interrupted by Noah once more.
"Loki."
"Hmm?"
"Shut up."
"..."
