A quiet Loki is a good Loki. It's not hard to understand why, in the original story, after he was captured by Tony and the others, they specifically gagged him. Simply put, this guy just talks too much; anyone would find him unbearable. Even his dearest brother, Thor, ultimately ignored him, not even removing the gag when activating the Bifrost, did he? While Noah didn't object to others chattering, if he got annoyed, he wouldn't show any mercy. Loki also understood Noah's personality; though he felt incredibly stifled, a feeling that had persisted since his arrival on Earth, he truly didn't dare to defy Noah.
Stepping through the portal, Noah and Loki instantly arrived at a very mysterious place. Honestly, even Noah himself couldn't precisely recall the location of the temples set up by the three Isu gods. If Noah hadn't left a mark on Cross, he wouldn't have been able to find this place directly.
"Good afternoon, sirs," Cross bowed respectfully to Noah and Loki. He was no longer surprised by their mode of appearance. He had not only witnessed it but also thoroughly understood it during his time with S.H.I.E.L.D. He had even watched the entire Battle of New York from his computer, so he no longer held much resentment towards the mage who had once threatened him like a demon. Although his life was still full of danger, his son seemed to enjoy this work, and most importantly, they had reconciled. While he still disliked S.H.I.E.L.D.
Recruiting his son, S.H.I.E.L.D. had fabricated a story for him, and his son deeply respected him and seemed to enjoy his current life, so Carlos had nothing more to say.
Through his investigation at Abstergo, he now understood why that mage had threatened him in such a way. The scope of this organization and the individuals involved were truly unimaginable, making its terror clear.
"Are they all inside?" Noah nodded briefly at Cross and asked directly.
"Yes, they're all inside," Cross looked back at the cave behind him and said. "But I think the Templars won't take
long to find this place."
"Not surprising. If they can't even do that, they shouldn't be playing," Noah nodded. He remembered a video in Abstergo's archives from the game, showing Desmond's corpse. So, this wasn't surprising; it would be strange if they couldn't find him. Shaking his head, Noah led Loki directly inside, but he didn't forget to instruct Cross,
"Don't worry about us. You need to be careful too, understand?"
"I'm not worried about that. I just want to clarify something," Cross said with a wry smile. "How much longer do I have to stay in this organization?"
"How much longer?" This question made Noah pause. He suddenly realized that Cross's mission might be over. But honestly, Noah didn't want to let such a valuable asset just finish his mission. Stroking his chin, Noah suddenly thought of someone truly worth investigating, so he smiled slightly and said, "Not much longer. You need to find someone before you're exposed, and then you can end this mission."
"Who?" Cross's eyes lit up.
"A woman named Layla Hassan. If my prediction is correct, she's an immigrant and an Abstergo employee," Noah said, recalling what he still remembered. Frankly, Noah most hated the modern-day storyline when playing the game, so he didn't have a good impression of the woman who would later acquire the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus. It was already good that he remembered her full name, and that she was an immigrant and an Abstergo employee. Cross didn't ask much; the information Noah provided was enough for him.
Watching Cross turn and walk away silently, yet filled with hope and anticipation, Noah nodded in satisfaction, then continued onward with Loki. The temple appeared to be a damaged cave, but as Noah and Loki entered, they both instinctively felt a unique pressure.
After exchanging glances, they simultaneously began to surge their magic. Both Noah and Loki could feel the special aura permeating the cave, and from the fluctuations of this aura, it seemed its owner had awakened. Faced with this situation, Noah and Loki maintained a relatively cautious attitude.
"Honestly, do you know this woman?" Loki asked quietly as they walked towards the area with the greatest pressure.
"Aren't you very familiar with Isu culture? As for this woman, I know a little," Noah replied equally quietly. He did know some things about this woman. This woman was mentioned in many Assassin's Creed games, and the individual currently hiding under the sea in Europe had even met her. In the distant First Civilization era, Poseidon even fought alongside this woman and her husband, after which Atlantis sank.
Speaking of which, this woman's husband was also very interesting; his name was Aita, renowned as the most intelligent Isu, but he, like Juno, was an Isu beyond the Isu. And this guy seemed to be the ancestor of those so-called Sages, who, through his genes, continuously reproduced and transmitted, forming a cycle of reincarnation for eternal life.
"Feels a bit like Indra and Asura," Noah muttered softly.
"Hmm?" Loki looked at him strangely. "What are you talking about?"
"Nothing," Noah shook his head. "In short, this woman is not a good person."
"She's indeed not good. She's an Isu Scientist of the Light-Bringers, an Isu supremacist, a very rude individual."
"Oh? You know her? Frankly, you probably weren't even born when she was active, were you?"
"I've seen their leftover images and data. A bunch of self-righteous individuals who couldn't even deal with humans, though humans back then were very powerful."
Nonsense, humans of that era reached terrifying levels step by step through their own physical strength.
Leaving aside others, look at Alexios and Kassandra; though they lived long after the ancient First Civilization era, didn't they also reach demigod status through their own bodies? Noah was just a bit confused, was this so-called demigod status the ninth tier? The tenth tier didn't seem to be the god level either?
Unable to figure out these questions, Noah stopped pondering. He and Loki chatted idly along the way, both remaining highly vigilant. In a short while, they reached the center of the cave. It was a much wider area, where four people stood together. Beside them, two ethereal figures argued, but they stopped abruptly as Noah and Loki entered. The four ordinary people also reacted similarly, immediately adopting defensive stances upon seeing Noah and Loki, though Noah paid them no mind.
Noah's attention immediately shifted to the 'Eye' not far away, glowing with strange light and power. Noah knew this was the key to Juno's imprisonment and also crucial for protecting Earth from the solar storm. However, Juno was clever; she posed an impossible dilemma either let Earth be ravaged by the solar storm and everyone dies, or open the Eye to activate the energy shield, protecting Earth from the storm while also allowing her to escape.
"Who are you?" Just as Noah was thinking, Desmond suddenly held a golden apple, glowing with light, and loudly asked Noah and Loki.
"Put away your little toy before I get angry," Loki said softly, glancing at Noah and seeing that Noah didn't seem to take the threat seriously. He then smiled and continued, "You know, this thing originally belonged to us Asgardians."
"This thing is yours too?" Noah spoke now. He hadn't expected this golden apple to be fake as well.
"Of course, Earth only has one golden apple created by an Isu," Loki said with a smile, tossing the golden apple into Noah's hand. "Though I don't know where it is, this is
indeed an Asgardian product."
"Is that so?" Noah looked at the golden apple in his hand, then could only helplessly nod. These Asgardians were truly ruthless in their acquisitions. If this one was fake, then where was the real one? Could it be in that individual's hands?
