Noah didn't mind Loki wanting to go with them at all.
Anyway, headaches like that were Thor and Odin's responsibility. Simply put, it had nothing to do with him. He just needed to sit back and watch the brothers work it out themselves.
Of course, Noah wouldn't be that bored.
He felt it was better to return to Earth for now.
There was also something else on his mind. Should he retrieve the Mind Stone?
Loki wanted to go with them, and Noah thought the chances were high. No matter how he looked at it, it would be a very good training opportunity. But there was a prerequisite.
Loki's strength had to be qualified.
As for what counted as qualified, Noah believed it meant fully mastering ice magic and the Reality Stone of Asgard.
Strictly speaking, this wasn't simple at all. But one thing had to be admitted-Loki's talent was genuinely good. Who knew? By the time Noah and the others were ready to leave, Loki might already meet the standard.
That could be considered later.
There was still time.
But if Loki really did master the Reality Stone, Noah felt his own side needed to speed up as well.
Back then, to avoid trouble, he had left the Mind Stone with Hydra. Now, though, it was clearly time to retrieve it. Everything had already been exposed. Everyone knew how many Infinity Stones were on Earth.
Leaving it with Hydra was no longer a good idea.
To be honest, if it weren't for that Infinity Stone propping it up, Hydra's SHIELD branch probably wouldn't have survived Fury's full purge. Right now, Hydra was still using the Stone for experiments and research, though Noah didn't know the details.
But he knew exactly where it was.
The power he had left behind was still unmistakably clear.
"But who should I give this thing to?" Noah muttered.
After returning to the Sanctum through a portal, he couldn't help but think about it.
He had considered this question many times before, yet every time the answer changed. As his strength grew and his perspective shifted, he realized that many of his past decisions were, in hindsight, highly debatable.
Finished matters weren't worth revisiting.
Unfinished ones were.
The Mind Stone gave him a headache. He genuinely didn't know who would be most suitable to hold it.
In the past, when his strength was insufficient, he naturally wanted to give such things to the most compatible people. Wanda, the Scarlet Witch, was an obvious example. She was drawn to the Mind Stone, and even in the movies, her abilities matched it perfectly.
But now, Noah hesitated.
Wanda was indeed compatible. But the problem was simple-he didn't even know her. In some sense, they were still hostile. Even if she really was Erik's daughter, so what?
They didn't know each other.
That was the key point.
"I feel like I'm shifting from pure rationality to something more emotional," Noah said quietly, rubbing his chin.
His thinking had changed as his strength increased. Still, he didn't think that was a bad thing. He didn't want to become an emotionless machine, and he felt capable of handling more trouble now.
Even so, his usual caution remained.
The world was vast. Powerful people were everywhere.
He just no longer made decisions based on "who was most suitable." If he didn't know someone or wasn't familiar with them, he simply wouldn't consider them.
"Besides, there are plenty of people who could use it. Why fixate on her?"
Noah shook his head slightly.
Another figure came to mind.
Someone truly suited to the Mind Stone.
Charles.
The former mutant heavyweight, now living in seclusion within the British magical world. Charles was psychic as well, and compared to Wanda, Noah was far more familiar with him.
Charles was deeply grateful to Noah. Without Noah's appearance and help, the mutants would never have gained a true home. And Charles's own power was terrifying.
Noah hadn't seen him in a long time, but he remembered clearly-when Noah was still struggling at Tier 7, Charles had already reached Tier 8.
"It really has been a while," Noah thought.
They'd all been busy. Filming movies, promotions, schedules. The X-Men series was nearing its end, and the profits it generated were enormous-for Noah and for Ark as a whole.
The tragic mutant stories also resonated with many mages. In the current context, the films even ended up indirectly praising the Ministry of Magic. As a result, mages held a surprisingly good impression of a story that "didn't involve mages at all."
"And there's another one," Noah added inwardly. "Jean Grey. The Phoenix."
He wondered how things were going between her and Scott now.
Or whether Logan had already stolen her away.
Amused, Noah glanced around and casually opened another portal.
He slipped away.
His return caused no disturbance. Most likely, no one even noticed he had come back. Since that was the case, it was better not to be discovered at all. Otherwise, when he wanted to leave again, it might not be so easy.
As the strongest "truant king," Noah was thoroughly annoyed by trivial affairs.
Sometimes, he felt genuinely grateful that he had left Dennis-the original London Sanctum guardian-behind, and brought Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme's best assistant, to his side.
Otherwise, he would have been exhausted by now.
