Chapter 514 - Chapter 514: Smart Enough

What did Wanda and Pietro face?

They faced the former leader of the mutants.

And Magneto Erik-who had already learned magic.

To be honest, the two youngsters were still too green.

They were no match for Erik at all.

Even though Wanda possessed abilities somewhat similar to Charles's, it didn't matter.

Erik had always treated Charles as his rival.

Even after entering the magical world, that never changed.

That was exactly why he had pushed his Mind-Shielding Charm to such an absurd level.

The reason was obvious.

As for Pietro, his speed was indeed terrifying.

But so what?

Charles was there.

And even without Charles, Erik alone could handle Pietro easily.

All he needed to do was make proper use of the metal in this castle.

Once that happened, Pietro would be like a bird trapped in a cage.

Things unfolded exactly as Noah expected.

These two naive youngsters never stood a chance.

While Noah was still sitting on the steps outside the castle bickering with Tony, Erik had already brought the siblings out.

Noah didn't care how Erik handled his family matters.

He also didn't care about the final outcome.

Noah had no children.

And no plans to have any.

This kind of issue was completely foreign to him.

"Rather than wasting time on this, I'd rather think about magical problems," Noah muttered as he opened a door for them.

"Ha, maybe scientific problems."

Tony laughed.

"Oh, right. That assistant you sent me is really great."

"You mean Nebula?"

Noah thought for a moment and understood.

"That's good then. Use her well. Her joining you is basically recycling waste. Also, she has her own motives."

"Ha, who cares?"

Tony smiled.

"It's all the same to me."

"You guys go ahead. I still need to wait for my Avengers."

Tony had come with the Avengers. Noah knew that.

So Noah had no intention of taking Tony with him.

He was only curious whether Tony would come up with something like an Earth shield again.

Shaking his head, Noah stopped thinking about it.

He was busy.

After returning to London, Noah parted ways with Charles and Erik.

Erik was busy disciplining his children.

Noah was busy refining his domain and improving his strength.

2016 was a crucial year.

According to the original timeline, the Civil War would happen at the beginning of the year. Then Strange would lose the use of his hands. After that, Black Panther would inherit the Wakandan throne.

And somewhere in between, a certain talkative little spider would start hopping around New York.

Four major superhero stories in one year.

An eruption.

But the only thing Noah truly cared about was Strange losing his hands.

That marked Kaecilius's betrayal.

Noah wouldn't miss that.

Captain America, Black Panther, Spider-Man-those were all matters of the ordinary human world.

But once Strange sought healing, he would inevitably enter the magical world.

And that concerned Noah directly.

"I wonder if the Civil War will even happen."

"And there were some interesting things in the second half of the year... but who was it again?"

Noah returned to his room and pondered quietly.

After a long time, he still couldn't recall it.

He didn't bother trying harder.

Those heroes' stories were basically like a max-level boss entering a novice village to him.

They weren't worth worrying about.

Thor's storyline, however, was different.

No one in that family was normal.

His father. His sister.

Even his brother.

None of them were simple.

That was far more worth Noah's attention than these young heroes still leveling up on Earth.

"Leveling too fast can get boring."

Noah sighed, then shook his head.

"But leveling too slowly is worse."

"If I don't move fast enough, I might end up as cannon fodder. Or dust."

Fast growth could be dull at times.

Slow growth could be fatal.

Between the two, Noah preferred power.

Besides, even with his speed, he didn't think he could really compare to some of these people.

Strange was the clearest example.

In just one year, he became terrifyingly strong.

Even if there was some cheating involved, that was still real power.

Shaking his head, Noah entered the system space again to familiarize himself with his domain.

The deeper the understanding, the stronger the domain.

That was why the Ancient One immersed herself in it constantly.

Even if her progress couldn't compare to Noah's.

Noah often shared some of his experiences with her.

Helping her deepen her perception.

Of course, he never shared everything.

That wasn't stinginess.

It was necessary.

Everyone's domain was different.

Different structures. Different effects.

Different usage.

Sharing feelings was enough.

Anything more, the Ancient One probably wouldn't want anyway.

Sorcerers were proud.

They had to walk their own path.

Unknowingly, half a year passed.

During that time, the Ancient One's progress was remarkable.

With Noah's guidance and the system's assistance, her fusion of the four elements plus time and space became increasingly refined.

There was still a long way to go.

But once her integration reached fifty percent, she would be capable of handling divine transformation.

This was something she could feel herself.

And something the system confirmed.

"Your fusion progress is about forty-five percent," the system reported one day.

"Your teacher's is about forty-three percent."

"However," it added, "the later stages are far more difficult than expected. Too many factors are involved. You need to be prepared."

"I've been prepared for a long time."

Noah spread his hands.

That was the truth.

He already knew how difficult domain modification was from personal experience.

Normally, even forming a domain was extremely hard.

Even reaching the ninth tier didn't guarantee success.

And Noah hadn't expected his fusion to progress this quickly.

He was still missing light as a crucial anchor.

He wouldn't let his domain pass fifty percent yet.

Once it crossed that threshold, the structure might solidify.

And that would likely force divine transformation.

Once that happened, the domain would be fixed.

That wasn't what Noah wanted.

In that sense, he was stubborn.

"Still, I can't be too stubborn."

"If it really doesn't work, I won't wait."

"At worst, it'll just be a pity for my dragon avatar."

Leaving Kamar-Taj, Noah returned to his Sanctuary.

This was likely his last discussion about domains with the Ancient One this year.

Next year would be the real turning point.

As he arrived, he saw Lily standing near the portal.

That surprised him.

She was clearly waiting for him.

"Lily?"

Noah walked over.

"What's wrong?"

"That guy who controls magnetism came."

She pouted.

"And he brought a woman."

"Oh?"

Noah tilted his head and casually ruffled her hair.

"Brought a woman? Who?"

"I don't know. Seems like his daughter."

Lily didn't dodge. Her hair became a mess.

"She wants you to be her teacher. It's annoying."

Noah almost laughed.

He didn't take it too seriously.

Lily's magic level was already extremely high.

Even Professor Snape wasn't her match.

She could have graduated long ago.

She simply chose to stay.

Shaking his head, Noah asked her to prepare afternoon tea.

Then he headed for the reception hall.

Who knew what trouble Erik had dragged in this time.

Teaching Wanda?

Noah rubbed his chin.

Honestly, he wasn't interested.

If it were Strange, that would be different.

Wanda had a good foundation.

Strange's was poor.

But in magic, foundation wasn't everything.

What mattered most was intelligence.

And Noah didn't think Wanda was that smart.

But Strange?

He was definitely smart enough.
