Chapter 535 - Chapter 535: Let's Watch It Properly

"Damn it! My hair!"

That night, when Fat Thor woke from his coma and saw his reflection, his howl shook the entire Avengers Compound.

In the mirror, the hair and beard he had painstakingly grown were now nothing but a black, charred mess.

The sight enraged him so much that he nearly grabbed Stormbreaker and charged off to fight Noah to the death.

If not for the Avengers restraining him-and the last shred of his sanity-he would have already gone looking for revenge.

Of course, he probably already knew how that would end.

He would lose again.

In Fat Thor's eyes, Noah was nothing but a cunning sorcerer.

That description left the Avengers confused, while the Kamar-Taj sorcerers glared at Thor in unison.

They couldn't understand why this man would describe the Sorcerer Supreme of another universe like that.

"That guy doesn't fight like a man at all!" Fat Thor ranted furiously. "Have you ever seen someone hide inside a turtle shell all day, throwing magic outward? And when you finally break through it, he just runs into another dimension! How are you supposed to fight that?"

"Uh..." Tony rubbed his nose awkwardly. "Isn't that how sorcerers fight?"

"Shouldn't a real fight be weapons clashing, fist against fist?"

"...."

Tony had no response.

Neither did anyone else.

Emotionally speaking, Thor wasn't wrong.

Rationally speaking, Noah's approach was unquestionably correct.

In the end, the Avengers could only console Fat Thor one by one before leaving him alone to rest-and to deal with his ruined hair and beard.

There was no helping it.

Thor really needed a break.

As for Wong and the Kamar-Taj sorcerers, they simply stayed where they were.

They knew the Avengers' plan and intended to wait for their Sorcerer Supreme-Strange-to return.

At the same time, they were considering something else.

Could certain concepts from Noah's universe be applied to their own?

That place had given them tremendous inspiration.

In their eyes, it truly was a holy land of magic.

Noah had no idea what they were thinking.

He was focused on something entirely different.

For example, he was starting to understand why his master had told him-before sending him here-that he might actually be able to defeat Thanos.

"The people in this universe..." Noah said quietly, glancing at Thor and Loki beside him, "they don't seem very good at defense."

"This Thor is extremely strong. If I didn't rely on spatial abilities, I probably couldn't beat him-unless I used my domain."

"Is he really that strong?" Thor tilted his head. "Then how did you beat him so badly?"

"Because he doesn't defend," Noah replied honestly. "From start to finish, I was protected. He reminded me of you when we first met years ago."

"In other words," Loki cut in smoothly, "a mindless brute."

It had to be said.

That description fit.

This universe's Thor really did seem careless.

His combat instincts weren't bad, but for some reason, he barely set up any defenses at all.

Another thing Noah noticed was that his magic seemed stronger here.

The Thor he fought had a tenth-tier foundation.

Even reduced to ninth-tier, he shouldn't have been easy to injure.

This wasn't like Ego, whose weakness Noah had known from the start.

Thor didn't seem to have one.

He was durable, resilient, overflowing with divine power.

Noah had been forced to fight him head-on.

In fact, his ninth-tier magic shield had shattered several times.

If he hadn't repaired it quickly, he might have been in real danger.

"These are just guesses," Noah said finally, shaking his head. "Everything depends on Thanos showing up."

"But remember those two points."

Thor and Loki both nodded.

Whether right or wrong, at least it was a direction.

"By the way," Loki asked suddenly, "you can see the future of this world, can't you?"

"Yes," Noah nodded. "With the Time Stone. But only the timeline where we didn't come here."

In truth, Noah barely needed the Time Stone.

He remembered Avengers: Endgame very clearly.

Back then, the movie had moved him deeply.

Natasha's sacrifice.

Tony meeting Howard.

And that final line-

"So... I am Iron Man."

All of it had once left his eyes red.

"Then tell me," Thor asked, "if the three of us hadn't come, and Banner hadn't gone to the wrong universe, what would have happened?"

"That's simple."

Noah paused, then suddenly felt mischievous.

Raising his hand, he revealed the Star of Space-Time, now shaped like a ring.

His magic stirred.

A green glow appeared in the Avengers Compound, and a green gem flew straight into Noah's hand.

Unfortunately, it also attracted attention.

Not just the Time Stone arrived-the Avengers did too.

"Mr. Finnell?" Steve asked cautiously. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing special," Noah said casually. "My friends are just curious. You can watch too."

Green light flickered briefly in his palm.

Then it vanished.

Replaced by a pale golden glow.

Before anyone could react, a projection unfolded before their eyes.

The room fell silent.

Familiar faces.

Familiar scenes.

Combined with what Tony already knew about Strange, everyone realized that this sorcerer from another universe was about to show them something.

Something interesting.

The "film" began.

It started with the Avengers' test run.

Clint Barton successfully reached the designated location, returned to his home before his family turned to dust, and brought back an item.

The plan worked.

Next came the discussion of time points and team assignments.

Everything felt familiar.

It was their own experience.

But soon, they noticed differences.

After the plan was finalized, the teams departed.

Iron Man, Captain America, Ant-Man, and Hulk went to the Battle of New York.

This time, Banner didn't go to the wrong universe.

Their goal was three Stones.

Hulk went directly to the New York Sanctum to find Stephen Strange.

Unfortunately, Strange hadn't become a sorcerer yet.

Tony and Steve, using their identities, tried to "borrow" the Stones held by S.H.I.E.L.D.

The plan started smoothly.

But no plan survived reality.

Problems piled up.

In the end, they failed to collect all three Stones.

Banner persuaded the Ancient One and borrowed the Time Stone.

Steve escaped another version of himself and secured the Mind Stone.

"So you guys messed up too?" Fat Thor muttered.

"Yes," Tony said dryly, rubbing his still-swollen eyes before glaring at Banner. "If you hadn't smashed my head, maybe things wouldn't have gone wrong."

"Quiet," Steve cut in. "Have some respect. We're watching a movie."

"This isn't a theater," Tony grumbled-but stayed silent.

He was curious.

He wanted to see if this projection matched reality.

Soon, that doubt vanished.

Loki took the Space Stone.

That mission failed.

To compensate, Tony proposed another time point.

He and Steve went further back to steal the Tesseract.

Seeing Captain America stare at Peggy through the glass.

Seeing Tony hug Howard.

Both men instinctively looked at Noah.

There was no longer any doubt.

That mission succeeded.

They found Pym Particles, secured the Tesseract, and returned.

One story ended.

Another began.

Rocket Raccoon and Thor went to Asgard.

Their mission was smoother.

They extracted the Aether.

Thor even took Mjolnir with him.

At that scene, the two Thors exchanged looks.

One full of disdain.

The other filled with pure, undisguised envy.
