Chapter 153 - The First Jaffa Cake..................Package!

Dropping a whole 10 kg of dry flour into the large mixing bowl, Thistle wanted the dust to clear before adding the other ingredients.

Down went baking soda, butter, oil, sugar, spices, and everything nice, before fresh, delicious, creamy, full-fat milk was let loose across the entire bowl, cramming it full.

Looking at the goopy composite, Thistle whistled at the sight: clumps of unmixed flour floated across, their dark colour giving an unappetizing feeling...

But that did not last long

With a swift flick, the Sheeple signalled the Wulfins at the top. Seeing that the flag was raised green, the leading Wulfin instructed the other 3 Wulfins to begin turning the giant wooden cog, powering the giant whisk that was attached to the mixer.

Churning, the wet and dry ingredients were slowly combined until a thick, goopy, cream-like texture emerged from the final fusion. Dipping a wooden spoon into the mixture, Thistle checked to ensure that everything had mixed properly.

Once he discovered no inconsistencies, he gave a nod, before a Catnis, using her inherent property of balance, began carefully pouring in the batter into another container, before dragging it to the next station:

The furnace

Pushing the large cart, Tyberios wheels the hot cakes into a large cooling room, where the wind Spirits, Sylphs, cool them to room temperature. After staying for half an hour, they get pushed into long tracks, where the real magic began.

With each click, the gearboxes moved the cloth belt, propelling each cake forward one step at a time. With each rotation, 3 g of jam dolloped itself onto the cakes, filling all the way until the very edges. And with 5 different flavours, there were five different injectors.

Once they were done, they were then floated through the great Cikolet waterfall, where the jam-covered cakes were finally sealed.

Now complete, their decadent selves made their final journey to their most feared foe:

The inspection team

There, each and every completed cake passed through several sharp-eyed employees, who made sure that there were no defective bunches in their midst.

Those who successfully passed this final hurdle, were then packaged into beautiful cotton packs of 6, with the label–

Moonquest Jaffa Cakes – one bite, and they'll take you to the Moon...

"It's...it's beautiful..."

Holding the complete product, Lewis could not help but be amazed at the sight of their first-ever Jaffa Cake parcel. They had slaved day and night, manoeuvring through several adversities, all for the sake of earning enough money to fund their Space Program.

And they did it

Unable to hold it in, Simon began crying at the beautiful sight. "Finally...finally...finally we'll have enough money to buy ourselves the steel needed to build my rocket"

"And my fuel!"

"And my hardware!"

"And my bricks..."

"Don't forget my materials!"

Their tones more grew more and rapturous, until people outside began worrying for them. Just as they were about to start dancing in joy, a slightly deep voice brought them back from their stupor.

"Hmm..."
