In another world, Lt. Surge, who was one of the three executives of Team Rocket, was having this conversation with Koga. Unlike Ash, who was the guardian of Leaf Town, Surge was deeply unsettled by Sebastian's combat abilities.
"What's wrong, Koga? You seem a bit strange."
Noticing Koga's unusual silence, Surge felt confused, similar to the feeling he sometimes had around Giovanni. After a moment of quiet consideration, Koga finally spoke, "It's quite incredible. Never mind that... Surge, you can trust Sebastian; you can rest assured about that."
"Hmm? Hey! You two aren't being brainwashed, are you?"
Surge was taken aback by Koga's comment. After all, Giovanni, Sabrina, and Koga's behavior was too peculiar. Just as he was about to say something, a flood of memories suddenly washed over him.
"If I were fighting, I'd be hitting harder. Shouldn't a Gym Leader stay with them?"
"Thanks for the hard work, bro. You sure are tired."
As memories poured into Surge's mind, he responded in a daze, "This is—"

Koga could tell that Surge had entered his previous state, and noticing his astonishment, Surge exclaimed, "Wait a minute? So he's the adopted son of the Boss from another world! That makes sense!"

Koga didn't finish his sentence but instead rushed toward Ash's direction with great speed.

Koga's only response to Surge was that short phrase.

"Alright then, from now on, if you see this girl, just let her go. I'll take care of her myself."
As Ash spoke, he pulled out a photo of Blue and handed it to Koga. Recognizing Blue's image, Koga was initially startled, as Giovanni had mentioned not to attack her.
"Got it! I'll go guard the floors with Articuno, by the way, about this toxic jewel?"
"Just have your Poison-type Pokémon consume it. Don't worry; the toxin will gradually be restructured."
"Alright! Thank you!"
After committing Ash's words to memory, Koga left, considering it a favor owed to Ash. Shortly after Koga departed, Lt. Surge approached Ash.
"Brother! Brother! Can you give me some healing potions?"
Seeing Surge addressing him so familiarly, Ash realized that Surge must have also had his memories influenced by the mysterious entity.
"Fine... Seriously, here you go. Just make sure to watch out for that girl and don't harm her."
As Ash handed over a pack of Stardust, he showed Surge the photo of Blue. Lt. Surge paused upon seeing Blue's image, then grinned wickedly and said, "So, that's your girlfriend? Alright, brother, I won't let those idiots lay a hand on her."

Once Surge left, Meowth turned to Ash and asked, "Boss, why help them? Though we have a good relationship in our world, that's only in our world."
Hearing Meowth's question, Ash smiled and replied, "Because there's no need to create enemies. Only a fool creates enemies for themselves. You need to remember, we're here to rescue people, not just to fight."
"Still, it feels like you're planning to pick a fight when you get here..."
Meowth couldn't help but think about the configuration of Ash's team. Ash just chuckled, not needing to say much, and pulled Meowth into his embrace, scratching its head while saying, "Let the old buddies engage a little; isn't that fine? Pikachu, munching on ketchup, merely shrugged at Ash's words.
"Pika! Whatever you say, as long as I get my food!"
