Chapter 236 - Chapter 235: Goddess of Death

Inside the prison cell.

Thor was snoring loudly in his sleep.

His limbs were locked with Adamantium alloy chains.

Although Thor struggled and cursed at first, constantly calling out for Heimdall…

Now, he had given up. After so long without any response, either Asgard had been destroyed, or his father was interfering. Perhaps this was just another test.

All he could do now was wait for the right opportunity.

During this time, he had been trying to master the divine power Hela had mentioned. Over the past few days, he had begun to feel some reaction. In a little while longer, he would be able to break the seal and escape.

Smack!

A sharp slapping sound shattered the silence. Deep in a dream, Thor was suddenly struck in the face and opened his eyes with a jolt.

"Hela!" Thor glared angrily.

Hela stood in the shadows. Her eyes were cloaked in darkness, hiding her expression. Her voice was cold as she asked,

"You claim to be Odin's son and the heir to the throne, is that correct?"

"That's right. I am Thor Odinson, son of Odin. I have no more weaknesses. No matter what you try, you won't make me yield," Thor replied disdainfully, sporting a buzz cut.

"Did you know? The Asgardian royal bloodline has an incredibly strong physique. Even if some internal organs are removed, we don't die."

"Obviously. You don't need to teach me that."

"But there are two fatal weaknesses— the heart and the brain. If either is injured, even Odin would die."

As she spoke, Hela pulled out a dagger and pointed it directly at Thor's heart.

Thor shivered slightly but continued to stare at Hela with unwavering eyes.

"Even death won't make me surrender. Since I first stepped onto the battlefield, I was ready to enter Valhalla."

"My target was never you."

With that, Hela slowly pushed the dagger into Thor's chest.

"Ugh!"

Thor clenched his teeth tightly, refusing to make a sound.

5 cm…

2 cm…

Hela could already feel the blade touching his heart.

Odin, let me see how much he truly means to you.

Buzz!

A rainbow-colored beam of light enveloped them both, and they vanished from the cell.

Within the rainbow-colored space, Hela held tightly onto Thor as they ascended rapidly.

"Hahaha, Odin! I've come to kill you!" Hela's eyes burned with hatred.

If Thor hadn't appeared, perhaps she could have tolerated her life on Earth for another ten years. But his arrival completely ignited the hatred that had been suppressed deep in her heart, making it impossible to endure any longer.

"Ahhhh! Where are we?"

"So pretty!"

"This is the Bifrost! I read about it in books. I can't believe it's real!"

"Xiao Yu, Penny, Nina—hold onto me!"

Hearing these voices, Hela's pupils shrank, and she looked downward.

The four little ones had somehow appeared inside the Bifrost.

"F***! Why are you all here?" Hela cursed.

"No idea," said Xiao Yu.

"We just blinked and appeared here," Penny added.

"So the Bifrost is real… That means you're the real Goddess of Death! That's so cool!" said Nina.

"Teacher, we saw you and just followed," Damian chimed in.

Hela was visibly frustrated. She had come here to fight, not to play babysitter.

"I don't care about you all."

She turned her head and looked upward.

Thor had also noticed the four kids below.

"So, you've made friends on Earth too—not like what Father said. I also had a—ugh!"

A sharp pain surged through his chest.

Hela twisted the dagger and said in disgust, "They're just burdens. If you don't want to die, shut up."

"Hela, we can hear you!"

"It's okay, Xiao Yu. Hela's just got a sharp tongue," said Nina.

"Yeah, my mom says Hela is soft-hearted but speaks harshly."

"Teacher, I—"

"Shut up, all of you!" Hela roared at them.

Her thoughts were in complete disarray.

In the blink of an eye, everyone arrived in Asgard.

Inside a grand golden hall, Heimdall stood with his great sword, staring at Hela.

The moment Hela set foot in Asgard, her body began to grow taller, and a black and green battle suit appeared on her.

"Heimdall, long time no see."

She casually tossed the limp Thor to the ground.

"Hela, I truly didn't want to see you again. You'll lead Asgard to its destruction," Heimdall said as he unsheathed his sword and prepared for battle.

"Destruction? Hahaha, Odin did the same thing. Why did you serve him? Because of his strength, right?" Hela said mockingly.

What she had learned most deeply while on Earth was:

History is written by the victors.

"Are they your children?" Heimdall asked, looking past her.

Children?

Hela froze slightly.

Then she felt hands on her thighs… and her butt.

Her face darkened as she looked down.

"What are you doing?"

Xiao Yu quickly pulled her hand back and gestured about Hela's height. "Nothing… Your legs are just so long."

Nina was still touching her butt. "Where'd this outfit come from? I didn't see it before."

Penny looked at Hela's face, a bit shyly. "You look so beautiful, like Damian—so cool!"

Damian was busy scanning the surroundings.

Hela's mouth twitched. She had completely forgotten about these little ones.

Whack! Whack! Whack! Whack!

The four kids clutched their heads and squatted down.

"Ow!"

"My mom and dad never hit me before!"

"Hela is so mean!"

"Teacher, I didn't do anything!"

Looking back at Heimdall, Hela said calmly, "Send them back to Earth, and I'll spare your life."

"I can't. The Bifrost isn't fixed yet. This time, the God-King burned his own energy to activate it," Heimdall said, shaking his head.

"It's broken?"

Hela turned and saw that the once flawless Bifrost now had a missing section.

"What happened? Did Odin die and someone break in?"

"It was me. No enemies," Thor said as he stood up. His injuries had already started healing, though the chains on his limbs remained unbroken.

"And the punishment?"

"There's no punishment. I'll just fix it."

The next second, Thor was kicked into the lake.

Heimdall was shocked and slashed at Hela.

But Hela caught it with one hand and mocked, "After all this time, you're still so weak."

With a punch, she sent Heimdall flying into the lake as well.

The four little ones stared at the furious Hela, confused.

"You four stay right here. Don't run off."

Hela's rage hadn't subsided at all.

"What about you, Teacher?" asked Damian.

"To kill," Hela said coldly, as she stomped the ground and shot toward the palace.

The four looked at each other.

"What should we do?" Penny asked.

"Just wait here. My dad will come get us," Nina replied.

"But that'll take a long time. Let's go help Hela!" said Xiao Yu.

"We can't fight. Damian maybe can," said Penny.

"I wish we could call big sis and dad," said Nina.

She pulled out her phone and held it up.

"Why is there no signal?"

"You could ask the Magic Conch," came a playful voice behind them.

"History is not always written by the righteous—only by those who survive to tell it."
