After ordering the two noble men to move the headless body of the dead emperor from the chair, Cassius had taken the man's position.
First thing he did was to call for the knights who stood guard outside.
On entering the hall, at first they seemed confused but once they recognized the headless body laying lifelessly on the ground, they drew their swords ready to defend their emperor who was already dead.
Their actions drew a small laugh out of Cassius. The whole empire was a mess.
When he had asked if they hadn't heard all the screaming from before, they actually explained that they had indeed heard the noise but did not pay it any mind because it was nothing unusual.
Screams like that coming from that particular hall was no new thing, as the emperor would usually make the ladies and men act out scenes of being attacked by some kind of rebel.
Then they would go on to scream for the emperor's amusement calling for the guards like they were actually under attack.
