"A job well done, Aster," Mathieu said softly. "You've successfully neutralized the main target."
"...But you killed him, didn't you?" Rael asked, wary. "Wasn't our mission supposed to be to insert the mana crystal Frederick had brought into the strongest mecha?"
Mathieu smiled. "What do you think I did when I gripped its head? I had the crystal in my right hand, and while crushing its head, I embedded the crystal inside it. Everything went according to plan. You don't have to worry."
Despite the reassurance, Rael felt like this guy was even more dangerous than before.
"Was that time reversal?" Rael asked the obvious.
"Who knows?" Mathieu replied dryly and took a few steps toward Rael, stopping right in front of him. "I am who I am because of my abilities. But I've recently been given the opportunity to climb higher, only if I rack up sufficient achievements."
Rael's brows furrowed slightly.
