The more Rael stared at the cocoon, the more he thought he was probably never going to see Anastasia again.
On one end, he didn't really care.
On another, that would mean he had just wasted a feather on her.
"What are the odds they get along?" Rael asked.
"Zero," Kareth replied plainly. "If they get along, I will gift you my palace."
"Oh? Wanna bet on it?" Rael insisted.
Kareth turned back.
"You want to bet with my wife's life on the line?"
"..."
"Yes?"
Hearing Rael's response, he was left slightly stunned. After a brief moment, he let out a chuckle and then shook his head.
"Fine. If my wife survives, you get a palace. If I win, I will make you the Hollow Throne's successor and force you to study my knowledge for the next millennia."
"You're betting against your wife?" Rael was more interested in that little fact. "But sure, if you're so confident they are going to go at each other's throats, then so be it. I accept."
