Chapter 341 - Chapter 341: Rescue the Remaining Members of Team Taka

"Take all of these away!"

Sasuke's voice was cold and decisive as he looked over the remains of the battlefield.

Obito nodded silently, the pinwheel pattern in his right eye beginning to rotate. With a faint hum and distortion in the air, his Kamui activated. In an instant, everything before them was sucked into the Kamui dimension, vanishing from reality.

Once the task was complete, Obito turned to Sasuke. Without another word, the two disappeared, reappearing moments later at the outskirts of Konohagakure.

Sasuke had been preparing his own method to revive the Uchiha Clan, and surprisingly, Naruto was also helping him research ways to make that happen.

Torture and Interrogation Force Headquarters

Naruto walked through the heavy iron doors, the scent of metal and something faintly acrid hanging in the air. Morino Ibiki, the infamous head of the Torture and Interrogation Force, had just returned from the Intelligence Division.

His subordinates immediately noticed Naruto's arrival and quickly informed their commander.

"Naruto, what brings you here?"

Ibiki's tone was polite—almost unusually so. After all, this was the man who had ended the Fourth Great Ninja War, the so-called Child of Prophecy the Sage of Six Paths himself entrusted with the fate of the world.

Given Naruto's current standing, and the fact that he had openly aspired to be Hokage since childhood, it was no stretch to assume he would hold the title in the future. Ibiki knew better than to treat him casually.

Naruto smiled lightly. "Uncle Ibiki, I'm here to find someone."

Ibiki's brow furrowed slightly. "Find someone?" He thought for a moment, then his gaze sharpened. "Are they connected to Sasuke?"

Naruto nodded.

Understanding, Ibiki gestured toward the interior. "Follow me."

They stepped into the main hall of the detention area. Rows of instruments lined the walls—some jagged, some blunt, all designed to break the will of even the most stubborn captive.

If a prisoner refused to talk, the Torture and Interrogation Force had plenty of ways to make them.

They made their way to the deepest cell block, where two Konoha shinobi stood guard.

"Boss!" both greeted, then looked past Ibiki and lit up. "Naruto? What are you doing here?"

Naruto gave them a casual smile. "Looking for someone."

Ibiki's voice dropped into a strict tone. "If you don't need to know, then don't ask. Just do your job."

The guards immediately straightened, their earlier friendliness vanishing.

"Open the door," Ibiki ordered.

With a heavy creak, the reinforced door swung open. Ibiki turned to Naruto with a faint smile. "Let's go. I'll take you in."

The two guards exchanged glances, muttering internally—He barks orders at us all day, but smiles at Naruto like they're old friends…

Inside, Naruto spotted three familiar figures: Karin, Suigetsu Hōzuki, and Jūgo—all bound and sealed, their chakra suppressed so completely that they might as well have been civilians.

"Naruto!" Karin was the first to react, rushing as far forward as her restraints allowed.

Suigetsu gave a low whistle. "Tch. I thought it was Sasuke."

Jūgo's calm voice followed. "Sasuke wouldn't abandon us, Suigetsu."

Karin's eyes were fixed on Naruto. "Naruto, did Sasuke send you to get us out?"

Suigetsu's attention sharpened at her question. For all his grumbling, he clearly wanted to hear Sasuke was behind this. They had all followed him loyally, even in the fight against the Eight-Tails. Suigetsu himself had transformed into his monstrous water form to stall the Tailed Beast, giving Sasuke and the others a chance to escape—nearly dying when the Eight-Tails unleashed a Tailed Beast Bomb on him.

Naruto chuckled. "Yes… but not entirely."

Karin blinked, then her expression twisted into irritation. "The war's over, and we're still rotting in here? If Sasuke can't even bail us out after everything, he's—ugh! The nerve! When he was injured, I was the one who—" Her voice cracked as she trailed off into muffled sobs.

Jūgo frowned. "No. Sasuke's not like that. Maybe he's been captured himself."

Suigetsu scoffed. "With his current power? Please. The only person who could hold him is Naruto, right here in front of us."

Karin froze, then whipped her head toward Naruto, glaring. "Naruto! Tell me the truth—did you lock up Sasuke? You bastard! Give me back Sasuke!"

Naruto rubbed the back of his neck, sweat forming on his brow. Karin's mood swings were a dangerous thing—one second Sasuke was a heartless jerk, the next he was her everything.

"Let's talk about this outside," Naruto said finally. Turning to Ibiki, he requested, "Uncle Ibiki, release them."

Ibiki hesitated. "Naruto… these three are internationally wanted criminals. The war may be over, but they still have to stand trial."

Naruto countered smoothly, "Sasuke was the leader of Team Taka. Kakashi-sensei and I vouched for him, and he was released. These three are his teammates. I'm vouching for them, and Granny Tsunade knows about it. She'll approve it. Besides, they only take orders from Sasuke. There won't be any trouble."

Ibiki still looked uncertain. "This is—"

Naruto cut him off with a grin. "I'm vouching for them as the future Hokage."

That sealed it. If Ibiki refused now, he'd essentially be challenging the next Hokage's authority.

"Fine," Ibiki conceded. "I'll process their release."

Karin lit up immediately. "Yes!"

Suigetsu and Jūgo exchanged a glance, both smiling faintly.

Minutes later, the four of them stood outside the headquarters. Ibiki handed each of the three former prisoners a slip of paper.

"This is your temporary residence permit for Konoha. If anyone from the Intelligence or Interrogation units stops you, show them this."

They took the papers. Naruto gave Ibiki a respectful nod. "Thanks, Uncle Ibiki."

The man merely gave a curt nod, watching them leave.

As they walked, Naruto glanced at Karin. "So… Karin, do you like Sasuke?"

"Ah?!"

The question hit her like a kunai to the chest. Her cheeks flushed, and she stammered, "O-Oh, Naruto, what are you talking about?!"

Suigetsu smirked. "Please. You've always liked him. You even dreamed about him last night—moaning 'don't, don't' in your sleep!"

WHAM!

"Baka!" Karin's fist smashed through Suigetsu's head, water splattering everywhere.

With a splash, his head reformed, unfazed. Clearly, this wasn't the first time her temper had gone off on him.

Naruto suppressed a laugh. With these two clowns around, Sasuke's life in Team Taka was probably never boring.

Karin sniffed dismissively. "Don't listen to him, Naruto. It's nothing."

Suigetsu refused to back down. "Jūgo can confirm."

Karin shot Jūgo a glare so sharp it could cut steel. The big man immediately edged away. "I… have nothing to say."

Naruto ignored their antics and pressed on. "Karin, if you were asked to have Sasuke's child, would you agree?"

"Ah?!"

"Ah?!"

The twin shouts came from Karin and Suigetsu. Jūgo, however, remained silent—though his eyebrows did rise ever so slightly.
