Chapter 447 - Chapter 447: Hokage Handover Ceremony

After a sentimental evening at the Ninja Academy, Obito and Rin followed Kakashi back to his house.

As usual, Rin took the bed in Kakashi's room, while Kakashi and Obito slept in the living room. Since tomorrow marked Kakashi's Hokage inauguration, Rin had intended to let Kakashi sleep comfortably on the bed, but Kakashi refused politely.

Once Kakashi and Obito had washed up, they settled for sleeping in the living room. Rin, meanwhile, lingered in Kakashi's room, sitting at his desk. Her eyes fell on the group photo of Team 7—Minato, Kakashi, Obito, and herself. She smiled quietly, lost in memories.

Time had passed so swiftly.

After a while, feeling both sentimental and tired, Rin lay down on Kakashi's bed and drifted to sleep.

The next morning.

Kakashi and Obito were still asleep in the living room. Rin opened the door, clapping her hands loudly. "Two lazy pigs! Get up! Kakashi, today is your day—you're going to become Hokage!"

Kakashi groaned, turning over in his futon, eyes still closed.

Rin shook her head, understanding that Kakashi's delay was not stubbornness but a quiet attempt to savor a few last moments of peace. She walked to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and began preparing breakfast. The sizzle of eggs frying filled the air.

Kakashi finally stirred, rubbing his eyes, and glanced at Obito, who was still asleep.

"Hey! Obito, wake up! Rin is making breakfast for us!" Kakashi said.

Obito hummed in response, still half-asleep. Kakashi chuckled, stretching, and then headed to the bathroom to freshen up.

Three minutes later, before Obito could rise, Kakashi nudged him sharply. "Hey, Obito! Wake up!"

"Ouch!" Obito yelped, glaring at Kakashi.

"I know, I know!" he groaned.

Kakashi chuckled teasingly. "You're as grumpy as ever first thing in the morning."

Obito rose reluctantly, went to wash up, and afterward joined Kakashi at the dining table. Rin's breakfast was ready, and they ate together. Afterward, they packed up and prepared to leave.

Rin looked at Kakashi. "First stop—the Hokage Building, right?"

Kakashi nodded. "Yes. Let's go."

At the Hokage Building, preparations were already in full swing. Shinobi hung banners, arranged seating, and tested microphones. Shizune, having arrived at five in the morning, coordinated everything meticulously.

"Quickly! Move these chairs over there! Adjust the loudspeakers before the Hokage's speech!" she ordered, directing the village shinobi efficiently.

Looking at the clock, she saw it was already 7:30 a.m.

"Kakashi should be here soon. Where is he?" she muttered to herself.

Just then, Kakashi appeared with Rin and Obito in tow.

"Shizune-sama!" Kakashi greeted.

Without missing a beat, Shizune grabbed his arm and guided him upstairs. "Hurry! Hurry! Let's get you ready for makeup before the ceremony!"

Kakashi groaned slightly, glancing back at Rin and Obito. Rin smiled and waved goodbye, leaving him to his preparations.

Around the Hokage Building, villagers began to gather, eager to witness the historic event. Jiraiya and Tsunade arrived around eight o'clock. Tsunade headed straight for the temporary dressing room, where the village's best barber and makeup artist were ready.

After Kakashi had finished his preparations, Tsunade took her turn. Today was an important day for both of them—the handover and the taking office of the Sixth Hokage.

"Kakashi, are you nervous?" Tsunade asked, smiling.

Kakashi nodded slightly. "A little."

Tsunade laughed. "It's okay. Relax. Being Hokage is both complicated and simple. You'll understand once you assume the responsibility. Just trust your instincts."

Kakashi hummed in acknowledgment.

By 8:30 a.m., Kakashi, Tsunade, and Shikaku had reviewed the process one last time and confirmed everything was ready.

Meanwhile, in another part of the village…

"Uncle White Fang, when Kakashi-sensei receives the Hokage hat from Granny Tsunade, he'll wave to the villagers, and they will cheer!" Naruto instructed.

"After the cheers, Kakashi will give a speech. At that time, I'll ask a question. Once I finish and he responds, you can step forward."

White Fang nodded eagerly.

Minato patted White Fang on the shoulder. "It's okay. When the time comes, I'll guide you to the roof of the Hokage Building."

Kushina added encouragingly, "Yes, White Fang! You can do it!"

White Fang exhaled deeply. Nervous as he was, this excitement was far greater than completing a covert mission in a distant country.

"Alright! Let's go, or it'll be too late!"

Disguised using the Transformation Technique, White Fang joined Naruto, Minato, and Kushina as they made their way to the Hokage Building.

By nine o'clock, the area outside the Hokage Building was packed. Villagers, shinobi, and security forces filled every available space.

Representatives of the Uchiha clan—Sasuke, Fugaku, Mikoto, Itachi, and Shisui—arrived. Sakura and Tenten were also present. Orochimaru and Kabuto had come.

Hinata, Neji, Hiashi, Hizashi, and the Hyuga clan joined the crowd. Asuma, Kurenai, and the Sarutobi clan brought their children.

Even the commercial street's usual bustling shop owners had closed their doors, aware of the historic occasion.

"The guest has arrived!" a high-pitched shout echoed from the crowd.

The Daimyo of the Fire Country appeared at the foot of the Hokage Building.

Tsunade, surprised, thought back to previous handovers—Daimyos had never attended before. Before she could consider why, her aides informed her that she must personally greet him.

"Kakashi, you come as well!" she called.

Kakashi followed Tsunade, bowing respectfully.

"Lord Daimyo, why are you here?" Tsunade asked.

The Daimyo opened his fan, smiling. "After the end of the Ninja World War, peace has been restored to the world. Today's handover of the Hokage occurs under these unprecedented circumstances—I had to attend. It is only right. Isn't that so, Sixth Hokage?"

Kakashi, understanding the Daimyo's words were directed at him, nodded. "Thank you, Lord Daimyo."

Tsunade gestured. "Please, Lord Daimyo."

The Daimyo nodded and entered the Hokage Building, and by 9:30 a.m., the ceremony officially began. The streets of Konoha were alive with anticipation. Today, a new era had begun.
