But that was hardly certain. The last time Lorelle had been furious, Leofric had stood there for six straight hours, letting her pour out all her anger on him without complaint.
Yes, six hours.
At this point, Primrose couldn't tell whether Leofric had simply lost his mind or if he was desperately trying to make amends for whatever sins he had committed against her.
"But husband, can we have lunch in your office instead?" Primrose asked softly, swaying their joined hands as they walked down the palace corridor. "I just want … to be alone with you."
It was rare to have time alone with Edmund, aside from when they were asleep. That was why Primrose didn't want to waste even a moment of it by letting others intrude on their privacy.
Edmund nodded without hesitation. "If that's what you want." His voice sounded so gentle, the kind that always made her heart feel safe.
She then asked Solene to inform the maids to bring their meal to Edmund's office instead.
