Seeing how Lydia seemed to have no feelings of remorse for the trouble she had caused, Evelynn felt lost for words.
'How can she be so cheerful now? If Matthew hadn't showed up when he did, we could have been in serious trouble,' she groaned internally before she answered her.
"Yes, Matthew is a friend," she started in a low voice, still a bit unsure about what Matthew thought about their relationship. But seeing how he immediately went to support her when he saw the situation, Evelynn felt a bit safer in her answer.
Seeing as the situation had come to a stand-still, Matthew said a few words to his team before he went back to Evelynn and her friend.
"Evelynn, what happened?" he asked when he came up to her. With the situation in a standstill with the other group, he decided that he needed to understand what had happened, for it to escalate to a point where she had got attacked.
