Chapter 6 - Rescued

On a tall building in the town area, the building of the Lord of Town, a shadowy figure resembling a person stood upright.

It began to transform into a physical form—Farrel. He stood on the building and uttered something from his mouth, "Seek."

Shadows from his feet began to move rapidly, splitting apart to search for Yue and Maru.

Farrel connected his vision to the shadows through his purple eyes. He could see various human activities, such as people having sex, bathing, or sleeping in the middle of the night.

Until, in a place not far away, underground, there was a prison for criminals. The figure of Maru could be seen there.

The shadows began to approach the prison and entered Maru's cell.

"Relocate."

Farrel's body was enveloped in darkness, and he teleported to the prison.

Maru, who was sitting, was startled to see a black shadow in front of him transforming into a human figure.

"Who the hell are you?"

The figure of a person wearing a black cloak and mask stood before him, leaving him puzzled.

Farrel then removed his mask.

"It's me. I'm here to save you. Where's Yue?"

Maru was shocked to see Farrel in front of him but couldn't say anything or stop him after witnessing the power he had just displayed.

"I didn't know you were the one they call the Guardian in the Shadow."

Maru tried to explain that he had been knocked out from behind by someone, but that person was strong enough to render him unconscious.

"If it was a guard, I don't think they would have knocked me out. I also don't know where Yue is right now.

" We should get out of here first,"

Maru inviting Farrel to leave the place.

Farrel nodded

Shadows began to envelop Maru's entire body, and they relocated to the top of the building.

Maru was excited by Farrel's power.

"Wow, you can teleport like this? And in such a short time? That's awesome!"

He patted Farrel on the back and gave him a thumbs-up but he noticed that Farrel seemed sad.

"You lost in love, right?"

Maru suddenly changed the topic. It seemed like he already knew that Farrel had confessed his feelings to his wife. The result was obvious from Farrel's expression.

"Don't feel bad. When I was trying to win Lia over, she was already someone else's. I didn't even win her in a fight; it was just because her previous partner died. But now, I feel relieved because I won, hahahaha."

He laughed while patting Farrel on the his head . He took out a cigarette, and they sat together on top of the building.

You also will leave after this right ?

Farrel nodded his head.

"So today will be our last fight together... Ahhh, I will miss you. You summoned me to this building because Yue is down there, right?"

He looked at Farrel as if he already knew what he was thinking. They had hunted together for so long that Maru could read Farrel's movements.

"For one last request, can you take care of my Yue and save her? I will fight all the guards here."

Farrel understood what he meant, and suddenly, shadows beside Maru materialized a large axe.

"Hehehe, boy, looks like my weapon is here."

Farrel put his mask back on and disappeared from Maru's sight.

Maru flicked away his cigarette and grabbed his axe, swinging it around to warm up his body.

He jumped from the top of the roof down to the ground, the impact causing the entire building to shake.

"Now, let's have some fun."

The guards, hearing the loud thud, rushed out with their weapons.

"Who are you, and what are you doing here?!"

Maru, hearing this, calmly replied, "I just want to take my daughter back. Let's make a deal—surrender peacefully, and I won't kill all of you."

The guards looked at each other and burst into laughter.

"Hahaha, what can you even do? You think you can solo all of us?"

Maru raised his axe and swung it in front of them. The sheer pressure from the swing created a gust of wind that sent them flying to the ground.

But only one guard remained standing.

"It looks like you're the strongest guard here, right?"

The standing guard drew his sword without a word, and the two of them began to fight.

Meanwhile, inside the building, the two strongest knights were guarding the lord from any threat.

The lord was puzzled as to why someone would suddenly dare to attack them.

One of the knights explained that they had detained a girl closely connected to the Guardian in the Shadow.

"Her father is outside trying to save his daughter."

"So where is the girl now? Why wasn't I informed about this?"

"It was an order from another royal family. They wanted to take the girl as a hostage because she was involved in the killing of one of their descendants."

The lord was in a dilemma. They couldn't ignore the request from the royal family, or their connections would be severed. They had always been involved in illegal slave trading, so like it or not, they had to resolve this issue.

"You two, go kill that guy. And where did you hide that girl?"

"..."

"Why are you guys silent?"

He turned around and saw that his two knights were dead, their heads severed. The lord was shocked and began to sweat profusely. Then, he noticed a figure clad in a black cloak and mask, holding a dagger pointed at him.

"Shhhh... let's have a talk. I just misheard something—did you say you wanted to kill that guy outside?"

Farrel couldn't hide the eerie tone in his voice behind the mask, making the lord tremble.

"Hold up, hold up! I can explain! That girl is still safe. I think they locked her in a room at the end of the corridor."

The lord pleaded, claiming he knew where Yue was, but Farrel already knew her location. He just wanted to mess with the lord's mind a bit.

"Show me where she is. If she's not there, you'll be killed."

The lord nodded and searched for the key in the drawer located on the body of the dead knight. He couldn't bear to look and trembled as he fumbled for the key in the corpse's pocket.

After retrieving the key, the lord led the way to the room, but his legs felt weak, as if his life was hanging by a thread.

When they reached the door, the lord unlocked it and opened it, revealing...
