Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: Black-on-Black Betrayal, Vibranium Seized

Chapter 37: Black-on-Black Betrayal, Vibranium Seized

"I finally got my hands on a top-tier material. This amount of Vibranium is enough to forge an entire suit of armor."

Jiang Feng was overjoyed.

Even the foul environment in Klaue's room didn't seem so intolerable anymore.

"My dear customer," Klaue said, stepping over a splayed issue of Playboy, his fingers feeling along the wall until he pressed on a recessed metal panel.

Rumble!

With the roar of hydraulics, the rust-covered wall lifted like a curtain, and a flood of light illuminated the captain's cabin.

Dozens of transparent glass tubes stood in neat rows, liquid Vibranium flowing inside them.

Jiang Feng activated the scanning mode on his glasses.

He could clearly detect that each glass tube was outfitted with complex devices emitting waves at a specific frequency—

—designed to maintain the Vibranium in its liquid form.

This reminded Jiang Feng of another name for Vibranium: Sound-Absorbing Steel.

The material was so defensively powerful because it could absorb all forms of energy—including sound.

At the same time, Vibranium had another property:

When exposed to certain sound frequencies, it became extremely fragile—and could even turn liquid.

That special frequency…

Was the very secret method Wakanda used to mine and forge Vibranium weapons.

"Look at this purity... hehehe… if T'Chaka saw this pile of treasure, he'd probably die on the spot from rage."

Klaue picked up one of the glass tubes. The flowing Vibranium inside diffused beautifully as he let out a hoarse laugh.

"This is top-grade stuff, alright."

Seeing the dozens of tubes filled with Vibranium, Jiang Feng—who had remained calm until now—also began to smile.

As a mechanic,

Seeing rare, high-level materials naturally made it hard to stay composed.

He accepted the tube from Klaue. A chill spread through his fingertips from the smooth, cold glass.

The glass tube was roughly wrist-thick and filled to the brim with Vibranium—

Yet surprisingly lightweight.

Jiang Feng, having worked extensively with all kinds of machines, had calluses on his palms and was intimately familiar with the heavy feel of metals.

But Vibranium had only one-third the density of steel.

The lightness of the tube made him feel like he was holding a bottle of mineral water.

"With this stuff, I can craft purple-grade—maybe even gold-grade—armor."

His eyes gleamed as he looked at the tube of Vibranium.

The liquid metal slowly flowed inside the glass, making his eyes flicker with excitement.

Just then—

Klaue casually pulled a pistol from his waist and loaded it with practiced ease. The metallic click of the firing pin rang out crisply.

"Young man, if it's good merchandise, it naturally deserves a good price."

He licked his cracked lips, eyes gleaming with greed.

"Give me a number that makes us sellers happy. Let's see how much we can squeeze out of you, with that delicate little frame of yours."

Before he finished speaking,

The mercenaries on either side raised their AK-47s, the dark barrels like venomous snake fangs aimed at Jiang Feng's temple.

It was obvious—

Klaue, seeing Jiang Feng had come alone to his stronghold, decided to extort him.

After all, he was an arms dealer, not a legitimate businessman.

Killing and looting were common practices.

If the opportunity was right, Klaue would never hesitate to devour a buyer.

Unfortunately for him—

Klaue and his crew had seriously underestimated Jiang Feng's strength.

They had no idea that this man, who dared walk into enemy territory alone, was actually a cold-blooded killer.

The air in the cabin turned heavy with the scent of gunpowder.

Yet Jiang Feng remained calm, even smiling.

"You want a fair price?"

His voice suddenly dropped—deep and icy cold:

"Then let me give you an offer you'll never forget."

In a flash—

The space twisted and rippled, and black metal surged from the void, winding around Jiang Feng like a nest of serpents.

Before Klaue and his men could react,

A sharply contoured iron suit had already enveloped Jiang Feng, its sleek lines glinting with a cold metallic sheen.

"Wang Defa! What... what the hell is that thing?!"

Klaue and his men shrank back in horror, their pupils contracting.

They had only seen a flash of black—

Then the pale-skinned, bespectacled man had suddenly transformed into a metallic monster. It defied all logic.

Panicked, they instinctively pulled their triggers.

Bullets rained down on Jiang Feng, sparks flying from the armor—but not a single scratch appeared on its surface.

"Aah!"

Instead, one of the mercenaries let out a scream and collapsed.

Because the captain's cabin was tight, with all-metal walls, the bullets had ricocheted wildly.

In the chaos,

One rebounding round struck that mercenary square in the groin like a rogue executioner.

His piercing scream tore through the air as he curled up on the floor, blood soaking his tattered camouflage pants.

Seeing their comrade's tragic state—

Klaue and the other mercenary finally snapped out of their daze.

"Damn it, stop shooting!"

Trembling, they lowered their weapons, still unable to believe their eyes.

"So, are you satisfied with this price?"

Jiang Feng's voice rang out from the armor, deep and metallic, as he pointed his blackened barrel at Klaue.

Klaue was on the verge of tears, drowning in regret.

He collapsed to his knees amid the spent shell casings and screams of pain, beads of sweat dripping from his curly hair.

He never imagined—

That Jiang Feng could transform into a steel monster impervious to bullets.

Staring at that towering black-armored figure, Klaue swallowed dryly, like he'd just choked down a mouthful of rusty nails.

"Mercy… please have mercy!"

His voice trembled like a dead leaf in autumn. He quickly flung his pistol far away and sprawled on the floor like a pile of rotten meat.

In Jiang Feng's eyes, that weapon was nothing more than a toy.

"I lost my mind, I got greedy and offended you. Please, you're a man of great stature—take all the Vibranium for free!"

He was on the verge of tears.

"I can still serve you! I know all about Wakanda's Vibranium… black market connections… I swear I'm useful… just spare this dog's life…"

Klaue groveled shamelessly, begging at Jiang Feng's feet.

The remaining mercenary also dropped to his knees with a thud, pressing his palms together and begging non-stop.

But Jiang Feng's gun remained pointed at Klaue, his voice cold:

"How much can you get? How long will it take?"

Klaue raised his head with difficulty and stammered, "Ha… half a ton! One month! I swear!"

However—

The Iron Armor's built-in monitoring system displayed his racing heartbeat, dilated pupils, and other physiological signals.

Jiang Feng instantly saw through the lie.

Bang!

The gunshot rang like thunder. A bullet pierced the other mercenary's forehead.

Warm blood splattered across Klaue's face. As he watched his old comrade collapse, his body stiffened.

"One more chance. Don't even think about lying."

Jiang Feng's voice turned colder, the barrel of his gun slowly shifting toward Klaue's shaking knees.

"I—I can get at least a hundred kilograms… time… give me six months!"

Klaue broke down completely, his whole body trembling like a leaf.

Bang!

Before he could finish his sentence,

Jiang Feng blew Klaue's brains out. The man was still lying.

Crimson brain matter splattered across the Vibranium display cabinet. A golden tooth clattered to the floor alongside his corpse.

Klaue had no further value. Better to finish him—

And convert the kill into Reincarnation Points and EXP.

Jiang Feng had less than two months left in this world.

Even if Klaue could truly acquire more Vibranium, the wait would be too long—and Jiang Feng had no time to spare.

Now, three corpses lay in the captain's cabin.

With a wave of his hand, hundreds of Vibranium tubes floated through the air, pulled by an invisible force—

And vanished into the Reincarnator's backpack.

At the same time—

The gunfire had drawn the attention of others on the ship.

Outside the cabin, chaotic footsteps echoed,

Alongside the sounds of weapons being loaded and shouted orders, rising like crashing waves.
