Looking at his hands Ray could not decide what would be the appropriate action for him right now , feeling overwhelmed by what to do next Ray closed his eyes.
After a while Ray got up took his bedsheet and tied it to his window frame and jumped outside
"Thud"
Ray never expected to land directly on road from his room situated at 1st floor but he did checking that his bedsheet only reached till half of the way down ray went on his way while dailing a number
In a minute the call was picked
"Hello" said the person on other side of call
"Hey Noor it's me Ray meet me on the usual meeting spot fast it's urgent " after saying this Ray ended the callsaying and started runing towards his destination
With each step Ray took he felt his heart turning heavy , at home his mother was crying for his probable demise his father had called an ascended for Ray yet he was running to some girl instead of comforting his parents well what could Ray do Noor had Ray by the neck , even though he rarely showed it Ray appreciated Noor and her presence in his life , how she would worry for him over a little injury made Ray feel butterflies in his stomach because the fact someone else genuinely cared for him was more than enough to make him happy.
While deciding what to do Ray had decided to do something he won't regret and he would genuinely regret not meeting Noor. He would always be worried about her and how she would be missing him so after enough contemplation Ray decided to meet her before going to awakened academy.
Catching his breath at the designated meeting spot Ray was surprised how fast he had arrived even though chosen by spell sleeper were not that much physically enhanced to be called different than normal humans.
'Was it adrenaline ' Ray wondered
Looking around Ray once again praised himself for finding such a good spot. Even though there was a bazaar behind him no one came under the banyan tree where Ray was sitting right now
'Must be the superstition '
As Ray was thinking this he saw a girl in white t shirt with black pajamas and crocs coming over it was Noor her bronze like skin
Coupled with black curly hairs and deep dark eyes made Ray enchanted .
As she came a closer Ray could see her troubled expression as she walked confidently towards him
' Is she worried about me?' a grin came over Ray's face.
Just as Noor was about to reach one hand distance Ray leaned in and embraced her making sure to remember this moment as he never knew he will get another shot at this or not.
While embracing her Ray could hear her heartbeat smell her fragrance and see her bedhead .
"Wait did you come her right after waking up.?" asked Ray in a surprised tone , even though it was around noon it wasn't uncommon for teens to wake up this late during their holidays .
"Yeah since you said it was urgent" replied Noor with a brimming smile
Ray was overfilled with joy realising how she came running just after waking up but soon he was met with utter devastation how was he to tell her that he just survived a near death encounter and would have to face countless such encounters later.
"So tell me what happened , don't tell me it was a prank if it was you better be ready for a beating " said Noor worriedly
With a heavy heart and a grim expression ray said
" I've been infected by the nightmare spell and have undergone my first trial"
This statement left Noor visibly shaken she knew what it meant . She knew Ray would be gone for a while and honestly may never come back.
Ray continued" My grieving parents have called an ascended at home to take me to academy but I've come here to inform you in person to ask you to wait for me for a while"
Noor replied with tears rolling down her eyes " you didn't need to say that dumbass I would have waited even if you didn't say so"
While wiping her tears Ray kissed her on forehead and said " I'll be back I promise "
Not sure what else to do Ray started walking, feeling each step heavier than the previous Ray started to sprint while a stream of tears flowed on his face.

After a while Ray had reached the back of his home not sure of how much time he took Ray looked around and then jumped over the compound wall to land in the backyard then using the nearby dustbin for elevation he started climbing towards his window. initially using the cracks he found for support and half the way up he used bed sheet he had thrown before for the support
As Ray was about to reach the window he felt that the knot of bedsheet was coming undone so as a last ditch effort Ray tried to grab the window and he did but with only one hand .
While hanging from his window by one hand which was losing it's grip Ray was more worried about someone seeing him like this than falling because they would shout and make a ruckus which would attract his grief stricken parents resulting in them discovering Ray's current situation and what led to it.
Honestly Ray had no problems telling his parents about his relationship but he couldn't convince himself to go while seeing his grief stricken parents so he had decided to go behind their back so atleast his resolve wouldn't be broken by seeing the tears of his beloved parents
As Ray was about to fall he closed his eyes and tried to gather his will and his energy into his one hand and to his suprise he was successful and was going up soon Ray had somehow pushed himself inside his room. While gasping for air and looking at his right hand which had marks from the bottom track of the window Ray suddenly realised someone else was present in his room looking around Ray saw the person was Andrew and somehow his bed was broken
