Chapter 147 - Chapter 147

A hush fell across the battlefield.

Steve Rogers stood alone, battered, bloodied, with half a shield and lightning crackling faintly in Mjolnir's head. His suit was torn and his breath came in ragged gasps, but he remained standing, a lone sentinel against an encroaching tide. Ahead of him, the endless host of Thanos's army awaited—the clatter of weapons, snarls of Outriders, and the low hum of alien hovercrafts forming a deadly symphony. The sight was enough to overwhelm any ordinary man, but Steve's grip on his broken shield only tightened. His feet were planted in scorched earth, and the weight of the world rested on his shoulders.

And then—

Static buzzed softly in his earpiece.

"Cap... can you hear me?"

The voice was unmistakable. Sam Wilson.

"On your left."

Steve turned sharply, eyes wide.

A golden ring of light spiraled open behind him, swirling with magic. Out of it soared Sam Wilson, wings flared wide, flying high into the smoky sky. He banked once over the field, giving Steve a nod of solidarity before taking position above, scanning the field like a guardian hawk.

Then another portal opened.

And another.

Across the fractured battlefield, golden sparks lit the air, revealing dozens of swirling portals. The silence shattered with the rising chant of Wakandan drums. From the largest gateway, T'Challa emerged with regal precision, flanked by Shuri and Okoye. Behind them, thousands of Wakandan warriors marched in formation, armed and fearless.

"Yibambe!" T'Challa shouted, voice echoing across the field.

"Yibambe!" the warriors thundered back in perfect unison.

To Steve's right, another portal shimmered to life. Valkyrie descended astride her white pegasus, her blade gleaming, her Asgardian armor glinting in the dim light. Behind her, proud Asgardian warriors stepped through, their faces fierce, their weapons ready. Their war horns blared, a sound of valor and fury.

Doctor Strange emerged next, flanked by Wong and a cadre of sorcerers. Their presence rippled with arcane energy as they raised defensive shields over the battlefield, creating barriers and paths to support the incoming reinforcements. Sling rings shimmered in their hands as they opened portals with effortless grace.

"Is this everyone?" Wong asked tersely as he surveyed the chaos.

"You wanted more?" Strange replied with a smirk, before refocusing his gaze on the center of the battlefield.

Then more figures poured in—Wasp darting through the air, Korg swinging a stone mace with glee, Miek clicking excitedly with his blades spinning, Pepper in her Rescue armor scanning for Tony. Star-Lord arrived with Groot beside him, followed by Mantis, Drax, and Rocket. Each of them took formation, instantly joining the flow of the charge.

From another side, Peter Parker swung through the smoke and dust, flipping onto the rubble beside Tony Stark.

"Mr. Stark!" he gasped, his mask retracting. "We were all gone and then Doctor Strange said five years passed and he opened this portal and—"

Tony stared at him, stunned, a rare softness flashing in his eyes. Without a word, he stepped forward and pulled Peter into a tight embrace, clutching the boy like a father clinging to his son returned from war.

"I missed you, kid," Tony muttered.

Peter blinked, stunned, before hugging back fiercely. "I missed you too, Mr. Stark."

Nearby, Thor let out a low chuckle. "Now we have ourselves a fight," he said, gripping both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir.

Steve's jaw tightened. His eyes welled with unspoken relief. He stepped forward, lifting Mjolnir. The air around him grew still.

Every hero stood behind him.

This was it.

He raised the hammer.

"Avengers..."

The word echoed.

A breath.

"Assemble."

The earth trembled as every hero surged forward. Thunder boomed overhead. The charge was overwhelming—wave after wave of power, purpose, and fury crashing toward Thanos's ranks like an unstoppable tide.

Valkyrie soared above, cutting through Chitauri flyers with swift strikes. Giant-Man rose to full height and smashed through ranks of Outriders like they were ants beneath his boots. Wasp zipped through the battlefield, disabling enemy weapons with pinpoint blasts. The sorcerers raised mystic shields and summoned portals, allowing reinforcements to teleport instantly across the battlefield.

In the chaos, Clint Barton sprinted across debris with the Nano Gauntlet clutched tightly in his hands. Outriders pursued, leaping over wreckage and tearing at the earth. T'Challa landed beside him in a flash of kinetic light, extending his hand.

"Give it to me," he commanded.

Clint didn't hesitate. He passed the Gauntlet, and T'Challa sprinted forward with superhuman speed, his suit absorbing kinetic energy and releasing it in devastating pulses that blasted enemies aside. With each leap, he cleared massive gaps in the battlefield, dodging attacks and redirecting energy with precision.

Elsewhere, Wanda Maximoff hovered above the field, her eyes glowing red, her aura pulsing with power. She locked eyes on Thanos, who stood near the center of his army, watching the tide shift.

"You took everything from me," she said coldly, floating toward him with her hands glowing brighter.

"I don't even know who you are," Thanos growled.

"You will."

With a scream, she unleashed a torrent of chaos magic, lifting Thanos off the ground and slamming him into the earth, again and again, sending shockwaves through the rubble. His armor cracked under the pressure. Even Thanos, the Mad Titan, grunted in pain and began to falter beneath her fury.

Not far from the rear of the field, shadows coiled in the smoke.

Alexander stepped out, slow and composed, his eyes surveying the battlefield. Around him, Nortis and Noctis manifested silently, their weapons already drawn. Like ghosts among chaos, they moved with purpose, stalking the edges of the field.

Behind them, the shadow army lingered—silent, disciplined, waiting for their master's signal.

Alexander looked up and saw Ebony Maw in the distance, floating above a group of Chitauri as he reached out with telekinetic force toward the Nano Gauntlet.

"Target acquired," Nortis said, blade gleaming.

"Permission to engage?" Noctis whispered, already vanishing into mist.

Alexander raised one hand.

"I'll deal with him."

His cloak flared behind him as he vanished into a shadow blink, streaking across the battlefield like a dart of darkness.

Ebony Maw floated with eerie calm, his fingers stretched as debris circled him like a storm. His face was serene, confident in his manipulation of the battlefield.

The Gauntlet rose into his reach.

Then a blade of shadow cut through the air, knocking it aside.

Maw recoiled. "You again."

Alexander landed on the ground below, eyes glowing faintly, his shadow form flickering with restrained power. Each movement radiated deadly intent.

"You're far from Titan," he said, stepping forward slowly.

"And you're far beyond your station," Maw replied, summoning shards of debris to hurl like spears.

Alexander's shadow shield blocked the barrage with ease. His eyes narrowed.

"Your power bends reality. Mine cuts through it."

Maw snarled, his eyes flaring. "Then let us test whose reality remains."

They lunged toward each other, powers colliding midair, the shadows and telekinesis entwining like dragons in the sky. Energy exploded around them, shaking the very ground. The battlefield below continued in chaos, but above—two forces of absolute control clashed with terrifying grace.

To be continued.
