Chapter 3 - discovering :- time skip

Kael hung out with his friends in the schoolyard, their laughter echoing off the brick walls. He felt different—more vibrant, more alive than ever. As they tossed a football back and forth, he realized he could kick the ball farther and run faster than he ever had before. With each sprint, his body felt like a finely tuned machine, and it was exhilarating.

"Nice kick, Kael!" his friend Jalen shouted, chasing after the ball. "With your skill and power, you could go pro!"

Kael grinned, but inside, a flicker of concern stirred. His friends were already starting to tire, while he felt like he could run for hours. What if they noticed something was different about him? For now, it was best to blend in and let them think he was just another kid enjoying the game.

As they settled down for a quick snack, Kael's stomach churned at the sight of greasy chips and sugary drinks. Remembering the strange changes in his body since the alien encounter, he hesitated. When his friend offered him a chip, he instinctively recoiled. Before he could think twice, a wave of nausea hit, and he rushed to the nearest tree to retch.

"Whoa, Kael, are you okay?" Jalen's voice was full of concern.

Kael nodded, embarrassment coloring his cheeks. "Yeah, just some stomach cramps."

"Here, try this," Jalen offered a bottle of water from his backpack, but Kael knew his body was different now. It seemed to know what was good for him and what wasn't. If something didn't suit him, his body rejected it outright.

As the day went on, Kael pulled back from the game, deciding it was best not to draw too much attention to his newfound abilities. That evening, he headed to a local library, eager to learn new languages. He realized that understanding different cultures might help him uncover more secrets about the world's hidden histories and legends.

But books weren't free. After browsing the shelves, he decided to ask his father for some language books instead. It seemed like a good investment and wouldn't strain their budget.

The next day, Kael pleaded with his father. "Dad, I want to learn different languages. It'll help with my studies and my future."

His father raised an eyebrow, amused. "Alright, Kael. I'll see about getting you some books. But you'd better use them!"

"Deal!" Kael replied, excitement bubbling up at the thought of exploring new worlds through language.

After school, Kael made a habit of visiting quiet places—parks, old buildings, even the rooftops of abandoned warehouses. He would sit in silence, focusing on the strange energy that seemed to flow within him. Sometimes he tried to tap into it, but nothing spectacular happened. Still, he found himself remembering odd details—stock names, future trends, things he'd glimpsed online that now seemed clearer than ever.

As weeks turned into months, Kael, now almost twelve, grew taller and stronger than his classmates. His height and athletic build made him look older than he was. Some classmates admired him, but Kael stayed focused on his goals.

He devoted himself to learning not only languages but also various forms of martial arts from around the world. Every practice session revealed more about his body's hidden potential. He could sense the flow of energy through his muscles and nerves, and each movement felt powerful and precise.

Kael also practiced advanced stretching and breathing techniques, each one deepening his awareness of self. But for every moment of progress, a thought tugged at the back of his mind. He noticed a few classmates seemed interested in him, but Kael kept his distance, choosing to focus on his training and studies.

"What if I let myself get distracted?" he wondered. He knew that mastering his abilities required focus and discipline. He didn't want to risk losing the gifts he'd been given.

Kael made a quiet vow. "I'll explore something greater than fleeting distractions. I want to understand this world, the stories that shaped it, and the energy that connects everything."

With that resolve, Kael threw himself into his books, his training, and his quest for knowledge. Adventures and mysteries awaited, and he was ready to face them—armed with curiosity, discipline, and the power he was only beginning to understand.
