Her heart was in even more turmoil. His gaze, seemingly clear, yet with a sharpness that appeared as though it could see right through her. She suppressed her anxiety and feigned resentment, saying, "I just don't want your kindness to me to be only because of the eleven-year-old me. I hope you can also see the present me. Is it possible that my companionship over these years has all been a lie?"
"Your companionship over these years is certainly real," Daniel Harris smiled and said, "Alright, are you still mad at yourself?"
"Daniel, you know how I feel about you. Is there really no way I can be the one you love?" Grace Yowell said.
Daniel Harris's smile slowly faded as he reached out to stroke Grace Yowell's hair, "Grace, how about you give me a smile?"
Grace Yowell was puzzled, but her lips naturally curved into a sweet smile nonetheless. It was an actress's smile, somewhat alluring, somewhat seductive, yet also a bit deliberate.
