Mabel Quinn's mouth twitched, and all she could do was force an awkward smile.
This was exactly the time when people were returning from work, and within a few minutes, several neighbors came home. As they passed by Mabel Quinn's door, they greeted her and, naturally, stole a few more glances at Kyle Kinston.
"So, do you want to keep standing here and greet the neighbors?" Kyle asked.
Mabel felt a headache coming on and worried that if she stood here any longer, the entire hallway would soon know she had a "boyfriend."
Helplessly, she unlocked the door and walked inside. Kyle followed her in without needing an invitation.
"If you want dinner, you can go find a restaurant to eat at. I'm sure there are plenty of chefs who can cook dishes to your taste," she said.
He stood in the living room, examining her apartment as he spoke, "I'll eat whatever you're eating."
Come on, she never said she'd cook dinner for him!
